That would probably be the most sensible appointment they could make and would stabilise the club before they start their crazy spending spree. However, I think the suggestions on here are looking for some entertainment leading to their relegation in May
Clear foul for me - no doubt whatsoever - Jota making no attempt to play the ball and trying to engineer a tangle with the forward that brings them both down - he comes across the forwards line and bumps him with his hip - he meant it and he's got away with it. It's the kind of thing that sometimes you get away with where a ref sees it as an accidental tangle - they sometimes get picked up on VAR and then given, but to un-give it on VAR is an exceptional error on behalf of the referee.
No, you're right, people absolutely were slagging him off significantly before cabbage-gate. I would say there were three periods when faith in him ran particularly low and sentiment turned in favour of sacking him, one was when we had a bad run around Christmas (?) in his first season, the next was after the playoff final, and then the third - which kind of went on from the second, but some switched back to support for a while - was when he got sacked.
I did make the point on here a lot at the time that during the first half of that year, both his parents died, which is something that knocks a lot of people for six, and I think people could possibly be a bit more charitable about niggly comments to journalists in light of that.
