    Anyone saying we played badly is wrong. We dominated 75 mins of the 90. Ramsey was annoying in finishing all day. Should have gotten a lot more goals and then conceding two should not have been a problem at all. Managers performance was good, we had some bad luck today.

    Most assists in the league with 10, 5th best in terms of goals. Only one behind Salah in terms of total goal contributions (goals plus assists). These are absolutely elite numbers. And we want to find someone to compete with him - better spend 100 mill...

    Duran at a goal every other game in the PL. Chelsea just extrapolating 18 games a season from that.

    I'm assuming this is a moneyball buy. They're seeing something in the stats that they think when mixed in with the rest of our squad show us a significant benefit to some under the radar stat they believe in. Things don't have to seem obvious on paper for them to work in practice. Our recruitment team aren't dumb.

    He scores in some weird ways that's for sure. I've never seen so many goals by one dude scored in such unusual ways.

    From Cannock, Manchester for uni, London from 2005-2012, Chicago 2012 onwards. I can say hands down that the least welcoming and the place the felt least like home in that entire time was London. Never worked for me.

    I like all these rumors. Fill up the U-21 and academy please. With the way FFP is going it's the only way to long term success (even with being in the CL).

    Brighton aren't and never will compete for the title. They're 100% a feeder club and they make handsome profits from that being their business model.

    Reading all the FFP stuff, listening to Emery, it seems we should prepare ourselves for not doing any business this month. I'm supportive of that if it's what the team has decided is best.

    There's no point crying over spilt milk. FFP is what it is and there is nothing we can do about this.

    No that's the wrong way to think about it: when you sell you get to book that revenue in that year for FFP purposes. But when you buy, you amortize the costs over the length of the contract. So say we were in a big FFP hole, and we sell Jack for 100, and buy 3 players for 100, each on 4 year deals then effectively we've made a gain in that year of 100 - 100/4 = 75 million. And you've magically cleared FFP and delayed the issue. Then we lose 25 million a season for the next three seasons after that (in this simple example).

    Most likely just gamesmanship from the team. Use a source to spread a message that we're doing no business - it helps with the negotiation: "sir, we aren't desperate, but if you NEED the cash right now we'll happily take your player at a low price"
