  1. Now that we're safe I hope City tonk us in midweek.

We're not safe. And seriously i'd rather not take the risk of us possibly getting relegated on GD by losing 7-0 to Man City or the likes. I don't give a **** about Man City, I hope we do well to scrap a point, or maybe a repeat of the smash and grab earlier this season.

  2. Are we officially safe?

Nope. The only way we can go down is if we lose our next 2 games and Norwich wins their last 2, and there's an 18 point swing in GD.

We could lose our last two 5-0, 5-0, i have no doubt about that, but I think there's no way in hell Norwich can win 4-0, 4-0.

So if we go down it'll be a fan-fcuking-tastic failure even by Lambert's standards.

  3. He scares the crap out of me with his penalties. If the keeper guesses right he saves it because he passes it into the net.

I do not trust Benteke with penalties, he always favours his right instep. He does not hit it with power or place it particularly well. His penners depend on the keeper guessing wrong most of the time. Both Howard and Sczensy figured him out. Both knew he would try and sidefoot it towards his left both saved it. Foster either didn't do his homework or second guessed Benteke's tendencies.

Someone teach him how to take a penalty properly please.

  4. Could we do a separate list for full backs?

    I'd go:

    1) Staunton

    2) Wright

    3) Barrett

    4) Charles

    5) Delaney

No Bouma? Severely limited as an attacking full-back, but by God, nothing got through his side when he was playing for us. Solid as a rock. The Bouma-Young partnership was a beautiful thing ...

  5. He didn't take one for Chelsea in the shootout with Munich.

Holt - Good, Experienced Pen Taker, good record for Norwich

Bacuna - Never missed a penner or so I hear

Vlaar - Has a powerful strike on him, if he hits it hard and low no keeper has a chance

KEA - All his finishes have been pretty precise strikes, good technique and placement

Bertrand - Definitely got a lot of practice with Chelsea!

I would definitely be wary of Benteke and Gabby taking penalties, ironic because the two of them are our arguably our best strikers. However, Gabby's finishing is not great when its not instinctive, and Benteke's penalties have been sussed out, he tends to favour his right side, and both his penalties this season have been saved because of that. And his penalties don't have particularly good placement, power or height either. Even when he has scored them, it's been unconvincing. If the keeper guesses right he's saving em.

  6. 2. Gabor Kiraly - Only had him on loan for a short period & his keeping was as poor as his legendary & shocking track suit bottoms. Who can forget how he allowed Diego Forlan a late winner at Old Trafford in the FA Cup 3rd round in 2007? Apparently he was contemplating suicide afterwards but the bus ran straight under him. :P

Pretty sure it was Solskjaer who scored it, the shot was straight-on and Kiraly managed to dive OVER the shot, it slid in underneath his armpits. I will never forget it.
