  1. OK... i know.. yes everyone hates him at the moment. He had bad words to say about the club.. etc etc. If he is willing to have a fresh start at the club gets back his form when he first joined... Will everyone forgive and forget? I miss having a left back at the club! Im not sure why we are supposedly chasing Hutton when we have Young and Lichaj and even Cuellar.. Im assuming that Warnock will be playing for Villa again. Be interesting to see the reaction. Before his injuries.. i remember him making last ditch tackles.. real commitment to the cause.. Id love to see that form back despite what has gone on.. (of which i am not even 100% sure what happened). As we all know.. in a working environment, when you have a boss that makes your life hard.. you want to leave and find a new job or tough it out till he leaves. Yay or Nay for Warnock?
  2. Isn't it about time he had a thread? Things seem to be moving in the right direction - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/06/21/aston-villa-make-concrete-offer-john-terry/?WT.mc_id=tmg_share_tw
  3. Stephen Moore has been playing for the Adam and Eve in Digbeth
  4. Aston Villa is delighted to confirm the signing of Declan Frith. The 19-year-old wide attacking midfielder joins Villa’s Academy having impressed on trial over recent weeks for the Under-23s in Premier League 2. Frith also scored a hat-trick for the Young Lions in the Birmingham Senior Cup first round last month. Academy manager Mark Harrison said: “Declan left Chelsea at the end of August and has been on trial with us for a couple of weeks, playing in games against West Bromwich Albion, Coventry Sphinx, Stoke City and Wolves. “Having performed well he has signed a professional contract. He is a wide attacking player who can play both sides. “We look forward to seeing how he develops.” Official Site
  5. Welcome Dean, an exciting appointment!
  6. Apparent heart attack. Report here. Sorry for short link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39660196 Former England and Aston Villa defender Ugo Ehiogu is in hospital after collapsing at Tottenham's training centre on Thursday. The 44-year-old, who is Spurs' Under-23s coach, received medical treatment on site being transferred to hospital by ambulance, the Premier League club confirmed. "Everyone at the club sends their best wishes to Ugo and his family," Tottenham added in a statement. Ehiogu has been at Spurs since 2014. He made over 200 appearances for Aston Villa between 1991 and 2000 before spending seven years at Middlesbrough. Ehiogu, who was capped four times by England, also played for West Brom, Leeds, Rangers and Sheffield United before retiring in 2009.
  7. Reports just now we have agreed a 11m € fee for him. I have absolutely no idea how good or bad he is. Trezeguet developments
  8. 5ft10 I think. Mcleish said it in the press that he's grown a lot more this year than he was at the start of the year.
  9. "He will also add Norwich City goalkeeper Jed Steer, 20, who becomes a free agent on July 1, to a firmament of four including Brad Guzan, Shay Given and Benji Siegrist." "Bringing in Jed will also add to the goalkeeping department and helps with everyone pushing one another, learning from one another and making everyone better and wanting to improve." http://mobile.avfc.co.uk/default.aspx?s=news-display&aid=3220876 Formerly of Norwich City, albeit not making a first team appearance, Jed Steer will reunite with Lambo here at Villa by the looks of it. No official statement on him that I can see, maybe not until July 1st, but they've slipped it into the news story above so I guess its finalized that Jed Steer will be our new number 2 and our 6th signing of the Summer. Welcome I guess!
  10. Another youngster signed a professional contract last week, Don't know much about him but think we will have some of the best youth in the country in a few seasons time. Can only be positive Aston Villa youngster Jaden Philogene-Bidace has signed a professional contract with the club. Jaden, 18, a versatile wide player who can play on either side, joined in January 2018 and became a regular for Villa’s Under-18s. He duly broke into the club’s Under-23s last season and put in some impressive performances. Congratulations on your professional deal, Jaden! https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2020/08/14/philogene-bidace-contract
  11. Just signed from Brugge apparently. €25m. Out of nowhere.
  12. Think this needs its own thread. Well on a free and ex england international I think this will be a magnificent signing for us http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11677/9882020/micah-richards-heading-to-aston-villa-according-to-reports
  13. Makes the bench today. 17 year old who we signed on professional terms in December. Anyone know anything about him?!
  14. What are your thoughts on his appointment as England manager? For me it is totally underwhelming . It is a political appointment. The FA have invested loads in St George's park and one of their motivators for that is to find and develop the next generation of coaches for football. Appointing Southgate gives credence to that objective.
  15. Free Radio reporting that he has died. Terrible news if so. A true Villa legend. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum

  17. While it's too early to really make any judgement on whether or not he'll come good, I will say that with him in the squad, there's a disconcerting effort to hoof it up to him. That's not entirely his fault at all but I sincerely hope that we're not being directed to kick it up to him when he's in the squad. It creates bad habits.
  18. Sounds like Beale is the brains of the incoming group. Some glowing praise from highly credible people in the game. A tactical wizard, apparently. Excited to see how things develop under his tutelage.
  19. About time he has his own thread now,set to be announced as manager tomorrow. Welcome aboad Steve!
  20. This looks as though it is as good as done. He comes with good pedigree from Liverpool and Chelsea. Can he deliver for us in the role of CEO? Hopefully he can’t do much worse than previous encumbents.
  21. i have just read that Villa had made an offer on the danish defender... it says that i should have been about 3 million pund, but it has gotten rejected by the danish club.... it also says that the danish club is waiting for a new offer from Villa... http://www.sporten.dk/fodbold/fcn-afviser-okore-bud-fra-aston-villa Source... Danish newspaper...
  22. https://www.avfc.co.uk/players/u18/bradyoung Not a player that gets mentioned a whole lot - I couldn't find a thread for him, so thought I'd start one. Anyway, he flies under the radar somewhat given the bigger names/potential stars in the U23s and U18 side but every game I've seen him in, he's done well - good technical skills, great workrate and a good athlete too; he's quick and doesn't tire easily. So far this season, he's got 13 goals and 4 assists in 17 games (16 starts) as per the link above - I'm guessing that just for the U18s. Thought he deserved a thread and some recognition!
  23. Welcome to B6 Steven Gerrard
  24. Sky Sports Transfer Centre have basically paraphrased this article: http://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20150803/201097739785/adama-de-gira-por-inglaterra.html TRAORE IN TALKS WITH THREE PL CLUBS Barcelona starlet Adama Traore will visit the facilities of three Premier League clubs and negotiate with each of them this week, according to Mundo Deportivo. The teenager’s future has been subject to heavy speculation in recent weeks and it was reported on Monday that he has already travelled to Merseyside to undergo a medical with Liverpool. However, according to Mundo Deportivo, the winger, who has been granted permission to miss Barca B training sessions this week, will use his time in England to visit the facilities of Liverpool, Stoke Cityand Aston Villa and hold talks with all three Premier League sides before deciding his next destination. Traore, who is under contract until 2018, has a €15m buyout clause. Barca would prefer to sell him rather than loan him out, although they would look to include a buyback clause into any transfer.
