I've read a lot how Negan is the ultimate nasty bastard but he'd be justified in anything he does to Rick's group now tbf.

Why? They were Very Bad Men. Guy had gore porn on the wall next to his bed for goodness sake.

I enjoyed the 'badassness' of yesterday's episode, and the tension built up really well, but the Maggie and Carol getting caught was so telegraphed. Surprised to see there are still 4 episodes left, I wonder if they will leave the introduction of Negan until the last episode or bring him in earlier.

I am a big fan of the comics as well as the TV show. At the moment, they are running quite parallel in the story line. There is still a bit to happen yet. If they maintain the current pace, Negan wont show up until the last episode, and shows he is a big tee ball fan.

Thought it was a good episode.

Think Glenn or Carol are the next big names to go (I haven't read the comics or anything), think Glenn's girlfriend is pretty safe.. or is she? hmm.

I personally think Carol is gearing up to give herself up for them to have their baby together.. Although I am aware that Glenn dies in the comics rather early on in that series.

Glad they killed the baddies in their sleep.  Interesting to hear the women on the end of the walkie-talkies with a bead painted on Rick.. Looking forward to the next one :)

Maybe Negan put up those photos so the men knew what happened to them if they don't do what he says. You don't know, Rick's group don't know. They don't know who any of them were or why they were there. Could be a situation like the hospital where some were held as slaves by the others. The uncertainty is why killing them all in their sleep was just plain murder.

Yeah, I was thinking the other day that Carol is probably going to die soon, the opening sequence of the last epiosde, the being homely, finding a new love interest etc mean she doesn't have long in this series in my book. I think she will probably sacrifice herself to save Maggie as the Saviours look to make an example of one of them to the group, and Glen will go in to save Maggie later and also be killed. I also think we may see then end of Abraham as well, again this is purely speculation on my part and is down to him dropping his newly made necklace at Hill Top and making some big decisions for his love life. Those are my three big named regulars that I think will be next to die.

Me too, most recent developments in #152 are interesting. What on earth is he going to do now? All Out War II?

Nope, they were Very Bad Men. Trust.

You are meant to be drawing parallels between Rick's group and the Saviors, at least they do that in the comics, but make no mistake, despite the fact both groups are ruthless Negan and his lot have absolutely no redeeming features and are very very bad people. Rick and the gang genuinely want to make the world a better and more peaceful place, they only do what they feel they have to and in my opinion (though I do know more about Negan et al since I've read the comics admittedly) it's totally justified.

The parallels between the group and the Saviours and especially between Rick and Negan will play a big part in the story for both the immediate and distant future.

I get the impression that is the case from the comics but the show is not doing a good job of showing it. It's been unprovoked attack after unprovoked attack from Rick's group against the saviors so far. Even the people that captured Carol and Maggie seemed to have redeeming qualities.

The attacks weren't unprovoked. Negan's group bared their fangs first when the biker gang caught Daryl, Sasha and Abraham on the road a few episodes back and they would have killed them had Daryl not beaten them to the punch.

Then there was the attempted assassination of Gregory when they were at the Hilltop and the whole issue of the Saviors forcing them to give up half of their food every month or else they'd attack them. In order to broker a deal and a peaceful and beneficial existence between the two colonies, Rick et al offered the only service they could provide which fortunately is just what both groups need.

Killing Saviors in their sleep was very dark but the show has done plenty to show that most of the group were very disturbed with what they did. The Glen scene last week was the best and most emotional scene in the episode and probably the entire season for me. Then this week it was Carol's inner struggle as she saw herself in the leader of the Saviors holding them hostage. She even gave her the opportunity to escape right at the end, if you remember.

As for the Saviors in this episode, they didn't even like each other so there's obviously something wrong with them as a group aside from the fact they willingly go along with Negan. They did show some glimpses of the humanity they once possessed here and there, but if they didn't they'd be one dimensional enemies you'd feel nothing for. You're SUPPOSED to be uncomfortable with what the group is doing, Lord knows most of them sure as hell are.

I'm not sure what you want them to do differently to showcase this more but the whole point of this is the struggle between doing what they feel they have no choice to do and their guilt and fears that really they are no different than the Saviors.
