Hi, I've just joined this forum and would like to tell you of my love for Aston Villa. My name is John, originally from Dublin Ireland, we moved to Winson Green when I was 6 and it was here that I was introduced to AVFC . My first live game was in Jan 1975 a 4-1 home win over Sheffield Utd in the FA Cup after that I was addicted and went to many of the home fixtures. We then moved to Stechford in '77 and it was here I met who were to become my best lifelong friends who had the same passion for the club. We began travelling all over the UK following the Villa even though we were in our very early teens. My personal favorite of all time is Villa Everton league cup final 2nd replay at Old Trafford it was here that the famous chant A V F C Aston Villa are MAGIC filled the streets and stadium in Manchester with Villa running out 3-2 winners after extra time. In the late 70's I done 2 whole seasons attending every game home and away, but in the early 80's the family moved back to Ireland and although I traveled as much as I could I never got to as many games I would of liked to. My biggest highlight was being a sponsor of the Villa Leeds FA Cup 5th rnd in Jan 2000 (3-2 Villa Carbone hatrick) and seeing my name in the official program.
