  1. Clichy, Milner, Lescott and 10 million. Or instead of the 10 million, how about Dzeko/Guidette? No matter what happens I hope we play Guidetti or loan him to you next season if/when you sell Bent. The way he was treated by Mancini was shambolic.
  2. How much do you want for him? Do you think Villa will sell or hold?
  3. Hire RDM or Rijkaard, basically any manager who can coach your players on how to defend set pieces. Good luck, hope you can avoid the drop!
  4. Congrats lads, thank **** that's over. Now appoint Di Canio
  5. Congratulations, what a day it must be for you all! Would rather City win the title than United any day. Thanks mate. Get rid of that muppet McLeish and back to where you belong, ie top 6.
  6. How about a sheikh? Just a suggestion. 8) Yanks don't make the best owners as it turns out
  7. Cheers mate! I think you already have enough points to stay up, hope you get a decent manager for next season.
  8. If you survive this season, you have a chance if you hire the right manager. Vincenzo Montella from Catania or maybe... Paolo Di Canio 8) At some point even a man of Lerner's limited ability must realise he should delegate responsibility to someone who knows something about football.
  9. Let's face it, he relegated one club and he's trying his hardest to do the double. Hiring him was diabolical.
  10. He also has one of the worst NFL team every year, the Browns. Hapless for over a decade under his "leadership" Hope you get rescued by some Arab owner or something. Lerner is a clueless muppet.
  11. You're still getting 'defend deep and attack on the break' mixed up with 'defend deep and wait for the final whistle'. Not trying to be argumentative here, but I was shitting it the last 10 minutes. My squeaky bum is evidence you did not just wait for the final whistle.
  12. I think you'd change your tune if you had McLeish managing your club. I probably would, because then I'd have to watch it on a weekly basis and be fed up with it. Just saying, objectively it has worked more than once this season against us. Sunderland got a win out of it too. It's probably the most consistently successful strategy against us from clubs outside the top 4. Stay narrow, don't concede, don't be adventurous until the 75th minute after we've exhausted ourselves against a brick wall.
  13. Not sure you can say it was excellent, an excellent game plan wins a game. It wasn't bad though. You almost nicked a draw. Opening up against us can lead to big scorelines. McLeish was just hoping to keep it close and get a goal. Don't get me wrong, I never rated McLeish at all. But when it works for Moyes he's a genius, and when it fails for McLeish he's a terrible manager. That's football.
  14. Can't believe there are Villa fans who think it would be better to sell Bent. He is the one man that every club fears. Did us at your home last year, did us when we played Sunderland. McLeish will just 'reinvest' in some old donkey like Kevin Davies. The rest will be pocketed.
  15. NFL watcher for almost 20 years, watched the Browns since they've been owned by Lerner. Where were they 10 years ago when Lerner took over? Bottom. Last season? Bottom. This year? Bottom. They're one of the few teams to achieve almost nothing over an entire decade. Lerner is a nice bloke but doesn't have a clue about running a sports franchise.
  16. Was hoping for a result here, not going to happen it looks like. Can't believe Lerner hired this guy. **** **** ****.
  17. Some of the things I learned from reading this thread Jean Makoun should be playing in the CL instead of riding the bench in Greece Deschamps, currently 9th in Ligue 1, is a good scout France has topped Spain and Brazil as the dominant country for developing players
  18. I'm not on a wind up. There was a Villa fan on this forum who told me last season that Milner is crap for his first season but then becomes quality, I said I didn't believe it. But he was right. Whoever you are, fair play.
  19. Watched this game. I think you could have bossed them if you'd had a real go. They couldn't trouble your goal because they don't have the quality, Bothroyd isn't even a PL footballer. But you sat back too often, giving waaaay too much respect to their players- they are after all mostly Championship players.
  20. It's the same 3-4 who continually enjoy taking the piss out of AVFC, probably folks who have dreamed up some reason to hate Villa. They were challenged by other City fans. http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=231285 Any football fan who isn't taking the piss knows the factors that played into that attendance, and they have nothing to do with poor support. Outside of the promoted clubs Villa easily has the most support in our weekly PL football threads. 8)
  21. Probably not, but by saying they would be prepared to it's forced Man City into paying over the odds, again. I would be perfectly fine with that. We can get him in a year for free. 8)
  22. You've got yourselves a fine keeper. He's worth 8 points a season, easy. Goodbye, Shay!
  23. That's an appallingly stupid comment. No basis for it whatsoever. Some of our players are from Villa, are they now half breeds? Most City fans I know like Villa. Regarding Shay, he is a top class keeper. I personally think it will be the best bit of business available. Arsenal fans were getting angry that you were pursuing him and Wenger wasn't. He's top 4 caliber.
  24. I think it's all looking good for Villa. He wants to come, meaning he may reduce his wage demands. He is the type of keeper who will save you 7 or more points. Most City fans considered him better than Hart but the age difference (and dare I say nationality) settled the issue. Really would prefer him going to a class club like Villa.
