  1. Imagine a Villa player getting into the England squad after 10 first team games. Grealish was about 150 and Ramsey still not in one at about 100 games. Likewise if Grealish and Ramsey were at Man U would have taken them about 20 to 30 games.
  2. Who have they likely got missing for this?
  3. It's good for us that Forest have had those points deducted, given that we've already played the bottom 5. It looked like the relegation places would be largely concluded by early mid April but now looks like it could be nearer to the end of the season. Helps Burnley beat Brentford too.
  4. I think it would be really good in a couple of the home games we have in the run in for Mings and or Buendia to come out onto the pitch say 10 mins before kick off and say a few words to the fans. That would create a real atmosphere and togetherness for those key fixtures.
  5. So he didn't have an injury then, or quickly recovered.
  6. I know it doesn't mathematically and I know you could also say we had done this weeks ago, but does that point yesterday confirm a top 6 finish would we say?
  7. Should be more worried about finishing above Man City, Arsenal or Liverpool. Far more chance of that happening.
  8. You mean a second time? I think one is inevitable. Him and Zaniolo practice them in training.
  9. Emery was out at Snobs last night. I saw him outside Mr Egg at about 4am.
  10. I'm completely with you on this. Even those three teams you mention you wouldn't take a point. If you did we would have three fewer points. We battered west ham too a few months ago.
  11. A really awful scenario for the end of the season would be that we put lots into the conference league, like we are doing, and continue to do. But we lose the final. We help to achieve the 5th place for CL, but miss out by a point or so and finish 6th. Very very unlikely. But would be annoying. Well I mean it's awful end in a relative sense. It's still a good season for Aston Villa overall.
  12. They don't have a chance of overtaking us even if they continue this better than normal form and we maintain this poorer than normal form. That's the numbers of it. We need to turn into a fundamentally different team results wise and so do they.
  13. Emery isn't a fan of drawing games, and it's often why we win so many. If you think of games like Luton and Brentford away, we took more points than we looked likely to take within game. Man U game at home is a reverse example of this. I think we've got to take the rough with the smooth to some extent.
  14. And that's fine. They need to have a points return of a top 3 team through to the end of the season. And we need that of a team that would come 12th or 13th across a season If that happens then they would finish a point or two above us and would deserve to do so. But it's very very unlikely.
  15. Wow. Its £63 for an adult match ticket for Wolves in the upper trinity wings. This had Just completely passed me by. It's not really worth giving up a season ticket if you plan to go to half as individual games through a membership.
  16. Bruno Guimares went down looking for a free kick and picked up the ball. Ref gives it the other way for him picking it up. I thought that was always a booking? Wasn't that what Konza was booked for against Ajax?
  17. It also put to bed the game with half an hour to go. It went from Tottenham having a 4 goal difference advantage at 2 nil up to an 8 goal difference advantage at full time, in terms of impact on the league table. Completely avoidable. Then of course it hugely weakens us for our next three games. Utterly bizarre and irresponsible thing to do.
  18. That's really interesting, cheers. I still don't get how it works in regards to the betting markets.
  19. But who decides that? And is it a rule or just down to the refs discretion?
  20. But it must be more specific than that, like a rule around games where outcomes are pretty much decided at 90 mins. It must be a choice of the losing teams manager. Mcginn scored about 5 minutes into second half stoppage time in that earlier European game.
  21. Is there an explanation for the lack of second half injury time because surely it would have been about 7 minutes with all the goals, injuries and sending off. Does the ref have to ask the team that's losing if they forfeit essentially?
  22. But this is the point. If we don't get many more points this season then we don't deserve to finish above them surely? You've said we will likely get nothing from City and Arsenal. The only reason we are comfortably above Man United is because we beat both of them.
