  1. I'd echo this. The price hikes on absolutely everything really leave a sour taste. My usual routine would be to have a pint before the game, maybe one at half time and then definitely a few in the Holte Suite. I don't think I can justify £30+ on five pints, especially when I can find a pub where it's about £2 less per pint. All the chat about making the ground a better place for before & after just doesn't work with the prices that they are. The club is getting my season ticket money and nothing else any more, they're just taking the piss.

Have you tried clearing for UoM?
  3. I'm on row 16 and I'm on the last row of normal seating now. The back 20 rows are all rail seating so there's 36.
  4. They had the digger on site before the fire. There is a drone shot on the morning after the fire with the digger in the car park & the entrances were blocked in by a mound of soil. So they’ve booked in the digger, blocked the entrances, started the fire and knocked it all down before the investigation can begin. Jail time needed.
  5. Did the relentlessness of the Ashes make it better though? I mean the players might not agree but every test apart from one was a classic. I do entirely agree that shunting the Ashes out the way for the Hundred is farcical anyway.
  6. Free-to-air cricket is the key to it all to be honest. Fair play to the people behind the Hundred managing this, but there's no reason why the Blast couldn't achieve this. 50 over cricket is essentially second XI cricket these days, unfortunately it is the least relevant of the formats now but so be it.
  7. Agree about the women's game, however they're just re-jigging teams that are already there (the ones that play in the Charlotte Edwards cup) so it's actually pointless. In terms of the "best parts of the Hundred", I'm actually not sure what the best parts are? A bit of extra gaudy branding and giving away free tickets to boost the crowds? I think the cricket has to be sectioned into mini-seasons, the formats are so different that it impacts the players. They used to mix it all a few years back and it got a bit messy. The Blast should definitely be played at the height of summer, and probably concurrently with the 50 over stuff. T20 on the weekends (Friday to Sunday), 50 over during the week.
  8. Looks like this is the last iteration of the Hundred. What a terrible shame. Now it’s just a waiting game to see how they manage to butcher the Blast.
  9. Lol, nah. I'll just take advantage of their perceived courtesy, drive down the empty lane and merge at the correct point.
  10. You merge at the merging point. That is the most efficient way. People who block the other lane are causing more traffic.
  11. A great win and the turnaround spearheaded by two brummies! So happy for Woakes and of course Broad. Feels like a long time since we lost those first two tests, the players must be absolutely sick that we've not won the entire series. Now to wait another six months until the next test... no idea who the bowlers will be. No Broad, Woakes won't travel, I think Anderson is likely finished too, no Moeen. Think the batting line up is a lot more solid, still not convinced by Crawley or Duckett but their aggressiveness suits us.
  12. After doing a bit of digging Paudie Clifford is a Villa fan. Who cares about David anyway!
  13. Disappointing. Had his chance in the last minute but hooked it.
  14. I said I thought it's strange that he's retired before Jimmy, not that it's strange that he retired. I totally understand the reasoning. I think this will be Jimmy's last test anyway, six months until the next tour where he'll be closer to 42 than 41.
  15. Very strange seeing Broad walk away before Jimmy, easy to forget he’s 37. What a player, gonna have a tough time replacing him.
  16. Australia bowling just 80 overs today and their spinner has gone through 21 of them. Pathetic
  17. Could well be seeing Australia bat tonight… lead up to 300 with two hours still left in the day
  18. This really has turned into a road here. Only one winner from here
  19. Best back-to-back sessions in the field we've had all series. Bossed it.
  20. Cloudy and very humid today. Good day to bowl...
  21. Good session for England. This is definitely a 5 down at lunch pitch.
  22. 14 wickets in 34 overs on day one at Edgbaston. Bears out for 60.
  23. This is the only instant I'll drink. If not, I'll have a tea instead. Been looking at getting a mokka for when I WFH but I want to try a cup of coffee from one before I buy one.
  24. If you're at CineWorld on Broad Street, it's right next to Five Ways and Bourneville is only a couple stops away (less than 10 mins) on the train so Cadbury World is a decent shout!
  25. Confirmed, Aussies retained. Gutted.
