  1. If Ollie maintains his current form till the end of the season Safegate will be hammered in the media if he doesn't make the England squad. Since Unai came in Watkins has been one of the best forwards in Europe based on his numbers. Just like it did with Jack, it took the media pundits a long time to realise how good he is. Now they have, they'll talk him up all the time. He's also done it big games to, against top opposition. There's not much more he can do.
  2. It's just another play from the Tory divisive playbook. "Look at this minority, they're the cause of xyz problems...". The racists and morons will lap it up, and instead of people realising what they have in common they'll be dicks to the people the PM is pointing at.
  3. The older I get the more I'd like to believe, but then I can't believe in an all powerful deity that would give children terminal cancer. Also think I'm at that stage of my life where I'm closer to the end than the start, I'm in denial and will stop caring when I get to acceptance. Afterlife is bs. There's no tangible soul, we're a series of electrical signals and bad impulse control. I do respect an individual's right to believe though, just don't like organised religion in any form (except being a villa fan).
  4. Ok, a few people on that there twitter. I'm not linking as they show blurred out images of it along with the leaked messages.
  5. Social media suggests he may have sent pictures of his gear stick. If this is a two way thing then the decision reached is correct, but the court of public opinion will crucify him. Which I don't mind, as he's a massive word removed.
  6. I was just adding what was said last night in the news, that Everton's legal team are working on the angle that the 2 charges relate to an overlap for 75% of the same period.
  7. I don't think Everton will get a 2nd punishment at all. The 2nd punishment is for profit and sustainability rules broken over 75% of the period the first punishment covered. They'll claim double jeopardy, that they're being charged twice for the same offence, and get away with it. If it was us, I'd feel that it was unfair to punish us twice, so am quite sympathetic. The EFL do have precedent for this, and they don't charge clubs more than once for the same offence during the same period, so I think that'll be used by the PL. Forest won't be so lucky, and they'll get the 6 point deduction after the season ends.
  8. Grealish is world class. He's just been stifled by Pep's style of play. He's been asked to do a different job there. He did it very well last year, but he has dropped off this season. He's never been a player that had outstanding numbers of goals and assists, but we all know what he brings. In the right system he'd be head and shoulders above 95% of the players in the world again, on a consistent basis. Pep has changed his system again this year, and when Jack first signed for City he took a while to settle. I'm sure he'll adapt again. The partying is neither here nor there. It's not like Pep is calling him fat like he did to Phillips.
  9. Having new furniture in the bedroom, and during the sort out came across a great album I've not played in years. What an amazing album. Still in love is an amazing track. I remember hearing this and it just reached me.
  10. I don't think Labour's message is winning though. There have been some fantastic swings towards Labour in the by-elections, however when I look at the actual figures all I see is apathy from the Tory voters. The actual vote for Labour hasn't been significantly higher in any of the recent by-elections, it's more those that normally vote Tory are staying away. I don't blame Labour for this, in my opinion the Tories have been so woeful, so corrupt, that many, many, people have lost faith and trust in the political system overall. It's not like we're seeing record number of voters come out in huge numbers to kick the Tories out. Turnout has been low, and the concern for me is that we won't get a good turn out until we get a "none of the above" vote.
  11. For those of you that enjoyed the Iron Claw, and want to hear a bit more about what happened to the family, there's a really good episode of Dark Side of The Ring on the von Erichs. I'll put the name of the episode in a spoiler for those that haven't seen it, as it will spoil the film Google the name of the episode and you'll find the episode on Daily Motion fairly easily.
  12. He's getting £40mil a year alone from his contract and signing fee. He's also due a cut of all his image rights, and Real will have him front and centre on everything. He's chasing the money, it's just not as outlandish as it was at PSG. I'd imagine there are some sizeable bonuses in there too, along with this being the money we're aware of that he's being paid. Man City have made me a cynic, I wouldn't be surprised if more clubs had followed their lead and also had two contracts for marquee signings.
  13. I look at Everton as a warning for all clubs that flirt with the top 6 and don't build correctly. They had relative success for a good few years signing top 4 and Champions League cast offs and a few gems alongside them. They spent big money with big wages but couldn't generate the on and off pitch success to sustain it. Looking at them now, they're awful and don't have the means to buy their way out of it because of FFP. We're doing so well now, I hope our future doesn't look like their present. They're teetering on the edge right now. A relegation would kill them in my opinion, they don't have a squad good enough to come straight back up, and any decent players will be sold to plug the financial gaps. Then you see the performance tonight, and the main thing I took away was that they don't look like they have the quality, organisation (offensively), and desire to get out of the bottom 3. They're lucky there's some awful teams in the league this year who are giving them a fighting chance of staying up.
  14. He's on £3.3 million a week, £170million a year. He's either going to get a bigger short term contract at PSG, which normally happens every summer, or he's off the Real Madrid. Be interesting to see the salary he gets there, as for all the stars they have they don't pay Saudi wages. Toni Kroos is their highest paid player on just under £500k a week (still a lot, but it's not as much as they pay in the Saudi league).
  15. You don't know a thing about me, but I've never been accused of being a prude before. I just think it's disgusting that a man thinks it's funny to objectify a woman that way. I don't agree with it at all. If it was his wife, partner, or consenting adult, fine, that's ok. Young pretty girl being sexually targeted by a sexist whilst she's being professional, not so much. Especially in a world where it's known that women have to work harder to be taken seriously.
  16. On current form I'd rather have Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes. At least they drive forwards and take players on. Pep's ruined him.
  17. Wasn't HRH in hospital for an issue with his pancreas? I might be putting 2+2 together and getting 772 but if it's pancreatic cancer then the 5 year survival rate is awfully low, something like 75% die within the 1st year. Grim news for him. Edit It was a prostate issue, and they've confirmed it's not prostate cancer. Please ignore my poorly researched and executed post.
  18. I don't agree with this. They clearly don't (or at least didn't) judge women as fully rounded people deserving of respect. The clip of Gray asking Charlotte Jackson to tuck his sound kit in whilst he's pulling his jeans open is disgusting, and you can see she's not happy with it.
  19. Odegaard took pictures of the fans. Carragher spat on a 14 year old girl. I don't think his judgement and morality is placed to judge him.
  20. You will never ever convince a real scouse Liverpool fan that they're wrong or in the wrong about football. I'm up there a lot as I'm married to one, and the first thing they say when you have a different opinion about football that is perfectly valid is "You don't know what you're talking about mate". There's being a biased fan, and for them it's like they're all zealots. One true faith etc.... It's a shame really, there's a lot to like about this Liverpool team, but their fans completely ruin it. I'd still rather them than City win it. I personally think Klopp handled the sending off quite well this, there's no way Arteta would have behaved better.
  21. Fantastic. Put them to the sword when we needed to . Nice to hear Jamie Redknapp's praise of Luiz for the ball he played for Ollie "if it was de Bruyne they'd be showing it over and over on sky sports news". He was incredible today, such great vision.
  22. I don't think he has the kicking game of Ford, and kicking for territory and applying pressure is Borthwick's plan. It's exactly what he did at Leicester, but that only worked because he had some big second and back rows who were also dynamic.
  23. I don't disagree with the cap at all, but I just think it's the main reason that there's such huge differences in the quality of the leagues.
  24. I don't think I've ever seen a worse start by England. They're clueless. I hate the way Jones and now Borthwick want to go with a power game when we just don't have the type of forwards to do it and be effective. The gap in the levels between Ireland, France, compared to us is now largely down to the standard of the club competitions. The English teams are so much worse, largely because of the salary cap.
  25. Don't think t-rex arms did too well for the 2nd
