I misread your post Shillz and thought you ordered a packet of crisps through the post, which had a spider in it! I wondered where in West Midlands would deliver a bag of crisps!!!..... Dragons Den.. Me thinks...
  2. Do I have to 'root' my S2 to get rid of the rubbish samsung apps? Samsung Suggests, Media Hub, Social Hub, News Hub, blah blah blah! They're all rubbish and I never use them. I downloaded Launcher Pro but it changes the layout of the apps and makes them scroll vertically instead of horizontally... and I'm used to my horizontal scrolling, like an iphone. Is there anything else I can download that literally just moves/ hides any unwanted apps?
  3. Take the rose tinted Villa youngster glasses off and look at what other Premiership sides are putting out in Midfield...... You've listed a Blackpool Championship player of the year who couldnt get a game for Leeds last year An overpriced league One Midfielder A player who has played 10 minutes in HK. Its funny how a players stock rises by not playing. :? You must have missed where I said As someone who has seen the majority, if not all, of Delph's performances; I believe he is more than 'an overpriced league one midfielder'. He has a good all-round game, he has a decent shot, an eye for a pass, has a bit of pace & is great with the ball at his feet, running at players. He hasn't shown his full potential this year, but I partly blame that on the system. He has a few attributes to be a decent holding midfielder, but he's better when he gets to roam forward and attack. Barry Bannan, though he couldn't get a game in a settled Leeds side last season, has been, in my opinion, one of our better players this year. He is always looking for the ball, has linked play up well and has come close to scoring on a few occasions. With a settled side/ players back on form, I believe he would be a great first-team option. Gary Gardner hasn't shown much in the first team, as of yet, but he has a lot of potential and I have seen him play in a few reserve games, where he's always impressed Me. It's my opinion that... IN THE FUTURE... those 3 could be a great central midfield trio (if their development continues successfully). Barry'sBoots, I disagree about it being too lightweight. I don't think we necessarily need a DM in a midfield. Is it not enough to have 2 midfielders who can chip in with defensive work? Milner & Petrov worked well, mainly because Milner runs all over the place.. But neither of them are established defensive midfielders (I suppose Stan has gradually turned into one, but I wouldn't describe him as a defensive monster who could sit back while the creative players attack). I think that Delph and Gardner both have enough about them to do defensive work, with Bannan roaming about infront. Like I say.... just my opinion
  4. Someone did make me chuckle in the reactions thread.. Something along the lines of.. 'I'm glad we're out of the cup because now we can concentrate on the Premier League title (by that I mean the title 'Aston Villa: Premier League Club)' annoying... but funny
  5. I'd love to see a central midfield 3 of Bannan, Delph and Gardner in the future. Delph and Gardner acting as the two 'holding' midfielders, putting in the rough tackles but also spreading balls about the pitch, with Bannan roaming around infront of them.
  6. I'm gutted I can't go tonight. Band practice 7-11! I'll be checking the scores between songs though!!! I'd play... --------------- Guzan --------------- Hutton -- Collins - Dunne --- Clark ---------- Ireland - Delph --------- Albrighton --- Bannan --- N'Zogbia ---------------- Gabby -------------- A strong team, giving Ireland, Bannan, Marc and Clark a run out. Resting Bent, Petrov & Warnock. Though the midfield looks weak defensively, Delph, Ireland and Bannan can hopefully pull the strings to ensure we score more than we let in! Like others, I'd really like to see Gardner get a run-out as well
  7. Pirates? What happened to that VT member that pretended to be a pirate? Maybe it was too much to keep that act up all the while! Yes i remember him! I actually used to like reading his posts, mad as a box of frogs but funny all the same! I used to chuckle, but I could never imagine having an actual discussion with him! Arrrrrrrr

  9. :? A great pass? 5 yards sideways, in the direction he was running.. I think my nan could have done that pass. His run into the box, however, was decent.
  10. I've just come out of my cast wiggy, so I feel I'm justified in fixing my horrible dry hands! Although.. I can't justify having £30 YSL moisturiser * Unless the fact that a girl paid for it makes Me more manly?

Congrats villajax! I've actually recently started parallel parking daily. I've never been great at it, but last week I thought I'd give it a shot and I've nailed it every day since.
  12. and ghey. On another note, I bought some nice nivea handcream a few days ago 8) :winkold:
  13. A usual saturday night for Me, used to be.. Subculture until 3, then Subside 3-6, then 6 o'clock stroll over to Maccys for a breakfast, then get the bus home! I haven't done that in a while and cant imagine me doing it anytime soon!!! Qwpzxjor1, who do you know from Uprawr? I'm mates with a lot of them too.
  14. Uprawr at The Asylum or Subculture at the O2 academy are usually the best. There is also a new club night at a place called Vudu, which is meant to be the new Subculture (because Subs used to be much better when it was at the Carling Academy, and apparantly Vudu is 'the new subs'). Uprawr plays more pop punky stuff, rock covers, a bit of Hip Hop and then a few of the more mainstream rock songs. Subculture is more metal, rock and indie (or at least it was when I last went!) Qwpzxjor1, do you go Uprawr much?
  15. I reckon sending flowers to her work is 50/50. If she received them on valentines/ an anniversary then it would be nice, but after a fight it might be awkward. Just my opinion. I say go for it! Travel to hers, give her the flowers, say sorry. If she's still upset then you can walk away, knowing you've made a nice gesture. You might look like a bit of a plank, but us chaps do that sometimes!
  16. What would he have built this better squad with exactly? we received around 38 mill and spent around 16 mill on three players. I doubt Houllier could have brought in a better keeper for 3 mill and a better winger for 9.5 mill. Its possible he could have spent the 3.5 mill on Hutton better. For him to do what some on here suggest with the money he would have had available would be akin to a story that's been doing the rounds for a while that some bloke once had 2 fish and five loaves and fed 5000 people. Some people are deluded enough to believe any old bollocks I guess. It's my opinion, I'm not deluded. Like I said on the last page, anyone with anything to inpit is shot down (or in this case, accused of being deluded). You even said in your post that he could have spent the Hutton money better. So hoe about we stop with the boring 'deluded' comments? I actually think that Houllier would have been given more money than McLeish has.
  17. C'mon Bicks. A strength is a strength whether it turned out to your satisfaction or not, despite the negative spin you are trying putting on them (some of which are, quite unexpectedly, laughable). The big one for me is him not being British. I'd explain it - but you'd all take offense. Nothing you mention is a strength, some of the things you mention however are totally in the realm of fantasy, the extra fitness training, the use of the youth, the discipline, the scouts abroad, the getting rid of deadwood… none of it ever happened If Houllier was still here, we'd have a much better squad now, I'm almost certain of it. How can you say that 'the use of the youth' never happened???? :? What is the point of this thread, really? Houllier's gone, McLeish is here. Anyone who has a vaguely valid point about Houllier, whether proven in his short time here or not, will just be shot down like you have done to Oz. It's tiresome.
  18. What is the point of this thread? The people who disliked Houllier will say why he was shit, the people who liked Houllier will insist that he COULD have done something good. It's like the possible future arguing with the disappointing past. It's pointless and it's boring.
  19. But... imagine what he could have done
  20. Bollocks Trent. It's not visible because it's a long-term plan and most people didn't give it a chance just becuase 'we almost got relegated'... despite the fact that it was the tightest league I've ever seen and we did finish 9th after 2 wins. McLeish is doing OK with our squad because they're his type of players. Houllier's 'plan', if he had one, was to have a footballing-side. Many of our players aren't as comfortable with the ball as he would have liked. He probably did change too much too soon, but I think that if he'd been given another transfer window, and maybe had a defensive coach to help him at the back, I think he would have taken us forward and could have been challenging for Top 6. That said, I don't mind either. McLeish is the safe option; play like we used to under MON, not much chance of getting Top 6 but also not much chance of relegation. Houllier; I liked what he was doing, despite a bunch of PR gaffes, and as someone once put it 'his glass ceiling was higher but also lower, than MONs'.
  21. Being as I have 100% confidence in the fact I never said that or anything remotely like it, I can't see why you'd even mention it. We are talking about Makoun here, a Villa player, bought by the numbskull Houllier. I think your last point is the reason a lot of people didn't want to give Makoun a chance. Pretty pathetic, if true. Makoun was bought by Houllier and therefore is evidence if you like that Houllier is a numbskull. Ever seen me say Darren Bent is rubbish? He was a Houllier purchase, he's been rather good, that doesn't mean Houllier wasn't a numbskull though I didn't accuse you directly Bicks. Even so, everyone knows and knew about Darren Bent so we knew it was a safe purchase. I still think that some people saw us buying a lesser known player from France and thought 'Oh great, Houllier's bought some foreign crap' and use that as their basis to form their opinion without giving him a chance. I admit he's had some below-average games, but I still think he could be a good player in the Prem. If he played with more players around him that could join up his passes and get on his wavelength, I think he would prove some doubters wrong.

  23. Why does it matter? :? If he's behind Bent, Heskey, Gabby & Delfouneso, he's not going to get much game time with us right now. So we may as well loan him out so that he can get some more experience.
  24. Who knows smetrov, maybe he's seen more than 6 or 7 appearances?
