  1. Figured this might be worthy of it's own thread given a couple of sources have quoted us as being interested today... I can't say I know a lot about him...
  2. lexicon

    Brad Young

https://www.avfc.co.uk/players/u18/bradyoung Not a player that gets mentioned a whole lot - I couldn't find a thread for him, so thought I'd start one. Anyway, he flies under the radar somewhat given the bigger names/potential stars in the U23s and U18 side but every game I've seen him in, he's done well - good technical skills, great workrate and a good athlete too; he's quick and doesn't tire easily. So far this season, he's got 13 goals and 4 assists in 17 games (16 starts) as per the link above - I'm guessing that just for the U18s. Thought he deserved a thread and some recognition!
  3. a-k

    Ákos Ónodi

Thought he was fantastic tonight. Get Emi mentoring him ASAP.
  4. By popular request I'm creating the brand new fish and tits thread
  5. Great article in the Daily Mail with Carbone about his time in England... Click Here One of my favourite players down the years and sounds like a great man also... (Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. I couldn't see it but if it is then please delete the thread)
  6. Think this man deserves his own thread. Great Performance today. Villas Answer to Sergio Busquets
  7. Thought this one deserved it’s own thread now as it’s clear we’re in discussions with the club/player...
  8. TRO

    Paul McGrath

I went to an evening with the great man last night.....he simply doesn't know how good he was. it was very interesting, fuelled by a few sherbets. what struck me was his admission that he would willingly coach the defence for nothing, if he had the call. blimey, it's like having Elvis as your vocal coach. we all know Paul likes a tot......but if we as a football club could turn down such an offer from the great man, we must be missing something. He clearly loves Villa, made great references to Sid and Dean Saunders. one of the last of the talented players not driven by money. the room was Full of fans in full voice in support of the big man......how many of the current squad could attract a table full never mind a large room.
  9. Just Twitter BS as usual.
  10. Sarah Mayling says she ‘can’t wait to get started’ as she prepares to begin a second stint in claret & blue. https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2021/july/Sarah-Mayling-joins-Villa-Women-/
  11. Aston Villa Women are pleased to announce the signing of Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah on a two-year deal. https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2021/july/Chantelle-Boye-Hlorkah-joins-Villa-Women-/
  12. Free Radio reporting that he has died. Terrible news if so. A true Villa legend. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum
  13. Young Irish winger looks like he might make a debut today at Fulham. Those who've seen him play for the U23's will know he's direct, aggressive and has a bit about him. He's very young, but hopefully he gets on the pitch today and gives a good account of himself.
  14. Thought it would be best to open a post on Tom Heaton who according to Gregg Evans is close to signing for us.Top keeper in my opinion just what we need.
  15. Just to stop this from getting locked: http://www.superdeporte.es/valencia/2014/08/07/aly-cissokho-aston-villa-25/231765.html
  16. Since we have apparently started creating individual threads for our female signings here we go with another one
  17. Tony following him on Twitter, he's a villain now....
  18. Aston Villa make first move to sign Man Utd’s Axel Tuanzebe Aston Villa have now registered their interest in Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe amid a potential summer transfer move. Reports in recent weeks have claimed that the centre-back could be set for a reunion with Dean Smith, having, of course, played under the Villa boss during their time in the Championship And now, Football Insider have revealed that Villa have now made an approach for the defender by registering their interest in him and that they will make an official move for him if given the encouragement to do so. It’s added that: “Smith wants a young defender with Premier League experience to provide cover and competition for first-choice duo Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa. Tuanzebe has been targeted as he fits the profile of the recruitment team and has the potential to develop.” The £7.2m-rated centre-back has earned rave reviews for his performances for United last season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer waxing lyrical about him after he stopped PSG and Kylian Mbappe in the Champions League. He said: “Axel’s a tremendous defender, a great leader. He’s come through the academy and we’ve known for years that he’s going to be a top player for us and he’s got the character and the attitude that a Man United player should have. Sometimes you’ll get in a foot race with Mbappe and you have to run with him and we know Axel’s qualities, he’s a top defender.” Given the £50k-a-week earning ace has already played under Smith, he should be able to hit the ground running, especially with his experience of Premier League football at United too. Tuanzebe featured 35 times in his one season at Villa, including starting in the club’s Championship play-offs run that earned them promotion back to the Premier League. Villa fans will surely be buzzing at the prospect of another, young English talent heading to Villa Park and joining the likes of Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa as Smith’s impressive centre-back options, especially with Bjorn Engels’ recent departure. Good news.

    Callum Rowe

thought he did well tonight, surprised that he's actually 21....... tbh i would take him as Targetts backup over Taylor from what i have seen.
  20. Wow, didn’t see that coming, highly rated youngster apparently. Only 16, but in the England set up.
  21. I know there is already a thread for this mods. Can they be merged?
  22. Express & Star are reporting that Bruce has confirmed our interest in Lansbury, so I figured a speculation thread is in order. http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/aston-villa-fc/2017/01/05/january-transfer-window-steve-bruce-confirms-aston-villa-approach-for-henri-lansbury/
  23. He's lucky if he starts a game, and doesn't really do much for them, does he? I'd rate him a failure so far with Man U... Anyone fancy a move for him in January?
  24. JPAngel

    Josh King

According to our good friend Percy, we’ve launched a £16m bid for Josh King so I suppose it makes sense to open a post. The link to the Telegraph article is HERE I actually prefer King to Wilson. Whenever I’ve watched him he’s looked like he has more to his all round game than Wilson and I think he’d be a good signing at the sub £20m mark providing we bring in further competition (e.g. Watkins). That being said, the idea does lack a little creativity doesn’t it? “Oh, Wilson didnt want to join us... who else y’got?”.
