  1. I think Gary Neville summed it up nicely when he said Chelsea were billion pound bottle jobs. Fair play to Liverpool's youngsters.
  2. Before my time but he is just one of those players that surely every Villa fan should know of and I'd imagine most of us have seen that league cup final goal. The last few years must have been horrible for both him and his family and hopefully they have found peace now. RIP Chris. Villa legend and now HEITS.
  3. I reckon by the middle of next week. The racist, one brain cell at most, prick is perfect for them.
  4. I've got to be honest I don't think he has done a lot wrong all season. I know some question whether he is good enough for a side challenging for top 6/top 4 but as things stand now after 26 league games he has 23 appearances (19 starts) and has held his own whilst we have been top 4 for much of the season.
  5. Attitude and his readiness to step in then we have now worries with him. I think he did well today but would rather he isn't needed again this season.
  6. Just watched this. I didn't have a clue about the family before hand and won't say too much so as not to spoil it for others. Well worth watching though. Thought Zac Efron was excellent in it and fair play to him bulking up.
  7. Looked terrible earlier. The firefighters managed to rescue the two people trapped on the balcony.
  8. Actor/comedian Ewen Macintosh, best known as Keith from The Office, has died aged 50.
  9. Brehme was a great player. Remember watching him at VP in 1990 when we beat Inter Milan 2-0.
  10. I wonder how many of the deluded fools are getting carried away and thinking they can do a Villa and win 10 on the trot, storm into the playoffs and get promoted.
  11. Based on our last two league performances if we play as well in this game then I can't see anything other than a win for us. We were excellent against Sheff Utd and Man Utd the only difference in the Man Utd game is that we were wasteful with the chances we created as on another day we'd have won that game by a couple of goals at least. I'm going for a high scoring game 2-4.
  12. The more I have thought about this today the more I am just not getting the doom and gloom throw in the towel bollocks. Our next 3 are Fulham, Forest and Luton. It doesn't take an eternal optimist to think we can take 6-9 points from those games. In terms of injuries to potential starters long term we have Kamara, Mings and Buendia out for the season. Given the above it is not a stretch to think we could we go into the Spurs game with Konsa back from injury, Torres and Digne having started a couple of games and back up to speed, only Kamara, Buendia and Ming's missing and be a decent amount of points better off than we are now. I might even push the boat out and go as far to say we could well be above Spurs who are at present one point ahead of us.
  13. If you wanted a run of games to try to rebuild a bit of confidence, and get a young defensive midfielder up to speed, then the next three wouldn't be a bad place to look. Take 7 or 9 points from those and our prospects will look very different to what they do now. I get that supporters are a little down but I wouldn't swap places with any of the teams behind us. 5 points on the team in 6th (and a +18 goal difference over them) and 10 points on the team in 7th, is still a very good place to be.
  14. Even if he was still here it is unlikely that Emery would have played him. When Kamara got suspended for 3 games in December he was on the bench for two of those games, coming on for 2 minutes in total, and started the defeat at Man Utd (his only league start of the season). In total he had played less than 2 hours of Prem league football this season.
  15. Crikey 20 people have voted the managers performance as poor or very poor. I assume therefore those supporters feel the manager picked completely the wrong team/got the tactics completely wrong/didn't have the players fired up or motivated. Amazing really how we somehow in the main dominated and outplayed the team currently 6th in the premier league. Where we did on occasion look vulnerable today, defensively, which ultimately cost us, it is probably worth factoring in that we are currently playing our 4th and 5th best centre backs. Seriously if we have supporters who think that performance warrants giving the manager a very poor/poor rating you either have very, very, very short memories and have forgotten what poor management looks like or have just started following us in which case if you stick around long enough you'll eventually come to realise what poor management really looks like.
  16. He has had some stick recently but he was really good today. Put a real shift in, got forward well and was solid defensively.
  17. Aside from his finishing he was his old self today and his best performance in a long time. Hopefully as he gets more games under his belt, and regains his match sharpness, that side of his game will also come. One of the big positives from today.
  18. We play as we did today in our remaining games we'll win way more than we lose. Just the final ball/finish lacking at times but overall we looked really good. I'd have snapped your hand off at the start of the season to be where we are now with 14 games to go so whilst disappointed with some recent results/performances, and frustrated today that we didn't get what we deserved, the overall perspective is still positive. Top 5 is still very much in our hands.
  19. Just looking at their league results since they beat us at OT a few weeks ago. Loss at Forest, drew with Spurs and last two they have beat Wolves and West Ham so like us two wins, a draw and defeat in the league since we last played. There is nothing for us to fear here as this isn't a great Man Utd side. We play to our best and they play to their best then I think at a rocking VP we win. I am hoping the recent defeats at VP will have been a kick up the arse and we'll look to keep it tight and the starting line up may well reflect that. If we can go into the last 30 minutes still level I really fancy us. 2-0 to us, 11 points clear of these bastards by full time and cementing ourselves in the top 5 with the primary debate over the coming weeks being where in that top 5 we'll finish.
  20. That is a penalty. If that is an outfield player, or the keeper, and a player misses the ball with his legs and then connects with a player the way the keeper has there with his arms then that is given as a free kick every time. Just to compound the misery for Forest Newcastle have now scored.
  21. What a massive opportunity tomorrow is for us as a win and we can almost cement a top 5 finish (and a good chance of champ league qualification) barring a final 3rd of the season total collapse. Tomorrow we can go 11 points clear of Man Utd, 14 clear of Brighton after their loss today and with West Ham up against Arsenal a very good chance to go 13 clear of them. Huge game tomorrow. Bring it on.
  22. I knew as soon as I had the notification that you'd quoted me in this topic my chips were about to be pissed on I have just checked and also had the cancellation email.
  23. The attendance was 40,013. From where I was in the Holte looking around the only area of really noticeable empty seats was the centre of the Trinity Road and the first 3 or 4 rows of the upper north which were netted off. As for the atmosphere I actually thought it was fine and even at 3 down the crowd were getting right behind the players which I think helped in that we did keep pushing including getting the late goal. Those that were still there at the end, which was still a decent amount, clapped the players off and Watkins, Emi, McGinn and Lenglet I remember all coming up to the Holte at the end. I think we give ourselves a hard time sometimes. Bottom line is that we were 1 down early and I remember the crowd reacting and chanting before we had even kicked off to re start the game, but then we were quickly 2 down. Then you hope for a rally kicking towards the Holte in the second half to find ourselves 3 down early in that half. What happens on the pitch obviously hugely affects crowd reaction.
  24. I assume you are a season ticket holder? if so and you purchased on the day they were released, which by the sounds of it you did, then this game will have been uploaded to your season ticket and you get in using that as you normally would.
