Midweek football 5-7 November

Giroud is played very, very well lately.

He brings people into play, he can play one touch football (Wilshire goal), he wins his fair share of headers and he is very mobile for a big guy.

I think he's come on leaps and bounds this season and will only get better.

Arsenal are scoring from everywhere though. They are the second highest goalscorers in the Premier League, they were top scorers until Man City smashed Norwich 7-0 last week.  You don't need 30 goals from your centre forward if everybody in midfield is capable of double figures.

Yes, they also play a system with a lot of support strikers like Podolski and Walcott who score regularly along with the attaking mids, it's not all about getting the ball to the centre forward to finish.

Strong rumours around that Wilshere might be a shock transfer in January. Mind you, if they are sniffing the title then, he would be mad to leave.

Strong rumours?  Where?  All I can see is a bit of idle speculation that he might be a good replacement for Xavi Hernandez, who turns 34 during the next transfer window and the miles on the clock (700 games for Barca, 130 caps for Spain) are starting to show a little.
