  1. Such sad sad news.....I was not only fortunate to see him play on a regs during his heyday but also very very fortunate to spend several hours with him and a few other players last year at a private gathering. What a wonderful individual, along with the others of course.

Was also told a story about how he approached one of our current players to have a chat who told him in no uncertain terms to f*** off. The player probably didn't realise who he was being approached by but that individual could never hold a torch to the bloke he dismissed. Sid hadn't forgotten that moment so it obviously still bothered him.

Arguably the best set piece specialist with the ability to put the ball from anywhere on a sixpence, one of our greatest wingers and without doubt a Villa legend for eternity. He'll never be alone because he has some of the greatest teammates anyone could wish for and a fanbase that adore him. Best wishes our Sid. 💜 💙

Yeah, thats another thing I don't get - why do people feel the need to deface/ruin them? People are odd.

Because they're generally hateful and ignorant individuals, who if given the opportunity couldn't produce anything of note themselves so feel better defacing or dismissing what others do. It's quite simple really.

I highly doubt this ISIS attack was a false flag operation. It doesn't seem plausible to me, but I wouldn't put anything past the FSB. I definitely would believe the four suspects are just random brown people they found who can fulfil the role of perpetrators.

I think what may come across as implausible to most can be very plausible.

Not everything has to make sense to us. However, considering another 100,000 Russians have recently signed military contracts it is plausible that a void internally needs filling to increase security forces throughout Russia. Also, if you threaten the majority of the population with the idea of internal terrorist events becoming a more frequent occurrence then you'll also have more of the pacifists coming forward to potentially fill security voids across the board. After all terrorism can focus a whole population when it's on your own doorstep.

I'm not saying this is what's happening but it's certainly possible especially considering some of the questionable events around the atrocity the other day.

Russia are also engaging in a proxy war with France in Central Africa too, which is why imo there has been a significant increase in the rhetoric about the French putting troops into Ukraine. There is a lot more going on now than many people realise imo.

lol probably. Maybe they just got bored of waiting for the cops to show up and the inevitable fire fight and their mindset changed to ‘we might actually be able to get away with this’

I do not buy that..... They're in virtually the centre of Russia. Getting away or getting out alive would be extremely difficult, regardless of how docile Russian security forces may appear on TV.

  5. Something just doesn't add up for me regarding this terrorist attack.

    • 4 men who has previously carried out a recon on the same building when security was very tight.
    • A serious lack onsite security during this event a short time after, considering over 6k were in attendance. Apparently there was only several unarmed guards at the time.
    • Then a response time of over an hour for proper security forces to arrive, especially considering reports indicate the building has it's own Police Station and Russia are currently on a war footing.

Most weirdly of all, they've captured them without that ending in a bloodbath or the culprits taking their own lives, and knowing full well they'd be tortured when captured. I think the whole thing stinks tbh. Anyone willing to kill 137 innocent civilians isn't going to give a shit about survival after carrying out that sort of atrocity and in such a blatant manner. It was always a suicide mission.

He's a great guy, maybe will do well in Serie A, but won't mean not signing him was a mistake, perhaps just better suited to that league

Or perhaps he just needs a bit of patience. There is no evidence to suggest that given time he wouldn't adapt to the PL, just like many top players

In his defence, he's probably gone through a pretty turbulent period, starting off with getting to grips with the UK and then going through the betting scandal.

Can our players stop doing interviews, nothing good comes from it at all.

I don't blame him if there is any truth in it tbh. He's wasted time here, so it makes sense to look for a way out back to Italy where he more than likely find appreciation and ultimately get his career back on track. He's been sitting on the bench for over 3 months and slated so whether people agree or not he has a right to look after his own interests.

In the end the yellow was soft, but he could have been booked earlier. Had an alright game to be fair, Italy not exactly firing on all cylinders at all but he was alright.

Italy aren't great atm but he's got far more chance of winning something with them over the next few years than Konsa or Watkins have with England. 😐

This is ''scare mongering'' and click bait from John Townley and the Birmingham Mail.....and Trentvilla get's it

Townley's come across as an utter drama clown here.

Leon didn't slight Villa at all, he just spoke the truth. Unfortunately, in the Villa bubble it's all about Villa but outside we've been nothing but existing for the last 14 years. Not won a trophy since the nineties however, Chelsea, Utd, Liverpool, City and Arsenal have mopped up nearly everything in the last 25 years so it's normal those outside the bubble have different perspectives. I think it's pretty disgusting from Townley to come out with this shit tbh and wouldn't be surprised if he does create a backlash towards Leon with the clown brigade.

Things are changing around the club, even the perspective that we have now arrived back at the top table under the owners and Emery. People are slowly seeing the club in a different light again and in a positive way, everyone should be trying to keep it that way, not cause discontent.

Ah come on. You call people stupid, then make a grammatical error. That's an open goal.

If I don't rate a player we sign, it's got nothing to do with how highly I rate Emery.

Live in whatever world you like.

I said the poster was implying those that brought him in were stupid, there is a huge difference between the two, but you've obviously struggled to see that. And a grammatical error, is just an error, not an own goal. You've got to be a right tw*t to try and use that as some sort of rebuttal. I wasn't even responding to you originally so why would I care if you rate Emery or not? You absolutely crackers 😂

    Also, no.

Get a life..... it was just a typo ffs.

If players aren't any good yet we are signing them or bring them in it suggests those bring them in don't have a clue. Or at least not as much as posters on this forum.

Or it is because he isn't very good.

This is where you let yourself down.

Your basically saying our new Sporting Director and Manager are stupid.

I'm not blaming him only , but is it me since he come in the side the leaking of goals started.

I don't think it's just down to him but neither him or Torres are the quickest, so I think having Konsa in there is a necessity. We've not played the offside trap well since before Christmas tbf. I think the injuries and continual changes have massively unsettled us in defence but imo we really need to stabilise this during the run in and try not to tinker too much.

Do you watch the games or just judge players based on their reputation?

I want all players to do well for us, really happy Zaniolo scored yesterday and has shown signs of improvement in the last few weeks, but it’s clear he’s not had the desired impact this season hence his game time has been limited in the last 3 or 4 months, regardless of who he has or hasn’t played for previously. Rogers is obviously still raw, but he’ll be playing PL with us next season, not sure any PL clubs will pick Zaniolo up to be honest.

I watch a lot of games, do you?

Do you also understand that some players can take longer to adapt to different cultures or do you just expect players to come in and always hit the ground running?

Zaniolo hasn't so far had the impact most would've hoped for, there is no denying that. What I find hard to agree with are the continual comments slagging him off, writing him off as shit, saying he'll never amount to much or not considering the above. Reputation counts for a lot in all walks of life and careers, that's just how it is. To have been, seen and done is a better guarantee than to have none. It's not a knock on Rogers either but they is no guarantee he will also turn out to be more than just Championship level.

The other point to make is, if Zaniolo doesn't stay in England is he a failure? What if he ends up back in Italy at Lazio, Milan or any of the other big teams, is he still shit or are players that only make it in the PL any good?! You don't have to answer that btw.

At the end of the day all fans should want every player, loanee or otherwise to do well whilst wearing the shirt. And yes, we all moan from time to time about individual performances, but this kid has taken more than his fair share of pelters, so imo deserves a little bit of slack.

I think you missing the point that Rogers is much younger than Zaniolo and his carrier still has upwards trajectory.

Zaniolos seems to be going downhill since that Europa League final. Maybe he can turn it around, but I don't think it will be with us.

Insulting other posters doesn't make your points more valid.

Ohhh..... so now Zaniolo just won't play at the top level with us, not in general like your previous post. Zaniolo is 24 not late 20's, he's had 2 years already out the game due to injuries and still come back. He may never be the player he once was but he may also have his best years in front of him. Rogers may never get anywhere near that level but it's still okay to dismiss the loanee for no reason other than to criticise him.

You're okay, insulting and criticising others but can't take a little yourself. I get it!

He might have played at a high level in the past but is not showing it now. Both of themdo the same thing most of the time: dribble yourself into a cul de sac, loose the ball, foul the opponent.

I would be surprised if he ever plays at this level again.

Lol.....what an absolute dumb post. On one hand you say him and Rogers are the same level, pin point them as doing the same stuff and then say Zaniolo will amount to not making it at this level again, yet Roger needs developing quickly as he's our player.

Zaniolo has played for Roma, Galatasaray and will most likely end up at somewhere decent back in Italy. So 100% he's still got a great career ahead of him. Far better as a footballer than yours as a poster on this forum ffs 😂

He is not playing well though. He has not played well all season. Scoring one goal doesn't equal playing well.

Currently there's not much between him and Rogers, both are big downgrade from peak Ramsay.

Rogers has a future at this club, Zaniolo clearly doesn't (otherwise Emery would start him)

Peak Ramsey?! He hasn't been fit or anywhere near his peak all season so needs must unfortunately.

There is also a lot of difference between Rogers and Zaniolo, one has played at the highest level in Europe for several years, the other has played in the championship.

You also don't know if the club will trigger Zaniolo's option to buy, it's pure speculation on behalf of the fans that presume because he hasn't settled quickly and not starting Emery will just bin him off. Even if we do send him back he'll be still playing at the top level so he's obviously not as shit as some like to make out.
