What happened Gabby? You used to take on players and beat them and made things happen in the box - now your touch is terrible and you slow all attacking moves down. 

Seeing why we're still looking at bringing in an established prem striker, we just lack that class in the final third. Also want to see Sinclair/Ayew over Gabby please.

I can't help but think Benteke would have scored from that Bacuna cross - Gabby should have got something on it. 

Think Sanchez has looked really good so far and our play down the left with Westwood/Gana/Grealish/Amavi has been pretty good. Its just that our strikers have been useless. If we had Benteke upfront on the end of some of our play so far ... 

Has the defending gotten better? Or is the Clark-Richards pairing still looking useless?

I think at the time the Bouma-Young partnership down the left flank was one of the best in the league that season. It was so defensively solid and Young could have the confidence of taking on 2,3 men to whip in a ball and have the confidence that if he'd fail Bouma was there behind him to take care of it. 

Gabby hasn't been effective since Young left, he used to bury those dangerous inswinging crosses from the left for fun, he needs to play in a MON-style team again to get the best out of him. Direct, Counter-attacking blitzes and Gabby would score loads. 

IN fairness to Dyke his plans are not really going to have an effect on players playing at the moment it will be for young players coming through but its been said before that English football and this also affects Ireland is being damaged from a young age.

 

The Premier League is about huff and puff players and not skill (which in fairness is slowly changing) e.g Lee Cattermole wouldnt get a game in the top 4 divisions of Spain yet I saw some English media calling for an England call-up last season.

 

How many top class skillful technical players have England produced since maybe 1995 as 20 years as a fair example. Scholes, Beckham, Rooney, Ashley Cole, Rio and arguably Joe Cole. Compare that to other teams in same international bracket like France, Spain or even Netherlands

Too many ruined by signing for big clubs and then seeing their development stagnate because of lack of game time - Downing, Young, Rodwell, Sinclair etc. Granted nowhere near top class technical players but tons of squandered potential there. 

Richardson was the only one who had a good game.

Weimann as a wide player yeah, but as a striker I rate him as a good squad player. 

 

Weimann's scoring record in the cups against lower league opposition is actually pretty good! So he's worth keeping around for the early shitty rounds of the domestic cups.  

But yea back on to Sinclair, I think he'd be great alongside another wide forward type which we unfortunately do not have - maybe Robinson? Benteke flanked by Sinclair and Robinson?
