  1. I said the poster was implying those that brought him in were stupid, there is a huge difference between the two, but you've obviously struggled to see that. And a grammatical error, is just an error, not an own goal. You've got to be a right tw*t to try and use that as some sort of rebuttal. I wasn't even responding to you originally so why would I care if you rate Emery or not? You absolutely crackers
  2. Get a life..... it was just a typo ffs. If players aren't any good yet we are signing them or bring them in it suggests those bring them in don't have a clue. Or at least not as much as posters on this forum.
  3. This is where you let yourself down. Your basically saying our new Sporting Director and Manager are stupid.
  4. Haven't we already paid a sizeable chunk for the loan period somewhere around 9m? I could be wrong but sure I read it was around that figure. So in essence it's a fee we'll never get back or have to write off if he goes back to Turkey in the interim. Buying him outright might cost another 15m? Potentially a figure that if he finds form and gets back on track would be a snip in 12 -18 months. Bailey cost 30m and was write off as a failure buy many, too injury prone , too weak, now look at him. I think people can be very short sighted when looking at players. Basically if they don't hit it off straight away they're regarded as failures. You could look around the PL and some of the best players over the last several years were seen as failures or not good enough before eventually turning it around and becoming legends at their current clubs. Salah, De Bruyne are two that spring to mind straight away. Discarded by Chelsea to come back and become PL icons. They are the exceptions but short termism does seem to be the general view of fans rather than looking at the bigger picture. Not saying Zaniolo deserves or may even want to stay, but the idea players, especially from abroad need to hit the ground running is for those that have no patience nor understand that some players need to settle before you'll ever see the best of them.
  5. I don't think it's just down to him but neither him or Torres are the quickest, so I think having Konsa in there is a necessity. We've not played the offside trap well since before Christmas tbf. I think the injuries and continual changes have massively unsettled us in defence but imo we really need to stabilise this during the run in and try not to tinker too much.
  6. I watch a lot of games, do you? Do you also understand that some players can take longer to adapt to different cultures or do you just expect players to come in and always hit the ground running? Zaniolo hasn't so far had the impact most would've hoped for, there is no denying that. What I find hard to agree with are the continual comments slagging him off, writing him off as shit, saying he'll never amount to much or not considering the above. Reputation counts for a lot in all walks of life and careers, that's just how it is. To have been, seen and done is a better guarantee than to have none. It's not a knock on Rogers either but they is no guarantee he will also turn out to be more than just Championship level. The other point to make is, if Zaniolo doesn't stay in England is he a failure? What if he ends up back in Italy at Lazio, Milan or any of the other big teams, is he still shit or are players that only make it in the PL any good?! You don't have to answer that btw. At the end of the day all fans should want every player, loanee or otherwise to do well whilst wearing the shirt. And yes, we all moan from time to time about individual performances, but this kid has taken more than his fair share of pelters, so imo deserves a little bit of slack.
  7. Ohhh..... so now Zaniolo just won't play at the top level with us, not in general like your previous post. Zaniolo is 24 not late 20's, he's had 2 years already out the game due to injuries and still come back. He may never be the player he once was but he may also have his best years in front of him. Rogers may never get anywhere near that level but it's still okay to dismiss the loanee for no reason other than to criticise him. You're okay, insulting and criticising others but can't take a little yourself. I get it!
  8. Lol.....what an absolute dumb post. On one hand you say him and Rogers are the same level, pin point them as doing the same stuff and then say Zaniolo will amount to not making it at this level again, yet Roger needs developing quickly as he's our player. Zaniolo has played for Roma, Galatasaray and will most likely end up at somewhere decent back in Italy. So 100% he's still got a great career ahead of him. Far better as a footballer than yours as a poster on this forum ffs
  9. Peak Ramsey?! He hasn't been fit or anywhere near his peak all season so needs must unfortunately. There is also a lot of difference between Rogers and Zaniolo, one has played at the highest level in Europe for several years, the other has played in the championship. You also don't know if the club will trigger Zaniolo's option to buy, it's pure speculation on behalf of the fans that presume because he hasn't settled quickly and not starting Emery will just bin him off. Even if we do send him back he'll be still playing at the top level so he's obviously not as shit as some like to make out.
  10. More nonsense. Zaniolo is our player currently, and if he's playing well then should be playing. If we followed your thought process, Chambers would be in front of Lenglet ffs. The other point is why do we need to develop Rogers quickly, why not just let him develop instead of putting undue pressure on him too.
  11. The amount of grief he's had, on this forum alone lol. Instead of giving him props for doing well, pulling the game back, posters and so called fans still can't help themselves but look for any bullshit reason to have a pop at him. He's got every right to react however he feels, if people take offence, tough shit, grow a pair. He was excellent yesterday and if people were actually willing to give him time to settle instead of the continual nonsense he gets we'd more than likely see performances like yesterday on a regular basis. But no, back to the bullshit. So many dickheads in our fanbase.
  12. Not sure how anyone can claim Russia is a dictatorship when Putin won the election fair and square
  13. Definitely should only be used as an LCB. I don't want to give him too much grief though because he's been decent imo. Poor today though, although the defence in general was.
  14. Looks to have got his mojo back at just the right time. Excellent when he came on.
  15. I disagree.... He was playing in an unfamiliar position at the start of the season and since then has had nothing but scraps. He's not been great but how any players take time to settle anyway coming from abroad.
  16. Me too. We are definitely in the minority atm but I think he could become the player we need off Ollie at times. Needs to be calmer at times but I think he could settle given time and become a valuable asset to the squad. I really like him tbh. He's definitely a handful when he's on it.
  17. I wasn't disappointed with the line up but it was obvious in the first half it wasn't working. Moreno and Rogers were being overrun and Duran could'nt get into the game at all. He switched it up and viola, a much better finish to the game, arguably the stronger of the 2 sides. What I was happy about was the willingness to switch it up asap, ie HT rather than letting us get to the last 20 mins so at least Unai spotted the problems and sorted them quickly. What he now needs to do though is sort the defence because at the moment it's seriously letting us down. For a team that looked fantastic playing the offside trap and being positionally organised we now look like a load of drunkards at the back. It's concerning now we're down to the business end of the season.
  18. He was telling the WH fans. They were in the same end next to the Villa fans.
  19. Deserves more minutes imo. I think the kid needs some love to get the best out of him, and I think he's got far more in his locker than we've seen up to now, but that will have given him a great boost today. When you consider the time out through injuries(2 years) he's still a baby. I think it's easy to forget that. Well done Nico!!
  20. Phew..... I thought we finished with the team that should've started. Much better last 30 min. Zaniolo and Diaby imo deserve the plaudits. Both came on and made a huge difference and changed the flow. Matty Cash too. gave him pelters many times this season but thank the lord for that block. The defence....WTF. Unai seriously needs to resolve our stupidity at the back. For a eam that looked so good early doors we've become a very sloppy team in defence.
  21. Shirt pull on Konsa, then handball. Absolute bollocks
