Cause we are living in Unai times

Old brickie saying, why would you allow a builder to put more bricks in a wall only to have to knock it down.

Brentford came with a game plan and doubled up on bailey because the whole world knows he will cut inside every time. He has to learn to go past players on his right and cut a ball in to mix his game up, once they had our main attacking threat in hand they grew in confidence. The slow approach by us with the ball  takes away the amount of attacks we launch in a game and then we are up against a full defence who have the advantage of numbers back in a formation. We have to mix our game up now and then or the opposition can plan to nullify it. We do suffer from a rabbits in the headlights when the opposition go all out with guns blazing.  Leadership qualities are lacking in most of our senior players.

The point was more to do with how many more minutes konsa played than most other players who were being subbed with 15 minutes to go and rested but konsa was just moved to another position on the park and therefore his chance of injury was made the more probable to occur. The more minutes you play the more chance you have of colliding with that post or simular.  

Probably the mistake was to play Konsa here there and everywhere in games and the lad was bound to pick up an injury. To much football for one player to cope with and constant risk to that player but we are here now and the bare bones of a squad to deal with. 

Men against boys last night, our midfield got destroyed by Gallagher and Fernandes. The lack of energy from our team was a major worry and we were bullied all night by athletes v part timers. Why that keeper was wasting time i do not know because we did it ourselves  by just passing around the back and never looking to be positive.

Unai got it right on the day and we all had a great time, the icing on the cake is to beat Man U and send us all into happy land.

The early goal was key and moving the ball a bit quicker. They were fodder but we dealt with that fodder in the right way.

I think i have,   but knew that other teams were watching us as well and with our Don Howe style of play we need another string to our bow because we would be worked out in the end.

Everybody is still backing Unai , but he was schooled yesterday by Eddie Howe who showed how to set up a team against certain opposition on the day. It was a masterclass in Management and a trait we hope Unai has in his locker. Howe just pressed our back line got the ball out wide and let his big guys cause havoc from set pieces. We had a bad day but you have to own that bad day and put a bit of grit into your players to stand up now and again. We have the lumps coming up so expect more of the same.

Another training game performance, zonal marking fell apart, we pumped balls onto dan burns head as our game plan and when it takes us ten minutes to reach the half way line surely we realise it allows them to get nine defenders well organised and hence we panic and find Burns head. Bailey came on for a bright five minutes but Howe brought their kid with plenty of pace to match him, the lack of energy, battling and spirit is a worry. To say you are proud after that is like a mom at a gala when your kid has just come last, we need a shake up and a different mindset of player that will not accept that and give his all for the cause. We are way to nice a tean.

Had all the looks of a training game, sit back for 75 mins and give it a go for the last 15. 

Never a good sign when your goalkeeper is Motm

The lad is raw as hell but shows a passion to win, time will tell for this lad but he shows he cares and wants to do well. 

We tend to struggle against these sides and always tend to look tired and forlorn. The only difference yesterday was commitment, they had Tarkowski at the back a middle of the road player who terrorised our front three and stifled their will to win. We have seen this before but it was Dawson that time but the result was the same in taming our attack. Our midfield was on an awayday and heads dropped which is a trait we have to improve on, we are okay at handbags but lack that will to win attitude when it is needed . The guy who will step up and fight fire with fire not throw a bit of water from miles away and whine i did not get any protection. Maybe we should go all out for an early goal against these sides but we just do not play that way.

Burnley were a slightly better team than i thought and had a quick guy upfront but lacked that desire and determination to battle when the time was needed.

Konsa the standout   Luiz does the pretty stuff but is found wanting when it comes to the hard graft and defending.

Hope Unai has not taken to self harming after the loss to Unt and the eye is just a new weapon to pierce the back of any under performing player. 

We discovered the true cost of the Kamara red card against sheff , last night we had no ball winner in midfield and allowed unt to steam roller us in that area after the break. Where was the guys to stand up and be counted for us on the night, Ramsey is not fit so we do not have his legs to count on and some of those players seem very fragile to me when the going gets tough. They are no great shakes at the moment but we made them look like world beaters and when you go into a gunfight why would you have the sun in your eyes.

Hope the man can outdo Santa today

Wilder won the battle on the day two little fast guys upfront and the rest defend with Norwood kicking a few, heads down for the villa and maybe we have some fragile players.

We needed to move the ball a lot quicker against sheff , playing the so called patient ball just enabled their block and they did not get out of shape most of the game. Tinkering with players takes away their natural mode of play and therefore you get that player at 70%,  and we all know bailey and Diaby play in the same space so they should get a half each because what use is a shadow to us. We were set up wrong and some do not have the fitness yet but without our ball winner it was a struggle to get going all night with people  blaming the ref and var but if we do our job and play as a team we should blow these away.
