  1. Josh Onomah has joined us on loan for the season! A young Spurs player who has been referred to as the best of the current generation of the Spurs academy, it is somewhat surprising he's actually being allowed to go out on loan, let alone to the Championship. It's likely we'll see him coming in to replace Grealish in the squad as the most attacking midfielder, however he has also played out wide for Spurs and often gets referred to as a box-to-box midfielder and has been compared favourably to Moussa Dembele by fans. Here's hoping it works out! www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/tottenham-transfer-news-josh-onomah-aston-villa-loan-mauricio-pochettino-loan-deal-a7876226.html
  2. This one looks about done. Welcome!

Just been announced he is the new manager of Genk. Can't find a link anywhere mods but it's all over twitter.
  7. Apparent heart attack. Report here. Sorry for short link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39660196 Former England and Aston Villa defender Ugo Ehiogu is in hospital after collapsing at Tottenham's training centre on Thursday. The 44-year-old, who is Spurs' Under-23s coach, received medical treatment on site being transferred to hospital by ambulance, the Premier League club confirmed. "Everyone at the club sends their best wishes to Ugo and his family," Tottenham added in a statement. Ehiogu has been at Spurs since 2014. He made over 200 appearances for Aston Villa between 1991 and 2000 before spending seven years at Middlesbrough. Ehiogu, who was capped four times by England, also played for West Brom, Leeds, Rangers and Sheffield United before retiring in 2009.
  8. Not sure how much of this is Man City making his availability for a loan move known to all or how much of it is us really wanting him but we have been linked with Scott Sinclair overnight: Daily Mail A few blogs have picked it up too, that Italian Sky Sports guy Gianluca Di Marizo also has it and he seems reasonably well respected. Admittedly I'd never heard of him until the Podolski to Inter rumour blew up and he seemed to be the guy who gave that credibility. Anyway, it's an interesting move if it happens, Sinclair had an injury hit loan spell at West Brom last year but if he is fit and in form then he might be exactly what we need. I'd rather have a wide man in the side playing ahead of blokes that just don't have it (Weimann) or have it but don't appear to be interested (N'Zogbia) so fingers crossed on this one.

  10. https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2016/10/13/stephen-clemence-arrives Aston Villa are delighted to confirm that Stephen Clemence has joined us today as first team coach. Clemence joins Steve Bruce’s backroom staff, having previously worked with him at Hull City and also at Sunderland. Welcome to the party
  11. Apparently he is joining bruces backroom staff according to the gazette. Flopped as manager but highly rated as a coach and worked with bruce before this can only be a positive surely?
  12. Apoligises if there is already a post dedicated to Benji, i have checked and gone through a years posts and couldnt find one :-) anyways, i was hoping to maybe see more of him this season maybe in the cup games, but seeing as weve signed steer whos took second place in the keeping order and Benji hasnt been given a first team squad number, im guessing he wont be featuring yet this season? which leads me onto the question, does anyone know anymore about him? age, height, reserve progression etc? thanks
  13. Loks like this one is happening then, just hope this doesnt mean we get rid of Kozak.
  14. Everton’s midfield stalwart Gareth Barry will be celebrating a personal milestone when he starts Saturday’s game against Middlesbrough. The match will mark his 600th Premier League appearance, and third overall in the all-time list. Fellow midfielder Frank Lampard has 609, and winger Ryan Giggs is at 632. He probably already has a thread somewhere, but sorry guys I couldn't find it. Many many congratulations Gareth, pleasure watching you play in our shirt! Wish he was still with us to be honest. Top professional.
  15. Can't find a topic about this lad but he seems to be scoring all of our goals this preseason. Any of you U21 followers got any info on him? Could he play a part this season?

  22. http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~5627279,00.html From the official site. We've talked some real hype about our new fitness coach, who has had a celebrated coaching career. Thoughts? Personally, this new backroom staff is bringing all of the good vibes.
  23. Like any player who makes a full debut, he probably deserves his own thread....be interesting to hear the thoughts of the people who have watched him more regularly in the reserves over the years. Looked solid to me, any full back at times is going to get beaten once or twice vs N'Zogbia but on the whole, thought he coped pretty well.
  24. If you beleive what you read this guy is a hot prospect in our rerserves.... anyone seen him play ? think he is CB ? Reported to be out of contract in the summer though - any info anyone ?
