The_Steve
He'll be gone by this evening or tomorrow. For the money they've spent the results are an embarrassment. Team looks painfully average and dull.
The_Rev
Depends on how you look at Spurs spending. Since AVB has been there (three transfer windows) their transfer dealings have resulted in a £1.5m profit. Most of that comes from the £115m they got from Real Madrid for Modric and Bale and yes, you would expect more from a team with as many expensive players as Spurs have on their books at the minute but the point remains that they aren't hugely out of pocket at the moment. villarule123 Posted December 15, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted December 15, 2013 Why anyone would want to employ Adebayor is beyond me. What a scumbag.
Electric Avenue
So Sky went with Carragher Gerrard and Souness today to ensure we had a balanced, intelligent coverage of the Liverpool game.

They spent big knowing Bale was off and almost all of the signings have not lived up to their big transfer fees. Spurs look lost. It was a chance to rebuild the entire squad and it's looking like a mistake so far. Certainly, players need time to adapt but they spent £50m+ just on Lamela and Soldado, who look big flops in the short term. But he's been able to bring in £150 million or so in quality to supplement a strong squad. Sometimes gross matters more than net.
