  1. Thought he was very good yesterday, one of the best games he's played for Villa. He has the tendancy to blast the ball when passing but works well with Kodjia, and at times yesterday had to marshall the entire left side as Kodjia drifted inside during the second half.
  2. I don't even understand understand how he does that flick?!
  3. Big blow this, we need Chester fit now or else I guess it will be Bree or Hutton at centre back. **** you Bruce
  4. If we do this in January I will officially give up with Aston Villa Football Club. There is absolutely no way we should be paying 70/80% of Gary Cahill's wages, the blokes on almost £100,000 a week at Chelsea. At centre back we need to stop relying on loaning players in and get some young, good players signed to the club. A loan just papers over the cracks and we will be in the same mess again in the summer. You can pick up good players at this standard for 3-4 million, just look at McGinn & Hourihane. I'm hoping that the new Villa board and coaching staff are in the same mind regarding this, we need young, hungry players at this club and relenquish the old peoples home nature that has swamped the club over the last 10 years.
  5. After listening to The Villa View it sounds as though McGinn is in fact going to miss this one. Bjarnasson will hopefully be fit enough, or else we are depending on Lansbury or Whelan
  6. Someone would pick it up. For the money Sky are paying it's just not worth the amount of hassle having games constantly moved around, obviously this affects us and Leeds more than most teams in the league. The red button also ruins Championship football attendances, the atmosphere at games has been a lot worse than normal on Tuesday/Wednesday nights. I would honestly prefer for the Championship not to be on TV at all, it would see Villa Park full each week for a change instead of just the occasional game against a big team or when we've won a couple.
  7. Chester will be a miss in this game for sure, I'm hoping that his injury isn't as bad as it appears and that he will be fit for Sunday. In saying this, Jedinak wouldn't be the end of the world at centre back. It's a game where you can throw him in to compete with Jutkiewicz for the aerial balls which he normally wins. We also haven't seen Jedinak alongside Tuanzebe, Tuanzebe's pace will mop up a lot of Jedinak's positioning mistakes that Chester is normally unable to cover. Along with Elmo and Hutton on each side we should have enough about us to be solid at the back. For me Nyland isn't such a problem now, he's started to look more confident in recent games and his shot stopping and distribution are great. He now just needs to work on commanding the box and taking crosses, something I'm sure Cutler is working hard with him on. I'm pretty confident McGinn will be fit, and with Gardner out for them our midfield of Hourihane, McGinn and Grealish should overload them massively in the center of the pitch. I think we should be prepared for Grealish to pick up a booking in this one and miss the Forest game on Wednesday though...

    Sky Q

Thanks, I'll give that a go this evening.
  9. I bought FM18 last year and after a few days went back to FM17 Yesterday I bought FM19 thinking they would have solved most of the issues. It's by far the worst game i've ever played. My FM days are over. Started off a career unemployed and got a job with Hemel Hempstead, won our first 4 games nice and easy. Since then I've lost or drawn 10 games, even when drawing games I concede at least 3. The last game I played I was 3-0 up with 70% possesion, drew 3-3 with a 95th minute equaliser. Every goal they score is a lump forward, my centre backs stand completely still midway up the pitch (no offside trap and no high line) and the striker runs through and knocks it in. Wish I hadn't bothered spending the £30
  10. I hope he goes on a decent run this season now and fires us back to the Premier League. By the sounds of it he seems to think he is back to full fitness and ready to go, he could rip it up on Sunday for us. However, next season even with promotion I wouldn't want us to sign him unless we can offer him a 2 year (at most) deal. We need to start being sensible with signings and contracts, a few years ago we would have signed him on a 5 year contract.
  11. Watch Black Mirror Season 4 Episode 5 - Metalhead This is literally the robot that ends the world
  12. I've got some questions that I'm hoping a few of you could help me with. I'm currently with Virgin - phone, TV (Mix package) and 100mb Fibre. I'm paying a fair bit and now out of contract so going to call up and cancel it as I can get a better deal with Sky. Sky deal is Sky Entertainment, Fibre Max 63mb and phone all with Sky Q for £45 a month. The main question is, if Virgin decide to match the deal would you reccomend staying with Virgin or moving over to Sky (mainly for the Sky Q). Does anyone know how noticeable 100mb to 63mb fibre would be (only 2 people in the house) If I go the Sky route, is HD worth it? Do you get many channels?

  14. Hopefully there are plans to upgrade the North Stand first, and then the Doug Ellis stand. However I would doubt anything will happen until we are back in the Premier League. There's absolutely no point upgrading the capacity of Villa Park to 60,000 as we would never fill it. 70% of our games have 8-10,000 empty seats at Villa Park. Sky are obviously not helping this, especially with the red button games this season... but that is for another conversation.
  15. He's a brilliant player and is likely to kick on now as his form has improved since the change in manager and change in style of play. I think he will prove himself as the best player in the Championship this season and will most likely see us push hard for promotion. In saying this if come the end of the season we don't go up and Grealish ends up being sold for £25-30 million we are now in a much better place to spend the money wisely and better the squad. With the new owners and the new coaching staff we are heading in the right direction and Grealish's loss wouldn't hit the club as badly. Obviously I would love for Jack to stay and take us back to the Premier League. For now let's just enjoy having him in the side playing as well as we all know he can.
  16. After 17 games last season we had 29 points. In our next 6 games we went on to take 9 points leaving us with 38 points. Sunderland W, Ipswich W, Leeds D, Millwall D, Derby L, Sheff U D After 17 games this season we have 24 points. In our next 6 games I would be dissapointed to not take 14 points leaving us with 38 points and on an even keel with last season. Blose, Forest, Boro, Baggies, Stoke, Leeds From that point on it's all about keeping winning runs going instead of stuttering like last season and winning games over drawing them. A plus is also the fact that we will have had much more time under Smith and a January transfer window approaching to strengthen the squad.
  17. If we go up at the end of the season I would like us to sign the following players to keep us in the Premier League: Gueye Amavi Veretout Sanchez Gestede Ayew Lescott
  18. Completely agree, absolutely no need to change the midfield after Saturday's performance. Jedinak is useful in the air but he won't be as active in the deep role as Hourihane is, it's now part of our game to press and show some energy going forward and we need to continue this. We shouldn't be having to change the team to suit the opposition against any team in this league, least of all the scum at home.
  19. I actually have an answer on the mobile phone coverage at Villa Park courtesy of Ian Dimmock who is now the Operations Director at Villa (I've started following him on Twitter). Villa have a a state of the art 4G network in the the stadium however only one network is currently on the system. From peoples feedback on here it would seem that network is Vodafone. He's advised they are working on getting the other networks on board. Since he posted the message on Twitter a lot of people have tagged in O2 and they are now working with the club to get 'plugged in' to the 4G network, so hopefully soon O2 phones will begin to work in and around the ground. Good news for me as I'm on O2 and checking the team before game and the half time scores is a nightmare.
  20. We've got McGinn Super John McGinn I just don't think you understand He's Dean Smith's man He's better than Zidane We've got super John McGinn
  21. I like the fact that he picks up a yellow in most games, it's about time we had a midfielder snapping into tackles regularly throughout games. We haven't had a player like McGinn since Milner, someone who can play the nasty side, something for the opposition to worry about. If you have a player there constantly snapping at the heels the opposition midfield are stifled and have less time on the ball. If he missed a game every 7 or 8 then so be it, we have enough quality midfielders in our squad to cope and give him a breather.
  22. I don't think he would be ready to start for Chelsea next season, if we go up I can see him coming back for our first season in the Premier League which would be a massive boost. Past that I can't see Chelsea letting him go, and not for the money we would be prepared to play. Brilliant striker and is almost a mix of Kodja, Hogan and Davis.
