  1. Brad Friedel had another fumble against Brighton - i think we got rid at the right time, he's starting to lose it a bit, shame he needs the money.
  2. 5 in 11 to start the season. 5 in 33 to finish the season. Last Premier League goal? 5th November. The worst run of form in his career. His career is baring striking similarities to how Vassell's went. Every season we would say "this season he will get 15-20 goals" and it never came and it isn't coming for Gabby either. The stats are upsetting, the performances have been frightening. I imagine a lot of you, like me, see him as your favourite player in the squad which makes it all the more distressing seeing him play like this. How about this for another statistic... In his last 68 Premier League games he has scored 10 goals What next for our Gabs?
  3. i have just read that Villa had made an offer on the danish defender... it says that i should have been about 3 million pund, but it has gotten rejected by the danish club.... it also says that the danish club is waiting for a new offer from Villa... http://www.sporten.dk/fodbold/fcn-afviser-okore-bud-fra-aston-villa Source... Danish newspaper...
  4. About time he has his own thread now,set to be announced as manager tomorrow. Welcome aboad Steve!
  5. Apparent heart attack. Report here. Sorry for short link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39660196 Former England and Aston Villa defender Ugo Ehiogu is in hospital after collapsing at Tottenham's training centre on Thursday. The 44-year-old, who is Spurs' Under-23s coach, received medical treatment on site being transferred to hospital by ambulance, the Premier League club confirmed. "Everyone at the club sends their best wishes to Ugo and his family," Tottenham added in a statement. Ehiogu has been at Spurs since 2014. He made over 200 appearances for Aston Villa between 1991 and 2000 before spending seven years at Middlesbrough. Ehiogu, who was capped four times by England, also played for West Brom, Leeds, Rangers and Sheffield United before retiring in 2009.
  6. There have been plenty of rumours about us trying to get Robert Snodgrass on loan from West Ham. Here's an article in the Birmingham Mail about it...
  7. Stolen from the Brum Mail. Not sure how to do this, a series of polls perhaps? Factoring in price, salaries, performances and my personal opinion of them as players and humans I think I'll end up with: Group A: 1 Lescott (High salary & utterly crap). 2 Bacuna (Delusional and here for 4 years) Group B: 1 McCormack ( Massive fee, massive salary, massive idiot) 2 Sanchez (He wasn't that bad but the only one of those left who cost money) Group C 1 Richards (Ridiculous salary, constantly injured and a gung-ho attitude to defending) 2 N'Zogbia ( High transfer fee, high salary and terrible attitude) Group D 1 Drinkwater (Only a loan signing but still high wages and pathetic performances on the field, also a convicted drunk driver who headbutted a teammate since coming here). 2 Tshibola (Can only imagine Steve Clarke got part of the transfer fee? Baffling signing) On to the knock out stages. Quarterfinals: Lescott beats Sanchez by a mile McCormack beats Bacuna even more clearly Richards pips Tshibola Drinkwater vs N'Zogbia is probably the closest quarterfinal. I went with personal dislike over longevity and money so Drinkwater takes it. Semi Finals: Lescott vs McCormack. It has to be McCormack. Not a single thing about this signing was good, nothing. Richards vs Drinkwater. Ranked 489th last out of 492 players this season on Whoscored with a average of 5.74. Granted in a very small sample size. He should never have been signed. Final: McCormack vs Drinkwater. And the winner is Ross McCormack by a country gate. It's not even close. Guy is a tool and even after being released he is still a poison to the club. Take a bow son Not to be taken too seriously.
  8. Probably needs its on thread now as RDM has confirmed his interest in him. Just click it I would imagine this ones happening for him to confirm it. i have to be honest i don't know anything about him, wont take much to be better than our current cm though
  9. This deserves its own thread. So sad to just read the news. Wonderful football, great left foot and was very disappointed when we sold him. Thoughts of with his family and loved ones.
  10. A new thread to replace the over-reaction threads on both sides. There are a few of you who really need to read the posting guidelines before your posting privileges get revoked.
  11. Hutton attracting interest Villa and Everton thought to be chasing Spurs right-back http://www.skysports...6786450,00.html Any one take Hutton instead of Walker?
  12. Worth starting a thread as this one is looking nailed on. Full article in the Birmingham Mail here - http://tinyurl.com/zpwwrol I can't pretend to know anything about him, but the reaction from Reading supporters seems to suggest we're potentially getting a bargain. Fingers crossed!
  13. 17 year old right back for the youth team has just signed his first professional contract. I've seen him a few times for the youth team and I've been very impressed. He's very good going forwards and also adept defensively, I'm looking forward to seeing how he develops over the coming years. I think he's a very special talent
  14. Tony following him on Twitter, he's a villain now....
  15. New owner, new start. New division. Anyone know anything about him?
  16. Don't all start this player thread at once! Ah bugger, spelt it wrong in the title...
  17. Apparently Bayern Munich are after the young lad from Hall Green http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2607300/Bayern-Munich-keen-16-year-old-Aston-Villa-defender-Easah-Suliman.html
  18. So... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37220214 Yes from me based on the very little I have seen and the few bits I have heard. Pacey, strong, scores goals. 19 Championship goals last season. Get him in and be done with it!
  19. This news has beaten all the press it would seem. As the rules stipulate to open a new player thread you must provide a link to the speculation source, I have had to link an old article from the Brum Mail in the Summer. It speculates where Villa could pick up an Icelandic star. Welcome Birkir (fingers crossed Villa Transfers Twitter account is on the money again) https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/heres-aston-villa-could-pick-11534357.amp?client=ms-android-samsung
  20. Guess he needs his own thread as he is apparently close to signing. Anyone know how good he is? Get out Lescott!
  21. While it's too early to really make any judgement on whether or not he'll come good, I will say that with him in the squad, there's a disconcerting effort to hoof it up to him. That's not entirely his fault at all but I sincerely hope that we're not being directed to kick it up to him when he's in the squad. It creates bad habits.
  22. Did a search but couldn't find a thread for this lad. Went on loan to Stevenage in August and has had a bad couple of months with Injuries but last few games been coming off the bench. Scored a cracker on his full Stevenage debut
  23. Think this needs its own thread. Well on a free and ex england international I think this will be a magnificent signing for us http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11677/9882020/micah-richards-heading-to-aston-villa-according-to-reports
  24. Very excited about this player, he's 15 and plays centre midfield, he made his debut for u18s last season at the age of 14. He made his u16 debut at 12. He made his England u16 debut at 14 and has played for England u17 this season, I think he is superb
