Croatia have just reached their first ever world cup final... incredible considering they're a nation of only 4 million people. They'll be overjoyed whatever happens now.

Southgate pretty much did the best he possibly could with the tools at his disposal, in my opinion. Still, they blew an incredible opportunity to reach the final. It's going to be a very long time indeed before I regain interest in international football after this, personally.

I agree. England had a golden opportunity here, and it's unlikely they'll ever get it again (at least in my lifetime).

I didn't say they're a shoe in for the semis. I'm well aware England are over hyped and overrated but their squad is still stronger than Colombia, Sweden and Switzerland's. To not beat them would be a failure in my eyes (especially when you take into account all the players Southgate rested for the Belgium game).

Anything less than England reaching the semi-finals would be a failure now.
