Mentally this is a bigger blow for Spurs then it is for us imo if these things do have a psychological impact (I'm not sure they do) it could heap more pressure on them for the run which is a good thing.

Although we'll get both, Champions League qualification over a UECL trophy all day for me.
- The UECL is cute little tournament, but it has no history or prestige. It was invented in 2021. It would be brilliant to win it, but, see below.
- There's no qualification round in the UCL next year. Once you're in, you're in a massive group and we'd be in the worst pot of teams, so we'd definitely be drawn against some European giants. Villa in a competitive match European match against Madrid, Barca, Bayern? Beating one of those teams at VP under the lights? Imagine!
- People saying 'it'd be a footnote of history' - I just disagree. Villa have not been in Europe's elite competition for over 40 years. It would be a historic achievement to be in it. And I definitely remember when Spurs got in under Redknapp, Leeds got in, Newcastle got in, etc.
- If our squad get the experience of playing in the CL against elite European opposition, think about what that could do for their development under Unai. Who knows where that could take us.
- We'd probably be able to keep all of our players, whereas we probably wouldn't if we don't. Revenue, long term club health, all improved. People ignoring this fact are the same ones that will be moaning if we have to ship off Jacob or Dougie in the summer if we don't get in.
- Unai will win a trophy at Villa. We may not have a better chance of UCL qualification than we have this season, for several years.
But yeah both
The pot is largely irrelevant.
Each team will play 2 teams from each pot (one home, one away) to create an eight game fixture list of roughly equal strength.

I'm in my fifties and have sat in the same seat for every game since the Holte End Upper was completed in December 1994. It's about one third the way from the front and fairly central. I don't claim to be as loud or frequent as the fans towards the back of the Upper Holte, but I do join in with most of their songs, in the hope it will encourage more fans in the stand to join in.
On Saturday against Brentford, I was informed by the bloke in front of me that I was clapping too loudly. Slightly shocked, I think I muttered something like - 'Well that's what I intend, that's the point', which I admit wasn't the most succinct response.
It's not my future intention to moderate the volume of my support, but I'm curious - has anyone else had someone complain that their support was too loud?
No but certain areas of the Trinity and Doug (i sit all around the ground as i dont have a ST) you will sometimes notice funny looks if you have the temerity to shout or sing. The place is library.

Hahahaha if they don't sum man united up, **** hell. Shambles

I want us to ditch the pre-game music so we can dispel this myth that it's the reason why the atmosphere is so shit.

Tonight was the third time he has needed treatment for a bloodied face and on each occasion the foul was given against him. The other two were:
Brentford last season
Chelsea this season
Incredible.

Just checked but Spurs still have Man C Arsenal and pool to play as well. Kinda negates the arguement
Well it doesnt. You take those 3 games out for both clubs and then you compare the fixtures.

6 wins out of 12 sounds nice but we have Man City away, Arsenal away and Liverpool at home 2nd last game when they may be gunning for the title.
I know they aren't automatic losses but being cautious take those out and its 6 wins out of 9.
Its why the Luton game is massive.
Tottenham have Palace Luton and Notts Forest as their next 3 at home coming up and their last 2 games will be against already relegated Burnley and Sheffield United.
I honestly think it comes down to the next 2 games for us, winning v Luton and Spurs.

West Ham-Frieburg in the Europa League is a pretty big fixture when it comes to UEFA nation ranking. Guess we have to root for the ham rather than the burg.
Im just happy they are in it so they are in same boat with the Thursday games when we play them.

Is it hard to get tickets for these games? I’ve never been to Dam.
Would imagine it would go to away 10+ this season. Might be a handful to drop ST holders.

They moaned about the fans all week. Yet they had them there amped up, baying for blood at 1-1 with United's players heads gone and proceeded to do **** all.

Pass the **** ball kamara

Pau would be a breath of fresh air to the team. Particularly the midfield and the full backs. Just the change in impetus it will give would give would automatically raise the game of the midfield and the fullbacks. The stuff that Kamara and Luiz did for Watkins goal v Sheffield United is what we are missing against the better teams.

This is what we are right now.
Too much stock in beating an awful Sheffield United side.

I don't really get the new trademark: it doesn't solve any of the many issues going on with the first iteration, bar the comically poor drop shadow (which they didn't have to replace the lion to fix?). And now with the new lion, putting this badge digitally at a smaller size... judge for yourself. The contrast and colouring is horrific: the last one is somehow better on this regard, imo!
I hope that the trademark's to cover the physical, more detailed lion that'll probably be on the kits (and I don't get why they'd need to do that at all) as opposed to the actual design that'll also be digital, because.. eep.
It stands out to me.
The other badges look absolutely shite.
The villa one is Simple, clean, classic and more id say looks classier than of the others ones.
I dont buy the shirts, but if they werent football club badges and i had to choose one to wear as a logo on a shirt it would be the villa one.

I am a bit surprised that a Luton, Burnley or Sheffield United haven't taken a gamble on Chambers. He would do a decent job for one of them.
He's not good enough for them. He can't run or defend, is not strong enough to play CB..what decent job is he going to do?
I can still see that Arsenal branding is working for him. Was greeted pretty universally as a clever buy, shrewd in fact, by villa fans at the time.
He's always been shit got Arsenal on this CV so automatically rated him. In the same bucket as "played for Arsenal make them England Internationals" Jenkinson, Maitlend Niles and Kieron **** Gibbs.
One of Gerrard's "INtERnaTIOnaL and EuROpeAn ExPeRIEnce" signings.
