  1. Although it's already been mentioned in the Colonial Marines thread, the previews (hands on previews I should add) of this deem it sufficent enough to get it's own thread. Basically - it looks good. Really, really good. Rumours were true in that it is set between Alien and Aliens and has you playing as Ripley's daughter, while she tries to find out what happens to her mum, like. This leads her to a space station, and guess what. There's a Xeno onboard, ofc. It seems to be very much an old school survival horror game for the new gen - you will seldom have weapons, and the best tactic is to usually run and hide. There are cramped enviroments, moody lightning, and (for the most part at least it seems) only the one Alien that you have to...avoid being killed by, rather than killing it, it seems. It's been in development for 3 years for the new gen (although will be on PS3 and 360 aswell) as is one of the finest looking games I've seen for the new gen so far. Also, the devs confirm it's single player only, which is also encouraging. Can't really post any vid or pics, it's a bit difficult at work so er do it yerself if yer want.
  2. Rumours seem to suggest Microsoft will make some sort of announcement about this this week. I shan't hold my breath but it'll certainly be interesting if they do. They completely **** up with the Xbox One, lessons learnt? Will they manage to actually get the message on point after the disastrous mudding last year at E3? Will be obscenely priced? Etc etc.
  3. Surprised this doesn't have a topic yet. I downloaded it a week or so ago, and have only had time to play on a couple of occasions, but it seems really good fun. It's FREE on PS Store, it's in open BETA for a year or so - but it works very well. It's like PUBG (Player Unknowns Battle Grounds) - you and 100 other people get dumped into a map (you jump out of a bus held up by a balloon somewhere along it's journey) into a large, open map with small towns, forests, lakes etc. It's all contained on a large island. You get dumped with nothing but a pick axe which you use to destroy the environment which gives you resources (metal, wood & brick). You also find weapons (different colours = different level items) and ammo, ranging from pistols, to DMR's, sub-machine guns & assault rifles and rifles. With the resources, you can build fortifications quickly - so if there is a building you know someone is in, you could build a ramp up the house and go in from the roof. The name of the game is to be the last player/team alive. The thing that stops camping is a big storm which encroaches the island in a big circle. If you don't stay WITHIN the circle, you lose health and eventually die. The circle gets smaller and smaller, which pushes the players together and forces conflict. The storm initially doesn't move, and then moves intermittently which gives you fair time to gather weapons, harvest resources and make plans. It's cartoony in style, you can jump about 6ft, the weapons have RNG (random number generator) accuracy (meaning there is spread to your bullets, making distant targets hard to hit apart from rifles), but it's fun as hell with a couple of you playing. Should you die, you can quit the game quickly and just start a new game, so you don't have to wait around. That said, generally speaking if you get shot and lose your health, you get "knocked out" which means you can potentially crawl to safety and get revived. You have to shoot knocked out players to kill them permanently. Lots of videos about it on Youtube - but it's FREE and you should definitely download it and have a few games with people you play with. Because it's arcadey, you don't have to be a pro at shooting games. Random video for your pleasure;
  4. The F2P hero shooter, Paladins, has recently hit the PS4 as a beta and I have enjoyed playing it. It is very similar to Overwatch, for those used to that game, with a few subtle differences. The champions are more rounded, meaning that supports and tanks can output a fair amount of damage. There is no hero switching (rather there are moba-esque upgrades you can level up to counter certain set ups). Ultimates are far less powerful meaning the inevitable team wipes you get in Overwatch are rarely seen. It's obviously less polished & not as well voice acted but it's a decent game in its own right. So far it's not pay2win. All the champions can be unlocked with the founders pack (around £10-15) and the loadout cards can be bought with minimal grinding (I have been able to get the cards I want for any hero by about level 4). Aside from the founders pack, I can't see any reason to spend money in the game as the cosmetics are very basic at the moment. The only incentive may be to purchase xp boosts to decrease the time it takes to get into competitive play (at the moment it will probably take 20-30 hours to qualify)
  5. Yeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaw It scores about 70-80% depending upon the review site but I got it as soon as it was downloadable off PSN ( £39.99 ). Been playing for a couple of days now, loving it. Features the trucks, Xfinity and of course the Cup series. Won't do a review but google is your friend. Very enjoyable indeed. I don't buy many games but I'm thoroughly happy with this one especially career mode. It came out on Thursday I think, physical copies only by import at this moment but as said is available on PSN not sure when Euro release is. I'm giving it an 8/10. Bonus, that you get to smash Danica's rear end in, if you want. Ooooh la la British redneck, signing off.

    FIFA 18

Announcement teaser trailer Most wanted features? I played a bit of the journey on my brothers PS4, quite impressed. An expanded version of that, with a branching storyline, would be good.
  7. Please please let this be good. It was one of my absolute fav games as a kid and is one of the types of games that PS4 just does not have. 6/10 and above and they can have all my money. Out at the end of this month!

  9. Release Date: 17th of November. First trailer will be revealed later today Experience the full reveal on April 17, 2015 10:30 AM PT Here's a screenshot: I loved both Battlefront 1 and 2 so can't wait for this. Just hope EA don't do anything stupid.
  10. Anyone on here that plays COD, battlefield, fifa, the division or any ubisoft games reply with you gamer tag. Most of my mates are hardly on these days.

    Mafia 3

So who's picked this up then? I got it yesterday on PS4 and stuck it on last night. Typical first day patch meant I couldn't play for 90 mins cuz VM seems to be throttling my connection during the evening but when it eventually installed first impressions are good. Similar in many ways to GTA but not as "cartoony". Only played for about an hour. Did the first few missions, fed a guy to a gator. Hoping to give it a proper go over the weekend.
  12. Along with Guild Wars II, this is my most anticipated game of 2012. Over ten years in development, it's finally released on May 15th and I for one cannot bloody wait, and I foresee many hours being sunk into it. Official Site
  13. Release date: April 12th Figured I'd start a new thread for this as it's release is quickly approaching. I am so goddamn hyped for this game, and there have been a lot of videos emerging in the past few days showing off a fair bit of the early game (lots of spoilers though, so maybe don't watch them if you want to go in 100% blind). I will say though that after watching several of the videos my hype levels have gone through the roof. This game looks good.
  14. Anyone else going to be picking this up? From what i've seen/read it looks like it could be a GOTY contender. Overview here Should be getting it later today on PS4 and if it's as good as Human Revolution we could be in for a treat.
  15. Anyone played the beta? Got it downloading now, hope it lives up to the hype!
  16. http://www.minecraft.net Awesome!
  17. Anyone had a go of this yet? After becoming pretty decent at Star Wars, I thought I'd give this a go and I'm getting my ass absolutely handed to me! Loved Gears on 360 - this is pretty decent.
  18. Release is fast approaching, whom amongst us played the beta(s) & if so what were your impressions? I've played the Alpah, Closed Beta & open Beta. My thoughts over those sessions still hasn't changed that much, game play is tight. Combat feels good & well balanced, best cover system in a game I've played. Interesting skill development when you dig round the inventory menus, some nice rpg elements & again if you look/dig into the menus your find crafting sections/more perks/Skill trees. what I didn't like was the environment all that much, I enjoy post incident settings but the world just felt so flat to me. Missions are repetative, the enemies & their types pretty forgettable...I'm not sure I can buy into bullet sponge gang members. I love damage output numbers eg Diablo/Destiny but shooting someone in a hoodie just didn't seem to feel right. The dark zone was a mess, no real rhyme or reason. I've said before but I experienced two game types: everyone (almost) works together vs the PVE environment & you will have a player(s) camping extraction...the match turns into a revenge fest. the majority of people just go rouge, the ensuing carnage turns into a revenge fest again & isn't that enjoyable to even be envolved in....then you have the Campers at extraction still. If Destiny was light on content/repetitive while even running all three character I'm already having serious reservations about the game beyond the story. I'm hoping at release we see what the end game is here as if there's not much past story mode I'll probably miss this one.
  19. Put in a few hours on this. It's a bit chaotic (no surprise there with console players on a moba) but in all I think it could be a gem of a game. Anyone ne else pull the open beta down on ps4 early?
  20. Will anyone have goosey gander at this? No guns or tech here just spears and stones and lots of wooly mammoths.
  21. Anyone else getting this? Hopefully picking it up tonight on PS4 and really looking forward to it after absolutely loving 1+2. Just Cause 3
  22. I really can't wait for E3. Halo running at 60FPS and a brand new engine is gunna be awesome!
  23. So it's nearly time for it to be revealed... what do we all want from it? FIFA 14 was a massive step back IMO after 13 being the best FIFA of all time. The headers were overpowered, defending more retarded than ever, and the keepers were a joke. It seems to me that they are just happy with their Ultimate Team cash cow and are putting in half-arsed efforts to make the gameplay better (worse). The servers were shit, lots of lag, errors in the squad files still occur to this day. What I want from 15; Fix all the above problems, I'd even be satisfied with no added features if they made the game playable and error free. 5 a side to return. Indoor 5 a side, outdoor 5 a side, 5 a side clubs, 5 a side seasons. It's so easy to do and everyone would love it, so I can't see why they wouldn't do it. Bringing online play into the career mode. They've done this with NHL so it's time to add it to FIFA. I don't want to play against a stupid ball hogging CPU. Give me real players. Add Villa Park. Most neutrals think it's one of if not the best stadiums in the PL. More skill games, as it was one of the better new features of recent times. Maybe a Trials-like game creator. Thoughts?
  24. Having played the demos of PES and FIFA, in my opinion PES edges it this year which is a large improvement. It just feels nicer to play, has the better graphics and has the correct shoot button by default. I think I may actually get PES this year after not bothering for the past 4-5 years.
