  1. I actually could not believe that Rapid really won against Aston Villa today. You have the superior players, but I just can't understand why English teams don't take the European Leauges seriously. It's not just about money, but about respect. Believe me, you would have the quality to win this European League. Isn't that a title worth fighting for with all you have got? This game is about football it should not be about money. Give everything you've got in every game, in every second of your life. Sorry about the bad english, I'm a bit drunk right now. ^^
  2. Bad start from Rapid, but at least we woke up a bit. We had a lot of chances to take the lead, but we need to put that ball into the goal.
  3. The good news is that he isn't our best player. On the other hand this could be a chance for our other striker Salihi who actually doesn't need as many chances as Jelavic to score a goal. But he didn't get as much attention from the coach as Jelavic did.
  4. I'm really happy now Rapid made it over Aston Villa, although no one in Austria believed in it, after we got you in this play off round. Aston Villa was the far better team in this second leg and it's always great to see an English club play. The game is just a lot faster than what we Austrians are used to. I think Ashley Young played really well and had his fun with our right defender Dober and put our whole defense in a lot of trouble. But somehow Rapid managed to get rid of these dangerous crosses. But, although Aston Villa was the better team, Rapid had also a lot of opportunities. If you add up all the chances both teams had in both matches the overall score would be something like 6-4 for Rapid. I hope you can make it to the Top 4 in the Premier League this season, so Aston Villa and Rapid can meet again in the Champions League. ;-) PS: Oh, I don't want to be mean, but I just have to write this. This is the first time EVER that an Austrian team beat an English team in a European cup and advanced to the next round.
  5. Oh, Young is killing our right Defender Dober - he really can't hold him down. Dober did a lot better in our home game. I think our coach will have to substitute him, but we don't have any good defenders for the right side at all. Maybe we can score an away goal, that would take a lot of pressure from us. It's like I expected that Villa will give us a very hard time.
  6. I'm now even more excited about the match on Thursday. After Rapid won against Aston Villa last Thursday the spirit and confidence came back to their players and today Rapid Vienna won 4-1 in the league match against LASK Linz. The defensive players were their biggest problems in the last few months (that's why we lost some important games and therefore didn't win the title last season). But now they've really gained some confidence and make a rock solid performance back there. LASK had already made 14 goals in 4 games this season, but they were no threat in this match. Their only goal was made out of an offside position, but nobody really cared. Rapid scored all four goals within the first 30 minutes and then pulled back to keep some energy for the game on Thursday against Villa. Today, in the stadium was also anounced that about 1200-1300 Rapid fans will be in VillaPark, so it will be really loud and they will try to support Rapid as much as they can. But don't get me wrong. Villa is still the superior team and I can expect that these 90 minutes will be very tough to overcome. I just have to say it again, that I'm really excited.
