  1. So never to early to speculate and get the wish list in. I can see this being a very busy window considering how well this season has gone so far, we have a few players coming to the end of there contracts Elmo, Conor and Taylor. Realistically I don't think any will see contract extensions Conor has obviously already gone out on loan and best of luck to him. Taylor and Elmo could still both cut it in the Championship and both will leave on free in the summer. Ross Barkley's loan will end in May and chances are he will go back to Chelsea personally I don't see us signing him. So
  2. We are only 7 or so weeks (and 8 games) away from the winter window opening. There are numerous questions around what business we should look to do in January. Do we look to do any business (we should know that we are comfortably in the PL next season so should have at least another year of big money) or just keep our powder dry for the summer knowing that we won't be getting relegated and then go again next summer when it is possibly easier to make better signings? Does it depend upon where we are in the table? If we do, how many and any specific positions and/or targets?

    Josh King

According to our good friend Percy, we’ve launched a £16m bid for Josh King so I suppose it makes sense to open a post. The link to the Telegraph article is HERE I actually prefer King to Wilson. Whenever I’ve watched him he’s looked like he has more to his all round game than Wilson and I think he’d be a good signing at the sub £20m mark providing we bring in further competition (e.g. Watkins). That being said, the idea does lack a little creativity doesn’t it? “Oh, Wilson didnt want to join us... who else y’got?”.

  5. Think this one deserves its own thread now.. gathering a bit of pace. Im all for it but 20m seems steep...?
  6. The Torygraph is reporting that we're in for Trippier: Wouldn't trust that newspaper on Brexit, but on football rumours? Might be something in this.
  7. Nixon on Twitter claiming we going in hard for Édouard. Claims will be big spenders as want Watkins as well and price willing to pay putting other clubs off Be an excellent signing for me
  8. Lots of speculation over this lad coming to Aston Villa. Exciting Link
  9. Personally I'm thinking we need around 8 or 9 players. 1 striker (preferably can play out wide), 1 RW, 1 CAM/LW (Depending on where grealish plays), 1 Backup Winger/Striker, 1 CDM, 1 Keeper, 1 E Experienced CB, 1 LB.
  10. Source: Philipp Marquardt, transfermarkt.de Gladbach will Kersken mit Profivertrag ausstatten – Arsenal & Aston Villa mit Interesse Arsenal and Aston Villa want Kersken - Gladbach goalkeeper to play for England?
  11. So, keeping it realistic where possible, Is there a certain player or players you wouldn't like to see us sign during this window. (Keep it simple please ladies and gents, No squad lists of 25) I'll kick off.. Joe Hart.
  12. While we wait for any transfer action we might as well exploit the fact that nothing have really materialized yet, and play a good, old fashioned game of how much and when. So just for fun, look into your crystal ball and tell us: 1. At what date do we sign our first player this summer? No youth players or kids, only players meant for the main squad counts. 2. How many players have signed for Villa within Oct.5? Again, no youth players or kids, only players meant for the main squad counts. Number of outgoing players are irrelevant, but if you think many players will leave you might up your
  13. lets be real, we are pretty much relegated now, if we do manage to stay up, fair play and i will eat my proverbial hat. So, i would like to review the current squad and requirements next year for an attempt at automatic promotion. Current Squad: Keep: Heaton , Steer, Targett, Taylor, Engels, Konsa, Hause, Guilbert, Elmo, Nakamba, Hourihane, El Ghazi, Jota, Wesley, Samatta, Davis, [give some youth a chance also - ie: bench]. Keep if we can: Mings, McGinn, Luiz Sell/release: (inc. players we have zero chance to keep) Nyland, Bree, Lansbury, G
  14. Mods, Can you please merge with existing thread if possible. Thank you.
  15. Too soon? Ah well. Linked with Crystal Palace Norwegian striker Alexander Sörloth who is on loan at Trabzonspor in Turkey and having a great season. He certainly fits our profile as he's previously played in Belgium and we have been linked to tons of players from the Turkish league. Probably not thou, right.
  16. A lot of negativity with post like who would stay if we go down etc. Who would your first 11 be after we have stayed up and invested with quality? For me... Heaton Guilbert ben white mings targett/ antonee robinson Kalvin phillips Mcginn grealish Benrahma samatta felipe anderson Admit that my knowledge of players/wor
  17. Poch or Rafa or Sam? Or someone Fergie or Wenger reccormmend as usual?
  18. Do we have a tread for this yet? I hear a new forward might be needed in January... If not, now we do. Been linked with quite a few players already but nothing done yet as far as I know. They've posted a list of players with expiring contracts in the Mail and there are some interesting names among them. Quite a few we'd never be able to attract of course. But some that we might. So as good a start as any https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/69-players-aston-villa-could-17076711
  19. I'm not writing Wes off, however with only kodja and davis as back up, can we afford to wait till summer or will we need to get a striker / forward player in January? And if so, who could we get ?
  20. Sky Sports have linked us to France under 21 striker Jean-Kevin Augustin.
  21. Early days I know but with players being told about their futures today and tomorrow then we should have a good idea about what squad we have left and what gaps are to be filled in due course. I reckon by 1st June this will be our squad remaining. I will assume that Gardner, McCormack, Tshibola won't get a look in. I am confident we will sign at least Hause and El Ghazi and most probably Mings but I will leave him out for now. GKs Steer Kalinic Nyland RBs Elmo Guiilbert Bree LBs Taylor CBs Chester Hause RM Adomah Green LM El Ghaz
  22. An article this morning in The Times regarding Championship clubs selling then leasing back their grounds, says Villa Park may be sold if we are not promoted.
  23. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/04/11/psg-owners-may-buy-championship-club-french-media-make-links/
  24. Might as well start. According to the Birmingham Mail we are interested in Barnsley defender Liam Lindsey. He has a girls name so seem to be in line with previous transfer strategy. Anyone seen him play?
  25. With there being many threads of our players - some with debate if they're staying or leaving, this thread has been created to discuss those players who we think could, should or will be leaving us in 2019. Kicking off then, I have highlighted below those I feel who'll fall into the above imo. Orjan Nyland - So far he has been very shakey and not filled me with confidence. One I would look to sell or loan out. Jed Steer - Out of contract in June, not sure if he is worth another contract and I would let him go. Mark Bunn - Out of contract in June and barely features a
