    Yes but Italy are doing the best and will almost certainly get one. It’s between us and Germany for the second spot. They are slightly ahead of us at the moment. We need the English clubs to do well and the German clubs to do badly. So support the English teams and hope that Athletico Madrid beat Dortmund. Unfortunately we could also do with West Ham beating Leverkusen, City beating Real Madrid and Arsenal beating Bayern. Liverpool beating Atalanta is the only one I feel confident about. It should all become clearer after this round. Edit- forgot us! Villa beating Lille helps the 5th place spot also so it is partly in our own hands.

    Nobody knows yet. Apparently there is a good chance but the next round of European fixtures should give a better idea. Basically you need to root for all the English teams in the next few weeks.

    To be fair to the person that started that thread, I think they make some good points about the Europa League being a more winnable competition. I want CL because of what it would mean for the club, for financial and status reasons, what it would mean to the players and coaches. However, there is a part of me that thinks Europa League might be a more enjoyable experience, and a more natural step up. However, I also agree with Emi’s comments about achieving CL qualification would be like a title for us in that nobody expects us to get it so of course I want that.

    They do but I think they’re playing with their first choice 11 now aren’t they? I can’t think of a single significant absentee for them.

    I’m no expert but surely if the hamstring scan shows a “small injury”, he’s unlikely to be back for the weekend either. Unai was equally dismissive of the Ramsey injury yet we’ve not seen him since. Hopefully, I’m wrong and he’s fighting fit for Brentford. What do you think @Deano & Dalian's Umbrella?

    Agree, whilst we don’t suit parking the bus, I do think we need be cagey in our approach for this reason.

    I think Konsa has had a couple of yellows for petulant type behaviour hasn’t he? Definitely Dougie has. It’s a lesson we don’t seemed to have learned as the season has gone on either. That said it infuriates me when I see other players getting away with similar behaviour knowing we have players close to suspension for having been booked for those offences.

    Honestly, I think we’ll finish 5th. Spurs have the slightly easier run and we have more games to play. I won’t care at all as long as 5th gets CL, this is the most crucial thing of all and we do have a partial say in that.

    They seem to be getting stick for how bad they were in front of goal today, particularly Haaland. Not sure that bodes well for us to be honest.

    I agree, if we signed him permanently on the basis of a few good performances amongst some really dodgy ones then I think we would regret it in the same way we regret Coutinho.
