I remember beating west Ham 3-0 under kev Mac and there being similar scenes of joy , next game we lost 6-0 at Newcastle - danks  did great today but the sooner we make a permanent appointment the better

    And we play Newcastle next.

Whoever it is will get my unequivical support, from day 1

I just hope we have a unified fanbase, to give him FULL support.

So Bruce, McLeish, Allardyce, Dyche would get your full support from day one? That's not support mate, that's just blind faith!

Why?  They've made two mangerial appointments so far.  They got one right and one wrong.  So that's a 50% hit rate - which is a long way away from a 0% chance.

They hung on to them both too long and wasted almost a ⅓ of a season in the process. We now have to hope for mid table at best for the 2nd season running!

  4. We have made no progress since we got promoted. We are now just as bad as our first season back in the PL. Thanks NSWE for your lack of ambition, foresight, nouse & your stubborness for sticking with a failed project. You have a lot to answer for!

If the owners are present on Sunday and we’re losing causing the fans to turn on Gerrard I can’t see any other outcome tbh

Maybe if the fans turned on the owners for their incompetence in appointing Gerrard in the first place and their reluctance to sack him despite Smithesque results and performances then they might take notice!

  6. After years of McLeish, Lambert, Sherwood, Bruce, Smith & Gerrard type managers is it unreasonable to expect that our mega rich owners should appoint a decent manager for a change? Is it unreasonable to expect that we can get a Guardiola, Klopp, Ancelotti, Conte type manager or should we just accept our fate as Villa fans and be grateful for the shit our owners serve up no matter who runs the club? I am fortunate enough to remember the days when our owners employed someone that could get us promoted, win us the League Cup, the First Division Title & the European Cup. I hope that my son gets to see something close to that as all he has experienced is mediocrity in our good times and relegation in our bad times. NSWE breezed into VP with a shit load of money and a grand 5 year plan. This is the 5th year of their 5 year plan and we are miles from where they stated that they wanted to be. I am beginning to lose faith in them and I am feeling like I was duped. Sorry if this comes across as rather negative but over 50 years of supporting AVFC means I generally can see the wood for the trees.

    Exactly.

Precisely why I find it so strange that it blows a few peoples minds when some intimate they’d would rather we just lose and get rid of him sooner. There’s a huge potential for him to linger around like a bad smell and write off the whole season.

If losses against Leeds and Forest would have been the end of him who wouldn’t have taken it in hindsight? 2 points worse off but we lose the gangrenous limb and are much better off for it over the course of the season and beyond.

Some people can't see the bigger picture.
