  1. My last ever post on here..........I promise............Well at least for a very long time. The Championship isn't a bad league, and it's better to have a team that can compete well in that league, than a team that keeps getting hammered in the Premiership, we've both found that out in recent years. I've just watched a replay of the match, and the commentators were just full of praise for Steve Bruce, and the job he's done since he arrived, so I was a bit surprised by some of the hate towards him on here. But as has already been pointed out, you watch your team every week. My own view is that when football fans call for the managers head when you have just had quite a successful season, there's something wrong somewhere. At least you aren't Liverpool fans though, those scum have been wishing death on their goalkeeper, how I'd love to see every last one of their fans see their poxy overrated club relegated, that's what they deserve. My final point, and it does make me laugh a bit. You get used to the disappointment of defeat? What have you won? 7 FA cups, 7 League titles, and a European cup? and you're moaning about getting used to defeat? Give me strength, try supporting Fulham for 60 years, or 100 if you've lived that long. That's when you get used to the disappointment of defeat. League titles =0 FA cups = 0, League cups = 0 we've reached 2 major finals in our history, and we lost them both.
  2. Blimey, some of you guys are a bit harsh on your manager and your team aren't you? Fulham are a good side, but in the second half Villa came out and gave it a right go. I'm a Fulham supporter yes, but I saw a couple of things from Fulham players today that I really didn't like. Forget Odoi, I thought Fredericks stamping on Grealish was way out of order, and Kamara's theatrics for the second game on the trot, trying to con the ref for a penalty doesn't sit well with me at all. For what it's worth I thought we should have ended up with 9 players on the pitch, and you lot 10, because Grealish's challenge on Cairney was also way out of order. It was a scorching hot day, and Fulham make other teams work hard, so I think some of you should be a bit more forgiving of your team. You're not the team you were a few years ago, and neither are we for that matter. I'm not going to gloat about the result, instead I would like to wish you every success for next season. You guys won't be down for long, you all know that. I have a feeling you'll all enjoy next season, just as we have this time after losing in the play offs last season. Fulham on the other hand, are going to find things tough. I honestly feel for your supporters, it was always going to be tough on whoever lost. Best of luck to you all.
  3. My post was obviously meant to get to some of you who would be likely to respond to it, but to be fair, it's a pretty accurate reflection of how I feel about this game. We will dominate the game, I'm quite sure of that, but that view is held by many, including a lot of you guys. Do I fear the current Villa team, no I don't, I honestly don't. I fear you somehow winning the game, because of course that could happen, but going into the game, I'm quite confident that Fulham are the better side. Now obviously I realise that that's not something that a Fulham fan has been able to say very often in the history of football. Villa are a far bigger club, they have more supporters, and they've won a lot of stuff, compared to our total of 0 trophies. nobody who supports Fulham would dispute this, but at this very moment in time, I think Fulham are better. You complain about my arrogance, but reading through this whole thread, it's filled with digs about tin pot Fulham, their piss poor support, and other similar crap, and that's what I call arrogance. Of course, it's an Aston Villa forum, so you are probably quite within your rights to say all this, but don't throw your toys out of the pram when you get just a little bit back. Now, the bloody clappers, like one of your fans on this thread, I too am 60 next month, and at my age, I can't get my head around the bloody things, I hate them, and think they are embarrassing. I hope all the fans enjoy the day, but in your case, obviously not the result, if you win, I'll gladly come on here and congratulate you, because it's a game of football, hopefully nobody dies. Until Saturday evening then, I'll either be ecstatic, or gutted, but if your admin allows me to comment one way or the other, then I will.
  4. We've missed more penalties, than an Afghani diplomat, if it goes to penalties, I'll start my walk home.
  5. Where did you get my picture from? that's when I went to Wealdstone a few years ago. (lol)
  6. Yeh, I reckon you've sussed me out there Mr Pieface. Losing this game doesn't worry me, I quite like the championship, what worries me is seeing our current team decimated if we fail to gain promotion, because that's what will happen. I probably shouldn't say this, but I honestly think we're going to win, I'm pretty confident, except if it goes to penalties, if that happens, we're ferked. If it goes to penalties, you guys are the biggest certainties since David took on Goliath.
  7. John Terry is past it, that's why the second best team in London SW6 got rid of him. I'll leave you with my final thoughts, after all, we'll be in different divisions next season. I honestly believe Fulham will totally boss this game, you guys are going to spend 90 minutes shitting yourselves. I've been reading about how well you played against Wolves, but we totally embarrassed Wolves, we are a far better team than Wolves, we just took forever to find our true form this season. Here's how it is, Fulham fans do not fear Aston Villa in the slightest, if we have an on day, there will only be one winner, and it ain't gonna be this current Villa team, what we fear is ourselves, Fulham have a way of always messing things up, that's what we fear. If it goes to penalties, good luck to you all in the Premier League next season.
  8. Do you know what Nemesis means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent, personified in this case, by the mighty Fulham. Sorry guys, but you're gonna get fed to the pigs.
  9. Yeh I can understand that, I'm not going to be too concerned going into the game, Fulham are really playing well, but I won't exactly fall off my chair if you guys win 3-0 either. We were the only team Sunderland could beat at home when they were losing to absolutely everybody. We had the Brentford match sewn up when we let them get a goal back with 3 seconds left to play. We totally bottled the second half against QPR, and we were arsehole lucky to go in level against Millwall at half time. We can play some great stuff, but we can be very nervy too, none of us will know until the day. I'm sorry, but I can't wish you all good luck, what sort of Fulham fan would that make me?
  10. McCormack was excellent for us, no idea what happened there.
  11. Well, you know how these things go, I'm sure we still have enough part time fans who will come out of the woodwork for a Wembley final. As I've always said to people who knock our home support, you try spending 30 years in the lower divisions and see what happens to your support. Especially in London, where there are so many glamorous alternatives for the pot hunters. Including the other team in SW6. A lot of our older fans have died off, and I can remember trying to convince my son that our family have always been Fulham fans and that he too must be one, at the time we were dire. In a way we were lucky that Al Fayed came along, and we got those 14 years in the Premiership, it helped us to attract new young fans, because without Chairman Alf, who knows what would have happened. I'm not going to invade your board with posts, but I look at it this way. If Aston Villa don't do it this year, they'll almost certainly do it next year or the year after, they're too big a club to spend much time in the championship. On the other hand, if Fulham don't do it now, we could very easily lose our best players, in fact it's almost certain to happen, we could get relegated next year.
  12. I was a bit worried that the admin on here might be a bit too restrictive, but I'm pleased that doesn't seem to be the case, so thank you for the welcome. I'm a Fulham fan, and I have been all my life, I'm knocking on a bit now, and so I can remember watching the likes of George Cohen and Johnny Haynes playing for Fulham back in the 60's. Very pleased we beat Derby, because we owed them from 1983 when their fans invaded the pitch when we needed one goal for promotion and the game didn't even last 90 minutes. Who knows what will happen in next weeks game? obviously I'm hoping Fulham can win it, but as has already been pointed out, we never win anything, and we have a bad habit of messing things up in finals, or just with seconds to go, so it could easily go either way. Am I confident? no I'm not, but I have seen Fulham play fantastically well this season, so if they do that next Saturday, you guys will have to perform very well. Looking forward to it, as I'm sure you all are, but dreading it going tits up.
  13. Been reading your Promotion charge thread with interest for a few weeks now, and it's all finally come down to the two most obvious candidates for promotion. My team, Fulham, who, has already been pointed out on here, are crap, and have never ever won a coconut in their history, against one of the best teams in the whole of Birmingham. Happy to discuss more, but if I've got to put my hand up and ask your moderators if I can please post, then maybe I won't be getting involved. I think at the moment, you lot are good, but we are better, Derby couldn't park their bus, and I don't think you'll be able to park yours either. The Duck Of Death.
