  1. https://www.avfc.co.uk/players/u18/frankieealing/ Makes his U23 debut tonight having played a few games with the U18s this season - just turned 17 in July.
  2. Just saw him playing in goal for the England U19s and found he didn't have a thread yet. I also thought he wasn't English, but it seems that he switched allegiance from Poland lately? Saw that on transfermarkt but don't know for sure.
  3. Done and dusted, now. As someone noticed the other day, he wasn't listed as a trialist (against Wycombe, I think) so it doesn't come as a huge surprise. From what I've seen, he's a little behind some of the 18 year olds that we have (he's 19 at the time of writing) but there's clearly a lot of potential there. Think he'll benefit from a year of the academy, then maybe a loan next season depending on his progress.
  4. Had a very solid game against Wycombe tonight. Looked very assured and confident for such a young keeper. Be interesting to see how his career progresses.
  5. Cant find a thread for Hayden Lindley (18 yr old), but as he made his second senior appearance for us (his debut was versus Liverpool - in "that" game), also, his sub appearance has gone under the radar a bit due to other performances. Personally, i thought his control was very good, we didnt see much of him, but he covered at RB for Guilbert, and he had a few long balls across field pinged towards him, and ii thought he controlled them beautifully. Lindley is a DM apparently, but his debut was at RB (as above). Best of luck young Hayden.
  6. Juventus looking to sell. Surely one or two years left in the tank...
  7. I thought as he is 19, might deserve his own thread (courtesy of BOF who posted the signing in the youth thread originally). Seems he can play striker or LW. Is he highly rated? Imagine, we could feasibly have 4 players in the team who are brothers lol, Caleb Chuka, Carney Chuka, J.,Ramsey, A.Ramsey. ------- CALEB CHUKWUEMEKA MAKES PREMIER LEAGUE MOVE Academy product joins Aston Villa https://www.ntfc.co.uk/news/2021/august/caleb_chukwuemeka/ Northampton Town striker Caleb Chukwuemeka has signed for Premier League side Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee. and a vid for you....
  8. Played Wing Back today for the U23's, Looks a talent and half. Plays for England youth already. One for the future
  9. Been linked with Mario Hermoso from Atlético Madrid. He’s a good centre back, he played a fair bit last year in their title winning season. Atleti are my second team so I’d like to think I’ve seen him more than most on this forum, and he did well last season from what I remember. Thoughts?
  10. Happy with this? Or did you still want Cantwell
  11. Percys story about Jack from this morning has been updated from the 'more to follow' it ended with earlier. This is the new bits, linking us to Sarr https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/07/30/exclusive-manchester-city-make-jack-grealish-transfer-bid-100million/
  12. Aston Villa is pleased to announce the signing of Tim Iroegbunam. The midfielder, 18, joins Villa's Academy from West Bromwich Albion, where he came through the ranks after joining their Under-8s. Iroegbunam has attended England age group training camps in the past and Academy manager Mark Harrison believes he has a bright future. Harrison said: “Tim is an athletic midfielder who is technically very good. “He has the ability to play as a holding midfielder or a box-to-box midfielder, who can contribute in both penalty areas. “Tim has a lot of potential and we look forward to seeing him develop over the next few years.” AVFC
  13. Who would you have preferred at Villa?
  14. https://www.footballinsider247.com/aston-villa-cantwell-talks/ Wicked player, would love him to join. But could it be a sign Jack is off? Edit: just noticed this is a blacklist source, close thread if need be.
  15. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9809733/Aston-Villa-eyeing-30million-swoop-Bayer-Leverkusen-star-Leon-Bailey.html
  16. Figured this might be worthy of it's own thread given a couple of sources have quoted us as being interested today... I can't say I know a lot about him...
  17. Another highly rated youth prospect through the door, who’s played for the Bournemouth first team. A substantial fee involved. I absolutely love what the owners are creating at Villa. Welcome Ajani.
  18. Aston Villa Women are pleased to announce the signing of Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah on a two-year deal. https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2021/july/Chantelle-Boye-Hlorkah-joins-Villa-Women-/
  19. Sarah Mayling says she ‘can’t wait to get started’ as she prepares to begin a second stint in claret & blue. https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2021/july/Sarah-Mayling-joins-Villa-Women-/
  20. Since we have apparently started creating individual threads for our female signings here we go with another one
  21. Aston Villa make first move to sign Man Utd’s Axel Tuanzebe Aston Villa have now registered their interest in Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe amid a potential summer transfer move. Reports in recent weeks have claimed that the centre-back could be set for a reunion with Dean Smith, having, of course, played under the Villa boss during their time in the Championship And now, Football Insider have revealed that Villa have now made an approach for the defender by registering their interest in him and that they will make an official move for him if given the encouragement to do so. It’s added that: “Smith wants a young defender with Premier League experience to provide cover and competition for first-choice duo Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa. Tuanzebe has been targeted as he fits the profile of the recruitment team and has the potential to develop.” The £7.2m-rated centre-back has earned rave reviews for his performances for United last season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer waxing lyrical about him after he stopped PSG and Kylian Mbappe in the Champions League. He said: “Axel’s a tremendous defender, a great leader. He’s come through the academy and we’ve known for years that he’s going to be a top player for us and he’s got the character and the attitude that a Man United player should have. Sometimes you’ll get in a foot race with Mbappe and you have to run with him and we know Axel’s qualities, he’s a top defender.” Given the £50k-a-week earning ace has already played under Smith, he should be able to hit the ground running, especially with his experience of Premier League football at United too. Tuanzebe featured 35 times in his one season at Villa, including starting in the club’s Championship play-offs run that earned them promotion back to the Premier League. Villa fans will surely be buzzing at the prospect of another, young English talent heading to Villa Park and joining the likes of Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa as Smith’s impressive centre-back options, especially with Bjorn Engels’ recent departure. Good news.
