  1. Please do. You’ve already got three of Ashton Gate’s all time favourite players in your team - Adomah, Kodjia and Abraham. Admittedly Albert was more for his personal charm than his all round effectiveness, though.
  2. Interesting that Bristol City have now received an official apology for the ref’s decisions in the match.
  3. After Saturday I don’t think you should be too high and mighty about penalties and offsides!
  4. Really? I’ve seen Alan Nixon argue this. But surely FFP helps protect fine old clubs from the possibility of rogue owners crushing them. Look at Bolton. I’m not saying FFP could prevent that, but it might help. While you have a wealthy owner able and willing to pump money in, you’re fine. But how would you feel if an ambitious owner overspent, failed to get you promoted and walked away, leaving the club in liquidation? You can always assume that a new rich owner will pick up the tab, but the Bolton mess shows that a tipping point can be reached where the club is no longer worth the price needed to keep it going.
  5. He’s still loved at Bristol City. Always in the right place for tap ins and a brilliant attitude. Nice lad.
  6. Just put him out with the bins. We’ll take him.
  7. But two clubs currently above you in the table are apparently fighting over him. Interesting.
  8. But he used to be excellent. So what happened?
  9. As a Bristol City fan, I’m disappointed that Sheff Utd seem to be signing Hogan, rather than us. Evidently most of you think he is pants. Yet most of us have seen him being excellent for Brentford. So has he dropped radically after his injuries? Or has the “Villa effect” ruined another expensive acquisition?
  10. From a playing point of view “getting stuck with Kodjia” is fine - he did well for us and we didn’t resent his move. The issue is more financial - if lots of high earners stay, can Tony’s Here afford to keep paying them all. If not, where next?
  11. As an outsider, I think your last sentence is the key one. You’ve been paying so high, the question is not whether other clubs want eg Kodjia, but whether any will pick up their contracts. Why would Kodjia leave if Villa are obliged to pay him £40K (?) and nobody else will? That is your millstone.
  12. Hi. Although a Bristol City fan, one of my earliest football memories (around 1964) is a guided tour of Villa Park, as my dad went to school with Phil Woosnam. Spurs were the opposition and I still have the autographs from that day (I was 8). Can we have Albert back please? He remains a huge favourite at Ashton Gate.
