We're well into December now so its that time of the year, the time when we look back on our favourite music of the year.

Must say its been a great year for me, my list of albums will be posted later but please no top 10's, a list is as long as it needs to be.

Despite it being thoroughly mainstream, I can't look far past this:

Arctic Monkeys - AM

Seeing (the majority of) it performed live made it even better.

I thought we'd already done this in another thread?

Just two in my list.

Big Big Train: English Electric Part 2 (Actually, the full 2-CD English Electric, Full Power - but Part 2 was the stuff that first came out in 2013)

Steven Wilson: The Raven That Refused To Sing

Need to have a proper think about this, and clarify what albums I've brought this year, came out this year!

Off the top I've my head, it's hard to look past My Bloody Valentine - m b v, and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Push The Sky Away.

I shall return!

Most of stuff I listen to is from 60s and 70s so if I'm honest I rarely buy albums that are released this year. Only one I got was sabbath's new release. Really good comeback album but not as good as paranoid,MOR,vol4,SBS and probaly not as good as sabotage

Agnes Obel - Aventine

Mark Lanegan - Imitations

Machinedrum - Vapor City

Volcano Choir - Repave

Summoning - Old Mornings Dawn
Bonobo - The North Borders
Autechre - Exai
The Doppelgangaz - HARK
Tim Hecker - Virgins

Added samples just in case anyone's interested.

Some belters on there (and Gareth's list to be fair) that i'd forgotten about.

The John Grant album is definitely up there for me (think it was Bicks who recommended that one).

Thats one of the reasons I love this thread every year, I forget about stuff and I learn stuff I'd missed. And yes John Grant was me I think
