    Hmm, Ings is the only exit that bothers me. I would’ve kept hold of him until the summer and taking the hit on a lower fee. I think we are weaker as a result as we look a bit light upfront.

    Emery stated he wanted a winger this window so it’s pretty poor of us if we don’t sign one. Still, there is enough time until the window ends so I’m not too worried.

    The lack of quality and consistency between them all is a concern. If Kamara gets injured the drop off will be noticeable. If Europe wasn’t a possibility I would agree but as we actually have a chance…

    I’ve seen this club make some strange decisions over the years. (The CB issue under Bruce for example, Jedinak at CB anyone?) I’d like to think we are more prepared these days so I trust the club have a plan..

    With Palace I think how they handle the Zaha situation will be key. He is out of contract in the summer and he is 30, you would think he would sign on but you never know these days. He would obviously command more in salary but at age 30 the duration of contract will probably be the problem for Palace, can't see them being too happy giving anything over 3 years? Basically they need to start planning life after Zaha I think at this point.

    Age wise i'm not really bothered about it, whilst he may be the exception not the rule Ash Young has shown us as long as the player keeps on top of fitness he can give us atleast 3-4 years which for the price of £12m or whatever it is isn't too bad.

    That is normal (more games to analyse) but this run is not a new manager bounce. Yesterday for example we were actually losing.. he made changes and we drew and almost won it at the end. That isn't a bounce.. it's more of a tactical nous which has been sorely lacking at Villa Park for years now.

    This is still Gerrard’s team so based on that alone he is doing amazingly well considering how unbalanced it is. Hopefully he can get some of his own players in this window and we can really push on.
