Were they saying that his goal yesterday was the third most powerful in premier league history, or third most powerful of the season?
This season I can believe. As strong as it was, I feel like I've seen many that were stronger.

I didnt listen to it but its Deeney so guessing its bullshit
He said he had a chance to sign for us back in 2013, but part of the conversation was that he would have to get his SHA tattoo removed. Judging by what he said it seems this, along with his family's reaction, are the only reasons he didn't.

Personally, my problem with Southgate isn't to do with his record. My problem is that his England side is so unimaginably dull to watch. To a fan football is entertainment, and there's nothing entertaining about his tactics.

Followed by some sad old word removed reminiscing about small heath fluking a league cup win 13 years ago, no arsenal in the ground at 2pm mate, forty thousand blooze mate.
Daz the Spaz - “ you were there when it mattered mate”. Gobble gobble slurp slurp. Mate.
followed by yet another trailer for Rakeeeeeeeeeem Wankah.
Followed by the ravings of Dan Dan the Wassall cabbage.
worth the license fee, mate
I'm sure I've asked this before, but why do you continue to inflict this torture on yourself? What are you, some kind of masochist?
Not that I'm complaining or anything - your synopses are pure entertainment.

Ben Chrisene is on loan at Blackurn too and played 90 minutes in their win yesterday so another DVB to play against them...
Chrisene hattrick incoming, it's written in the stars.

Perhaps Mowbray is collecting the west midlands clubs like Brucie did, and we'll get him next?
No chance. There's no doubt an incubator in Bodymoor Heath containing a clone of Unai Emery, ready for when he leaves us.

6 CL group games, lose them all. It’s easy.
What about the other 7 losses?

I have no faith in any of football's governing bodies. They've set a precedent with Everton that they will not follow, and they will provide no explanation or justification for it. There is no justice, only greed.

A decent video all round if you fancy watching it, but skip to 7:19 to enjoy the final two awards. I'm convinced she's a secret Villa fan for this.

Interestingly, I went to collect my tickets at The Recreation Ground (Aldershot’s stadium) I went into the club shop, requested my 4 tickets which I brought online via Aldershot’s ticketing site, and the lady behind the desk said they weren’t there. So 2nd time lucky I will try again today.
To be fair it's a while away, they probably haven't released the tickets yet.

He is. So is John Bishop. God for bid if they beat the Baggies!
Few games before West Brom 1st obviously, Chesterfield away on Saturday, Woking (H) Boxing Day and Woking (A) NYD.
It'll be great preparation. All of those teams are bigger than West Brom.

Anyone listen to Souness talking about world class players on Talkshite? I actually agree with what he was saying but interesting Emi's name wasn't mentioned. Can only assume he doesnt think he is or is simply fixated on traditional "big teams". I would consider Emi world class but its clearly a very subjective matter. Thing is he was instrumental in winning Copa America, world cup and now a huge part of Villa's resurgence plus officially world number 1 keeper. What do you have to do to get that recognition?
If the term "world class" doesn't apply to Emi, then it's a meaningless term as far as I'm concerned.

This is the greatest retort in the history of arguments. "If more people liked us, we'd be more popular than you."

Their obsession with Emery is probably the most pathetic thing in football right now.
Long may they never win a European Cup.
I'm convinced it's shoddily concealed envy. Same with Emi. It's the only logical explanation.

I thought Spurs fans were whiny little crybabies, but Jesus Christ, Arsenal fans are making them look totally reasonable. Must be something about North London.

Interesting to watch this 5 years later.
Gary Neville is spot on here whereas Carragher is wrong.
Reason why it didn't work out at Arsenal is because of egos and players not buying into his philosophy.
The only part of what he said that I don't agree with is how top managers don't need a plan b. He's right about them making plan a better, but there should always be a plan b and Unai has proven the worth of that here.
Incidentally, I respect him for acknowledging his own failures as a manager. It gives him a unique perspective on how hard the job actually is, and how good the best ones really are.

There was an image doing the rounds on Twitter after the Spurs match with Ange and Unai having a chess match, with Unai winning at the end.
I got similar vibes from this game where it was move and counter-move from Unai and Pep.
Emery is a chess Grandmaster.
If Pep Guardiola is Magnus Carlsen, then Unai Emery is Stockfish.

I've been mostly entertained tbf
The one thing they have going for them is that they are incredibly entertaining, just not in the way they want to be.
They remind me of that scene from The Simpsons where Sideshow Bob keeps stepping on rakes.

I suppose it could be said the threat of a winding up order was the lowest “unimaginable” depth.
I often forget how close we came to oblivion before NSWE came along. Man u fans will never know what's it's like to support a team that has true lows.

Yeah I’m of a similar thought but as I wasn’t alive then I don’t feel qualified to be too dismissive of winning stuff back then.
My somewhat sarcastic George Ramsey comment is me trying to allude to the futility of comparing different eras. He won loads, but there’s no one alive who remembers it so it doesn’t count.
And one day, let’s say 50 years from now, this era will be looked back upon as kinda quaint and not as good as what football will be in 50 years time. It’ll be “Unai Emery? Oh sure he was probably good for that time, very good even. But come on, they were still pissing about with VAR back then, it doesn’t compare to the modern game.”
Ultimately, we can have the debate, but it’s kinda pointless.
A good point, but it'll be harder to ignore Unai's greatness when there's a solid gold statue of him outside the stadium, and all four stands are named after him.
Please tell me when to stop laughing at SHA
