  1. Young has gone, N'Zogbia needs to come in and continue what he has been doing at Wigan. He won't replace Young as they are different players but I'd rather we had N'Zogbia than LFC, SAFC or any other team and has proven PL experience/ability.
  2. This Probably coupled with the fact were selling our best players for yet another season in a row and the rumoured transfer kitty isn't meant to be big either. Nail on the head. Your point has no worth once you put rumoured. What is that based on...Rafa rejecting us because he wanted more funds? We didn't even speak to the guy! Pure and utter rubbish! People have to start learning that the top brass at the club run a tight ship! They let slip little snippets of information to select people but the big, real news, they keep quiet. People are being impatient here. At the end of the day, they don't want to get it wrong and it is not as easy as picking a name out of a hat! I know other teams have got managers pretty quickly but that means nothing...I forgot a quick appointment brought success.
  3. I don't think it is a clean cut as we are all lead to believe with Martinez
  4. There is interest in him. Shaqiri that is.
  5. He'll be off this summer unless we get Ancelotti in
  6. A buy out clause then? The fact that a player can leave when out of contract means we get nothing back anyway. There is also the small fact that a contract is only signed when both parties agree to it, and therefore, until you are personally involved, you won't know what the initial contract offered was. The player could have rejected and re-negotiated.
  7. Anyone just think he is putting pressure on the club to get these 'big signings' that have been talked about by Macalister in the media? After all, they were willing to get them in to keep Young, so Downing might just want them to still sign them to get him to stay/show ambition that he wants to be apart of.
  8. I remember what a lot of people were saying about Downing last season. Say no more. Exactly. Some players aren't adaptable to new surroundings. Some take longer, while other (Bent for one) take no time to settle in.
  9. Ive tried to use this arguement to defend Stephen Ireland. :| Thing is, Ireland hasn't showed any signs of this at Villa. I understand he hasn't been given the chance but when he has played, he has done very little. At least when Makoun has played he gets the ball, rarely has more than 2/3 touches, moves it to someone in space and then finds his own space to both have the ball back and create space for others. FWIW, I still think has a future at Villa. If he works harder during a game, tracks back etc then it can work. He could work in a 3 man midfield if each midfield had specific jobs. 1. CDM (like what NRC has been doing recently) 2. box to box 3 more attacking (but not the way that Young plays it)
  10. I've said it before but Brought in half way through a season. No pre season. Foreign surroundings. Doesn't speak the language. The team in general were not playing well. Completely different league to the bench in Ligue 1. Give him the summer. To me, he thinks too quick for the players around him and I can personally see the quality in the quy
  11. Whenever he has played in the centre, he has had a good game. A future CM? I'm not sure, certainly doesn't have the tenacity of Milner but has the technique, the vision, a decent long range shot and has a little bit of acceleration.
  12. Not Hughes please. Not done anything to justify his hype
  13. Yep. Nearly worked with Blackpool and Adam but hopefully for us, them going down means he is easier to get hold of
  14. Young has better players around him. N'Zogbia has to work a lot harder in order to get the credits. Young is not the finished article either Young is the hardest working player in our side. I never said he wasn't. I said N'Zogbia has to work harder to get the credits based on him having poorer players around him. He doesn't take pens and with a better striker around him he would get more assists, i'm sure. Your sentence highlighted could apply to Young as well really
  15. Young has better players around him. N'Zogbia has to work a lot harder in order to get the credits. Young is not the finished article either
  16. You can not question this guys attitude. Why do people do such a thing? He has run his bloody guts off this season in order to keep Wigan in the PL. If he wanted to move, surely Wigan being relegated would have had a positive effect on him leaving, so it wasn't exactly in his best interest to fight for the cause really.
  17. Exactly. You have to judge the season as a whole, and the performance of the manager coupled with the risk of him dropping down dead at Bodymoor, is not the way forward. Such a stupid point. That is like saying we had lost 2 more games we could have gone down, if we had won 2 more we would be in Europe etc. Over the course of a season, you get what you deserve. We finished 9th because we were the 9th best side in the league. We had a shit start but a decent enough finish. It says nothing for the teams around us that they couldn't take advance of what was going on here
  18. Fat Spanish Waiter. Rafa Benitez :bonk:
  19. Ancelotti has said he would not turn down the West Ham job. A move for him as manager would not be out the question for us really. Get him and Wilkins in together?
  20. The fact he can't tackle can be over looked. After all, Delph is a poor tackler and someone has been at Man Utd for years and still can't tackle.
