Yeah, because he's signed for us.

He’s off to Milan by all accounts. Don’t think we’ll be in the picture.

Like Tyrone Mings?
You obviously didn't read my whole post, did you?

Biggest priority for me in the summer is a tall, dominant, beast of a centre half. We’re far too weak defensively, and concede from set pieces all the time. Konsa is a lovely player, but he’s not as good as Pau Torres on the ball, and I’m not convinced he’s a good enough right back going forward.
Some difficult decisions will have to be made if we want to become an elite side, and a defence containing Pau Torres (who is our only defender who should be guaranteed a starting place next season) needs to have a defender like Mings alongside him. If we can find a right footed Mings, that’d be a dream.
Ideally Konsa will master the right back position over the next couple of months, and Mings will come back as he was before, but I’m not hopeful of either. And we can’t afford to be sentimental.
I’m expecting serious backlash for this. So go ahead.

Non-footballing income should absolutely be excluded from PSR rules. Hotels, concerts, and other sports hosting should not be allowed to be spent on football. By all means allow the parent companies to profit from it, but not the football club.

Limiting supply means they’ll be able to charge more per ticket. So in the long run, they can see us making more money per ticket with a 45,000 capacity rather than a 55,000 capacity. Don’t West Ham and Man City have an issue in that they give away a load of free tickets a game? If there’s such a surplus, the cost of the ticket goes down.
I don’t agree with this, by the way, I just think this is the current thinking.

Credit where it’s due, he has negotiated us a mammoth sponsorship deal here. Well done, you c**ksucker.

Looks like John Travolta’s gone off the rails.

Why is everyone so convinced that we’re getting out of the BK8 deal two years early? Unlike with Castore, there’s no breach of contract/performance issue, so why the confidence?

There has been no rumours for this at all, this is merely my suggestion. But I think we could do a lot worse than resign O’Hare on a free this summer as a squad player. He’s been brilliant for Cov, wouldn’t cost much money, and would count as a homegrown player for Europe. Thoughts?

Was expecting to see the accounts filed on Companies House today, but nothing as of yet. Last year they went up on March 3rd, so doubt we’ll have long to wait either way.

Realistically we’re not going to be able to get £15m for Diego Carlos, so that’ll either be a loan out, or he’ll stay as backup.
And no way we’re getting anywhere near enough of a fee to consider selling McGinn. Think that ship has sailed, and honestly I’m glad! Let’s keep him as long as he wants. Would be great if he could do 10 years here and get a testimonial.
With regards to Hermoso, I saw him live earlier in the week at San Siro, and he was probably the worst player on the pitch. But he was playing against one of the best teams in the world, so I won’t judge him purely on that.

Honestly, definitely the other.
He hated being with us, for what reason, I know not, but the sight of him sticking his two fingers up to the Holte aftet scoring is indelibly etched on my memory forever.

Went on a bit of a deep dive after seeing this post. On that link there is a video of the whole season review, and about 28 minutes in you can see the goal. Doesn’t look like he sticks anything up to the crowd at all, and further commentary on that post corroborates it.

We know we've not fallen foul of FFP for the forthcoming financial statements, so regardless of this €138m loss or whatever was stated, it's not a concern. It would explain why we may fall foul of FFP for the current season, however, unless we sell prior to June 30th.
I would also say that FFP loss isn't the same as a Profit and Loss Account loss, either, so don't get too hung up on figures and statements that seem worrisome.
I believe our financial statements for the year ending 2023 have to be submitted by the end of this month, so we'll all be able to have a good look at them over the next couple of weeks, and then have a look at what Kevin Maguire says about it, and pass it off as our own knowledge. I know I will.

Where? With the Holte Upper anyone can purchase Terrace tickets (regardless of who they support and booking history), and likewise with the Lower Grounds.

Wow, that’s really impressive! Great to see another ex-Villa kid on the list, too (Johansson)!

Tielemans will come in and they’ll shuffle the pack, I’d imagine, with McGinn playing centrally with Douglas.
Or Unai will sense a time to give a new formation a go and go 4-3-3 with Diaby and Bailey out wide. I suspect it will be the former, though.

Seeing as we can no longer claim that it’s a fortress, can we get cracking on the North Stand in the summer please, Christopher?

Trezeguet walked off the pitch when he did his ACL, so that doesn’t mean he’s fine.
It would be quite ludicrous if it is his ACL. Typical luck.

Just finished Deadloch (think it was recommended on here). Absolutely brilliant. Aussie TV seems to be in a league of its own the last 10 years, seen loads of great programmes from there over the last couple of years. It's on Amazon Prime, for those interested.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Dumfries is nowhere good enough for where we want to be. Signing him would be a massive mistake.
-
We've only submitted a 22 man squad, so for him to be left out is quite the snub. Maybe he is off to Turkey after all, otherwise why not just leave him in there?

With news that Bailey is about to sign a new contract, I wonder if this is a way in which we’ll be able to help reduce our FFP?
Bailey’s amortised fee is about £6.25m per season, with about £9m remaining, so let’s say he gets a new 4.5 year contract, that amortised fee will reduce to £2m a season (albeit with a probably slightly higher wage).
We can do similar with Buendia, who has about £17.5m of his fee remaining, so we could go from £7m per year to about £3.5m per year.
Just a thought, and maybe perhaps why the club seem to be quite relaxed about the reports from Ornstein that we need to sell by June 30th to comply.

Ndidi is pretty tragic with the ball at his feet. Might as well just keep Dendoncker. Ndidi was also awful in his last season in the Prem.
