  1. The stumble is part of the trick. You think he is falling over but he's just baiting the defender.
  2. Harry Maguire makes the best faces after conceeding a goal. Amazing result to finish off a great morning. Until Konsa gets back our games will always end up being a goal fest. Thank God we have one of the best strikers in world football leading the line.
  3. Goal and an assist while barely breaking a sweat. All becoming very routine for one of the best strikers in world football .
  4. Just waiting for the inevitable City goal. Seen this play out far too many times.
  5. Yep this is where FFP helps us immensely. If City, United or Newcastle wanted him they could offer a wage that Villa could get no where near. With the FFP concerns even the biggest spenders have to be prudent.
  6. If a CB lets a striker get goal side of him then the CB screwed up. Emi was slow to come out and then took a terrible angle in the process. Cash got done for pace and should have cut out the cross, putting it out for a throw or corner. As with most goals conceded there was a compounding error that led to a striker getting a tap in on an open net. Good on Emi to take the blame. Just shows Emi to be the leader that he is in defense. He knows that Clement is on his 3rd team in 3 years. Probably struggling with some confidence issues there. He needs Clement focused and not arguing over who messed up on a non-consequential goal.
  7. If Luton had a striker of Ollie's quality they win that easy. Shows that fight and desire can only take you so far. Luton stay up if they can keep up that level of play through the rest of the season.
  8. That's the modern stadium experience. You don't just build a stadium, you build the bars, restaurants, and hotels as well. Then the club gets a cut on everything spent not just what you spend in the stadium.
  9. I only show up for the wins. You visit this thread after a loss make sure you take an antidepressant first.
  10. Took him 20 minutes to work out the double pivot with Douglas but killed it the rest of the match. Will have to figure out how to get him a rest for the run in.
  11. I love Matty for his tenacity, hustle and fight but he could have released Bailey down the wing 10 times in the first half. He doesn't trust his passing at all. If he ever figures that part of his game out he would easily be champions League quality.
  12. He's so close to lift off. Left the shooting boots at home but was integral to our first half attack with his driving runs and passing.
  13. Miscommunication with Lenglet for the first goal but absolutely immense at the end there. I swear he's the best keeper I've ever seen 1v1. He makes it look routine.
  14. We are so frail defensively with Mings and Konsa both out. Just gotta make it work. Great performance, just wish we were a bit more clinical game would have been over in the first half.
  15. Not only that but we have the highest wage to turnover rate of the top 20 revenue generating clubs in Europe. This isn't sustainable without a large increase in revenue from a modern stadium and/or consistent champions League run.
  16. Spurs are third in Europe for money generated per match. We are at a very interesting junction at Villa. I honestly don't see how we can ever be more than mid table club without a full renovation of Villa Park. Either that or we just build a modern new stadium complex. It's the only way we become a stable club unreliant on sugar daddy owners to propel us forward.
  17. Anybody got a cliff nots for why this thread has 20 pages in the last 48 hrs. I tried to go back but can't figure out what kicked all this off.
  18. I've seen enough. Bring him back. Own goal or not that's just a filthy level of skill. Bailey and Philogene sounds like a 70s Funk band and would absolutely terrify teams trying to low block us.
  19. Every corner we don't win and have to hack away I just think Tyrone would have got that.
  20. Complete disrespect. The man knows how to buy a foul and he does 2/10 dive. Ashley did it better.
  21. A player having a poor performance does not trigger some requirement for people to spam their negative energy all over social media. Also, you know it never stops at the performance. Eventually you get poster(s) who slander the character of the player. Calling him lazy, or something else along those lines. Do you get a prize for being the first to call a player sh*t, maybe I'm unaware. Then eventually the player comes good and now you have to write a lengthy post about how you were right then but also right in the present as well. No "mea culpa" or "my bad" to be seen. We've seen this now with any number of players since our promotion. El Ghazi, Mings, McGinn.... Probably at least half the players in the squad have gotten this treatment. Leon is just our most recent example. Maybe just sit on that negative opinion longer than one game. Maybe, I know this is mad, give the player time to get up to speed with the most competitive football league on the planet.
  22. Thank you. We got the best years out of Jack and should be thankful for it. No need to go back. Plus, can't see Jack doing the hard work that Unai requires of all his field players.
  23. If it's a month projected out and they did a scan then it's probably not a major tear. A grade 1 or 2 sprain from banging your knee is very plausible. A grade 3 tear requiring surgery from that kind of impact would have been a freak accident.
  24. Thank goodness it's just a sprain. The way the news broke with him having to get an MRI done I was worried he had torn something in his knee. TBH the guy has played almost every minute available. This will allow him to rest up for the stretch run.
  25. Couldn't believe it when I saw the stat. You could see they were high up the pitch but to be that far is well ... Suicidal. You're right, we may not get an easier game this season.
