  1. Connected some passes and got involved which is better than normal as of late, would've liked to see Sanson get some minutes but leaving McGinn out completely probably would've been a bad move in terms of morale.
  2. When the salt cod ain't fried for the Portuguese guy... When the feijoada's dark down at Villa Park...
  3. I dunno, he's looked more and more miserable each game since being made captain, may be a relief to him as well.
  4. Club posted highlights of our home win against Brighton first season back a day or so ago which heavily featured Freddie, thought he might be lined up for a return. Would certainly rather see him given a shot than another CB stuck out there or a questionably fit and out-of-form Cash.
  5. Can we petition for a Doug the Redeemer statue after the sacking?
  6. If he doesn't get at least one of McGinn and Ramsey off, there's no hope of gaining any kind of foothold in this game. Bailey, too.
  7. I get out of the shower every morning and feel a glimmer of hope that the Villa app notification waiting for me might be that he's gone, but it never is.
  8. Garde never stood a chance, though. That squad (and the whole club) was a shambles by that point. Stevie G has an expensive squad full of intern... uh, former internationals.
  9. That was the warning from Liverpool fans. Despite his strengths, he won't keep his nose out of the footballing side.
  10. Get out Stevie G How sh*t must it be You're a daydream believer And the worst that I've seen
  11. Ollie runs but doesn't make runs. Emi and Phil have nobody to pick out on the rare occasion they get the ball in the final third, they just get swamped by 3-4 players while trying to keep the ball long enough for a Villa shirt to show for it.
  12. If you look at Ings' numbers, he actually puts in as much or more work than Ollie! He's not as strong aerially or likely to push defenders around, though. https://fbref.com/en/players/aed3a70f/scout/365_euro/Ollie-Watkins-Scouting-Report https://fbref.com/en/players/07802f7f/scout/365_euro/Danny-Ings-Scouting-Report
  13. Bert's tendency to take first-time shots would be enormously useful at the moment.
  14. Ings has never really been a lone striker and the manager is never going to take any chances with the likes of Archer at the moment. He seems to want a target man now but we shipped out the only player we had with that sort of profile, so we're left with Ollie.
  15. Cometh the hour, cometh the Fred... (I know Slippy will just play a CB there or Young on both sides simultaneously, but still.)
  16. Now that's what I call a real tribulation!
  17. Coutinho yet again coming deeper than both 8s in our own half.
