  1. But that only leaves us with Terry and Samba (!) and even they might leave. In this scenario, we'd need 3 maybe 4 new centre-backs. We've got to keep JC.
  2. I thought loans could still happen in the EFL after the regular deadline? This was from 2 years ago so maybe something has changed https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/loan-window-open-you-need-7291191 not sure what constitutes an emergency though. Can a club bottom of League 2 declare an emergency just because they're struggling?
  3. We might as well get Callum out on loan for a few months in League 1 or even 2. Much better than just playing u23 football. It did Jack Grealish good playing for Notts County.
  4. I had to Google this as I was thinking, how the hell can you have DRS on a cricket bat (like in Formula 1)...
  5. It doesn't guarantee it, but it gives a much higher chance of being correct. The officials have a chance to catch their breath, talk over the radio, watch it back and then make their decision. I'd much rather that than a split second decision, or perhaps the referee even missing something completely. So if it increases the chances of decisions being correct, why wouldn't you want it?
  6. I watched AC Milan v Udinese in September and VAR was in action. 2 goals were disallowed when they might have otherwise incorrectly stood and changed the whole course of the game. It's quick and makes total sense. I'm just shocked it's taken this long to do this - I mean rugby and tennis have had decision help using technology for years. I for one wish it was in play for the League Cup final in 2010 ;-)
  7. To think it is more likely we will get Man Utd than anyone else is just ignoring basic statistics, or just usual Villa pessimism!
  8. Exeter City / Forest Green Rovers away please
  9. Yeah, I think so. A perfect short-term solution for both parties.
  10. Dominic Solanke? Talk of him going on loan in the Liverpool echo with quotes (unrelated tbf) from Steve Bruce. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-striker-dominic-solanke-should-13957916
  11. Still, he got them to the Semis with a pretty naff squad Bale and Ramsey aside - further than a lot of nations with far better players. Anyways, I'm not saying he's a world beater but he isn't a terrible manager and I just feel our game has got harder. Still expecting a win, however.
  12. This game has just got harder with Coleman being appointed I think. His track record with Wales was impressive and he had the respect of some big names so I expect the Sunderland players will respect him straight away and will be fighting for their futures. I don't think he will suffer any fools up there. Hopefully for us it will come too soon for a bounce but I think he will get them safe. I think we have to rotate for this game. Last time we had a number of games in short succession (Blues away on Sunday, Preston away Wednesday, Sheff Weds at home Saturday) we looked short of fitness against Sheff Weds. Players have been off on internationals last week, then obviously we had QPR at the weekend and now it's another midweek game! With our injury list too we have to ensure our key players stay fit in the long run. I'd be inclined to give 2 or 3 players a start who didn't start Saturday.
  13. Evra on a free transfer....got one hell of a kick on him as well
  14. Not sure. I feel like we have to play 3 in the middle as we don't have the pace, so most likely Davis to come off the bench I think.
  15. Great goal. He made a really positive impact when he came on. Really bodes well for us as he gets sharper and more games under his belt!
  16. Not sure it would put massive pressure on the team losing there. Wolves away is a tricky game any time but they look superb this season. I'd view it as if we take something it is a massive positive but a loss isn't the end of the world. I want to see us try and win every game but if we lose sometimes then so be it, better than drawing all the time.
  17. FC Koeln fans at Arsenal last night were excellent...simple song we could use they do below: "Sha-la-la, la-la-la-laaaaa.....Astonnnnn Villaaaa...." ... *repeat*
  18. I think this is still our problem. We don't have a preferred style of play or formation but we have lots of decent players. What we keep seeing is formation tinkering and team tinkering but it isn't working so far. What I want to see is Bruce sticking to a formation and a style of play and then bringing into the starting line up the most suited and natural players. Sure, we need to be able to change formations sometimes but every week is just suicide IMO.
  19. My thoughts too! Just strange they don't seem to be readily available online with 2 weeks to go till the game
  20. It is Udinese on 17/9/17. Thanks for the tips about where to sit and for drinks - free pasta sounds amazing! Thanks for replying really appreciate it
  21. Has anyone ever been to the San Siro to watch AC Milan? I'm there this month and want to go but cannot seem to buy tickets via AC Milan website as they are not appearing. I don't want to put money into Viagogo or any ticket touting rip off site if I can help it. If anyone has any ideas please let me know! Cheers
