  1. Liverpool must be so embarrassed they lost 7-2 to this villa team.
  2. 3-0 down at HT. Manager won’t have a clue what do as ever. No point watching the rest of the game.
  3. Oh another free kick to them. We just make it so f***ing easy.
  4. Of course you don’t give Ward Prowse two free kicks in those areas. He’s a specialist from there. It’s like our players are so dumb.
  5. They’ve probably got hardly any debt either which would attract a buyer. But looking at their assets I can only really think of Tarkowski, Pope and McNeil who would generate any serious funds. Their stadium is pretty awful too.
  6. How on Earth are Burnley valued at £200m? Any buyer paying that must be off his rocker.
  7. Not wishful thinking really to hope for at least a point against a solid midtable Prem team at home. We've beaten better in Liverpool and Leicester already. Sides like Brighton, Newcastle, Palace and West Ham are supposedly 'established' teams too, but I wouldn't' be happy with a draw against any of those teams at home. We've invested a lot in the team to be able to compete against such teams. I think if at least the majority of our first 11 perform well then we will take something, at least a draw and possibly even a win. If none of them turn up, as happened against Leeds, then it's curtains again. But I really wouldn't expect a non-performance from the whole team to happen in 2 consecutive games.
  8. They're a decent side with a very good manager, I rate Hassenhuttl highly, but anything less than a point in this game is disappointing. Especially if we have designs on being comfortably midtable this season. I'd probably take a draw but the aim has to be 3 points. Our record against them in recent years is dire and it's about time we put that right. We also need a positive result and performance following the Leeds shambles.
  9. Sorry meant to say ‘style of play’ not ‘player’. But I totally agree with you. It’s one game, it was poor but one to forget, there could be many reasons why we played the way we did. What’s important is that we respond well to this defeat, we don’t want to go on a bad run of form which happened on several occasions last season.
  10. Of course not but when you lose a football match, especially in the manner we did on Friday, people will understandably look to identify the reasons behind it. If people didn’t give their opinion, positive or negative, there’s not much point in this forum.
  11. I think to get to the next level (which is Wolves/Leicester standard) we have to have a mix of good players and a good system. To be honest I still don’t know what Dean Smith’s style of play actually is. I think we have a number of good players now but are still being outdone tactically. Leeds are an anomaly in that they have a great system full of runners and ball players but hardly any individuals who you think wow when you see them. That’s why Bielsa is a great manager. I still think we’ll be fine this season and do much better than last. But Friday was a big wake up call for sure and a reminder not to get ahead of ourselves.
  12. Yes, they are a much better ‘team’ than us. Relying on individuals, remember, is an indication that the manager is a bit sub par. He needs to bring the best out of limited players too otherwise he’s not doing his job properly. Someone like Bamford is not particularly talented, but Bielsa has found a role for him and he’s performing it brilliantly. He couldn’t even score for Boro in the Championship before he joined Leeds. It wasn’t just the manager, the players also let themselves down. McGinn, Grealish, Barkley, Watkins, all below par. Now I suspect that is tiredness, and though it didn’t make any sense to change a winning team, players like Hourihane, Nakamba, El Ghazi, even Davis coming on at 60-70 mins may have stopped us getting overrun. Every time Leeds went forward they seemed to have acres of space to run into, whereas we had none whatsoever. There’s a clear reason for that and it’s because they were running harder than we were. I hope we see a response in the next game, which ain’t easy either.
  13. To be honest it's one game and the start we've had is better than I expected. So I don't think one result justifies laying into the manager too much. However, I would like to make a few points. A lot of people on here made a similar sort of remark about Bielsa that Gabby did during the week, that he was a myth and overrated. But what Bielsa has done with Leeds is nothing short of extraordinary. I've always rated him as a manager and can see why Leeds are so excited to have him there, he's simply a better manager than Smith. Last night when they had a guy on a yellow he made a change after just 20 minutes. You would never see Smith do that. Leeds go into every game, regardless of the team, looking to dominate and more often than not they do. Bielsa has made average Championship players like Ayling, Dallas, Bamford, Harrison and Shackleton look the part in the greatest league in the world. Everyone said last season that Dean didn't have the players, that we basically had a Championship team, well that Leeds team last night (other than maybe Koch) looked every bit the Championship team but certainly didn't play like it. I just feel tactically Dean needs to improve. His only tweak to the system seems to be to bring on Traore for Trezeguet and it was obvious we needed fresh legs last night and he once again made one sub. Last night's performance was really poor, there's no getting away from that. We were dominated at home against a side that has just come up from the Championship. Southampton at home will be another game like last night, they're greater than the sum of their parts, they'll press us high up the pitch, and if we play anything like we did last night we'll lose. It's just one game and I'm not getting carried away, but we need a response now. We could quite feasibly lose the next 2 games and we have to make sure that doesn't happen or this season could quickly become a struggle.
  14. Cash was probably our man of the match despite being exposed time and again. Jack was poor apart from a couple of moments along with Barkley, McGinn and Luiz. All of our midfield were shite and kept giving the ball away.
  15. Disagree. Didn't see what our game plan was tonight except to hit hopeful long balls up. We were really poor, as bad as we were at times last season, sorry.
  16. He does need to up his game. Didn't think he was great tonight or against Leicester. Think he has a lot of potential but he needs to win his battles more against defenders. Was too easily beaten to the ball tonight and it allowed Leeds to take the initiative.
  17. I think the performance rather than the result is the most concerning thing. You can lose any game in this league but you have to at least take the game to your opponents, we didn't even lay a glove on them. 12 shots to their 27, they bossed possession too, completely deserved to win. We couldn't even string two passes together the whole game. We've started the season well but that game was a huge wake up call. I'll be worried if we perform the same against Southampton.
  18. It was generally an awful performance. Don't remember us doing anything, our midfield was so poor. We have to bounce back against Southampton. Have to.
  19. Yes in my opinion it's a bad miss. He has to at least hit the target.
