  1. There is definitely some truth to this. Nyland had some stinkers and Kalinic has looked pretty ropey so far, but a keeper is never going to be outstanding with a circus quartet in front of them. The whole thing just breeds edginess.
  2. From the one angle provided on avtv it looked like a shot any good goalkeeper would have saved. Straight through/under him. In no mans land for a cross in the first half too where there was zero reason to come out and got lucky not to concede. Goalkeeping department seems a mess at the moment but the defence don't do anyone any favours.
  3. With the state of this club right now we are privileged to have this guy playing for us. Not only does he dig us out of holes, but his workrate and fight for the cause is so admirable considering he's playing at a level and in a team that quite frankly is beneath him. Will be very sad to see him go at the end of the season. A shining light in a pretty shocking season. Shame we didn't have him last year because we probably would've gone up.
  4. I actually agree with this. We are as poor now as we have been since we've been down here. The defence is truly horrific. The attacking 'threat' is well overblown as well. We had a purple patch for a few weeks and that was it. 30 games is enough of a sample size to see that these players aren't as good as many think. Would be so much worse without Tammy too. I still think Smith should be doing better though and it's frustrating that so much of the transfer window has elapsed without us fixing the problems that are slapping us in the face every week.
  5. Makes the pill even more bitter.
  6. This is exactly how it is. Staggering to think he has played at the standard he has and amassed so many international caps. Guess he's lucky Iceland has such a small population. Simply a terrible footballer who is absolutely clueless. It's like he has no chemistry or rhythm with the ball and he's always slower than the actual tempo. None of these things are new and he should be nowhere near the first 11.
  7. Not gonna happen, unless we fly in peak Nesta, Cannavaro and the real Cafu. We would need a dramatic turnaround and a run of multiple wins on the bounce to challenge for playoffs. Points gap widening and games running out. My heart always wants to believe but my head tells me we'll be nowhere near. We are a poor team.
  8. I don't think he'll be good enough long term, doesn't seem to have enough about him and I'm not convinced of his footballing abilities. At least he still has time to develop though and I would much rather have him starting games over Adomah or Bolasie who are only going one way from here.
  9. I've mentioned it before but he really is just a headless chicken making it up as he goes along. Will whip a great ball in after some peculiar stepovers/dance moves then pump one to the back of the Holte lower under no pressure a few minutes later. Maybe his unpredictability worked for him when he was younger and maybe a tad quicker but he's not ripping the championship up like his wage and reputation would suggest he should be. He isn't even close. I bet there's players out there earning 10% of what he does who could make more of an impact. I know he isn't the one who gave himself a big contract but we should look to terminate the loan, even if Everton are still paying part of those astronomical wages. Total flop.
  10. Wasn't at his farcical worst, but still average performance at best. Couple of good yet rough tackles but rarely influences games in a positive way. It's like striking gold when he's better than awful. We deserve better than Neil Taylor.
  11. Haha fixed. Wouldn't want anyone else thinking that! Slowly he's become one of the players I dislike the most. Shame too, when we signed him after being the main man at Barnsley I thought we'd be getting a real gem who had maybe slipped through the net in his younger years at Sunderland. Can now see quite clearly why he never made it.
  12. I'm McGinn's biggest fan. If only his energy and influence rubbed off on the rest of them.
  13. As much of an improvement that was made in the second half, how many clear cut chances did we create? Hull should have been 3-0 up and we'd have been buried. Chester effectively created a two goal swing in a few minutes. In form or not, it's Hull City. Not good enough. If we'd peppered the keeper and been hitting the woodwork maybe it'd be different, but we scraped a draw and it's all I feel we deserved. He does deserve time, but I'm not confident in him being a promotion winning manager here and would be astonished if we were even close to playoffs come May.
  14. Always gives so much space to his opponent, makes me so nervous when he is so narrow and you see his man in acres just waiting to be picked out. Didn't think he was awful today though. Lovely misshit cross which is so Hutton and offered support without getting fatally caught out which was a nice surprise. My expectations right now could not get much lower.
  15. This chump will be happy with another assist today. If only you got points for being knocked off the ball and flailing arms around at the injustice of being outfought. IT'S NOT A FOUL CONOR. I hate our midfield.

    Defence

The way they all panic on the ball under the slightest pressure you'd think it was a nuclear weapon. Just dreadful.
  17. Needs to be put out to pasture. Bad grandpa.
  18. Legs more open than an Amsterdam prostitutes. Can't defend or pass, too slow and made Pilkington look like Ronaldo.
  19. I know it's easier for us to slate players right now, and deservedly so. But I thought he was the only positive today in a sea of negatives. It's come to be expected from him but his grit and determination is more than the rest of the team combined. That run in the second half where he drove and drove past a few of them epitomized him as a player. Always gives everything and tries to carry the team on his shoulders. Only player worthy of wearing the shirt.
  20. He'd surely be furious with being taken off. Centre back isn't often a position you see changed and at 1-0 down it wasn't like he'd done much particularly wrong. Felt like he was almost being scapegoated. Hause was ten times worse.
  21. Absolutely astonishing Everton paid £25m for this muppet. I know it's not a huge amount of money nowadays and they've signed a few stinkers over the years but how?! Surely an injury can't turn him into this? He trips over his own feet and doesn't have anything other than a few tricks he seems to make up on the spot. Like just smashing random buttons on fifa trying to skin a player. Shite.
  22. I'm starting to really dislike him. Nothing more than a little diva running around scared of getting stuck in.
  23. Shocking. Poor in possession, slow and clumsy. Nowhere near good enough and never has been. I cannot believe our options are him or Whelan. It's a tragedy.
  24. Yeah it ain't happening. I was gonna head home in May for 8 weeks to catch last home game of season and hopefully a play-off run ending at Wembley but think I'll just do 4 weeks from June now. I'm gonna save a fair bit on spending money!
