  1. Not that it even matters, but found it interesting nonetheless. He’s obviously still got friends on the squad and is happy to see Villa doing well
  2. Actually I don’t think that’s the case, because it’s probably coming from Juventus and it’s not like he name dropped who the club is who made the bid. If it was from Villa, he’d say “Aston Villa have made a bid for McKennie.”
  3. What if we are holding off on spending more this window so that other clubs don’t bend us over with the Grealish money? We’ve added a lot to the squad so it could be beneficial to see how we do and then consider bringing someone in in January if necessary, and then press hard for signings next summer.
  4. Don’t think we have to wish Grealish to flop. Honestly the best thing would be if he wins his plastic trophies with City but then in a few crucial moments, Villa is able to beat City and claim trophies. Imagine us meeting City in an FA cup final and Buendía, the new number 10, scoring a goal to put Villa out in front. We celebrate in Wembley as Jack watches on, knowing he could’ve gotten that with his boyhood club. it doesn’t matter how well Jack does, he’s probably going to do great because he’s an excellent player. What matters is what Villa do without him, and we are set up for success.
  5. Messi apparently is reconsidering resigning with Barca, it’d be wild if Man City pulled out of the Grealish transfer to snag him at the last minute
  6. I still believe he detests City, he’s just madly in love with De Bruyne and Pep and wants to win trophies and be a global star
  7. If he wants to come back in a few years while he’s still in his prime and help us win trophies, then sure. But if he tries to come back washed at age 36 for some sort of nostalgic “last ride with my club” BS then he can not even bother
  8. Given his injury history, getting the luxury of being a rotational player at City might do wonders towards extending his career. He can spend half the season on the bench, be an overhyped new-age Beckham, and win meaningless trophies. But he’ll definitely be a marketing god
  9. Following this pattern, we’ll finish 5th this season and then the following year we’ll rocket out of the Prem into some new European Super League
  10. What if Grealish realizes that his personal upward trajectory outpaces Villa’s by a bit, and him leaving for a massive fee allows him to win trophies in his prime, while also allowing Villa to strengthen the club using the money we get in return? He wins trophies with the dirty oil club for 4 seasons, during that time we continue to strengthen and push toward Europe, and then 30 year old Grealish triumphantly returns to a Villa side now ready to seriously contend in Europe? Bottom line, we can use this money to improve the club. It hurts in the short-term though for sure.
  11. I know it’s irrational, but I completely believe him for some reason. Probably because I want it to be true, he’s also got connections to the Bucks though
  12. With rumors that we want to get Tammy Abraham and Tuanzebe on loan, could that be an attempt to strengthen the squad and please Jack in the short-term without adding to the transfer bill? You’d think that if these signings were related to the Jack money, they’d be buys instead of loans, right?
  13. If Jack does decide to stay, I think it’ll take a Europa league spot this season to prevent him from leaving next summer (whether that be by winning one of the cups or through our position in the table). Don’t see him giving up the opportunity to play in Europe for his boyhood club, but if we don’t make it this season, I think it’s fair if he decides he wants to win trophies in his prime and goes elsewhere.
  14. Hi everyone, I'm a new fan of Villa from the US. As a bit of a background, I got interested in the club from FIFA games- I always had an affinity for the Villa colors and crest, and I enjoyed playing with a side with a ton of history and tradition sitting at the lower end of the table. Started seriously tuning in to some games during the pandemic, and was sold with the win over Arsenal and the draw against West Ham to stay up. The ownership seems ambitious, the fanbase is passionate, and I really think something special is being built here. Looking forward to a fun season!
