  1. Was at Nuneaton last night. Overall, a good game and deserved the win. Brilliant start, a lovely team goal with a cool finish by Tommi O’Reilly. The equaliser was a well taken goal, running down the channel, cutting inside and curling it into the corner. We retook the lead with a great individual goal, O’Reilly running towards goal and finished left footed into the top corner. Nuneaton levelled again early second half with a shot from the edge of the area. Not one for Wright to look back on. The winner came from the persistence of Shakpoke, managing to somehow to scramble through and was brought down by the keeper. Shakpoke stroked home the penalty with the goalie going the wrong way. Revan had a good game at right back, unlucky not to score first half. Was more or less a winger first and solid second half. Tommi O’Reilly was the pick of the midfielders. Afoka was busy on the wing. Late on he when on a great run, only for his shot to find the carpark. Wright, S.Revan, Munroe, A.O'Reilly, Feeney, Alcock (sub: Pierre), Afoka, E.Rowe, Wilson (sub: Shakpoke), T.O'Reilly, K.Young. Unused Subs: Hammond (GK), Katsukunya, Moore
  2. For what its worth, I voted for the lamp shield. However, when asked if It should replace the current badge I said no. Its all about the lion, the rest is basically like salad on a dinner plate: not fussed at all about it. While I get the basic principle of swapping the direction, its just a non-starter for me. Get our lion to face the right way.

  7. He was generally referred to as ‘Mr Brum’ or ‘The Birmingham ******’ It was a general reference to the Second City, used in cartoon form both football illustrations and wider geography terms in early 20th century newspapers. Remember that photos in newspapers weren’t a regular thing until the mid to late 1920s. Illustrations was common place before this (and continue to this day). In the local football newspapers (the Argus or Sporting Mail) you would have little cartoons sections explaining last week’s results or that days fixtures.
  8. Nothing as yet, neither the club or the premier league. Its normally the first week in June. First team fixtures are out next week, I would assume we’d get something before that.
  9. I’d echo what others have said. K.Young looked very lively. Interesting that over the last few weeks we’ve pushed some of the back four into midfield. Overall, a bit unlucky to come away with nothing. Allen’s goal for Newcastle was really superb, while the winner was a fluke.
  10. Around 2011-13 the reserve league was reformated to U21 and a couple of years later was extended to U23 so its not anything new. Its too long ago to rememeber what the over age limit was back then. Anyway, overall it shouldn't affect us too much if at all.
  11. Thanks for the notes OBE. Yeah, it’s a petty issue (although I will say the last 31 of those 191 appearances were somewhat tainted, but that’s something for another day!). The thing is Mellberg shares his birthday, as does the GK coach Cutler, aswell as FA Cup winner Stan Crowther. The solutions are there, the hate would have been diluted. I think its more a case of whether the club has any overall structure/organisation to whats put on twitter or whether its more ad hoc. What information does the twitter team have at their disposal and who signs off/approves them before they tweet. It’s the same with the U23/21/18’s teams. I assume the twitter team can’t communicate if they don’t have the information to pass on. We tend to get decent info for the Premier League 2 games, but next to nothing for Birmingham Senior Cup. Whats the procedure? Are the different departments within the club not allowed to talk to one another?
  12. Sorted. Got 2 against Albion, I had 1 and an own goal!
  13. I'm 1 goal out. Doh! Thats my afternoon sorted then.....
  14. A few things: Transport – I know its not the clubs fault. 45 minute wait at Aston Station to get back to the city centre isn’t good. Could the club put on buses (that could use the mostly empty bus lanes!) that could ferry people back to the centre quickly. Have the club liaised with other clubs that run such schemes? Website – Sylla is still on the OS as one our U18 players. Furthermore, give the club a bollocking over the BSC coverage. Also, thank the club for putting the Brighton highlights on youtube. I assume they’ll be doing the same for the upcoming fixtures? Communications – the club put a statement out at a few months ago about supporters should bring evidence of their covid jabs with them to the game. No one at the ground has ever asked me about this. Can the club confirm if they are doing this on matchdays?
  15. The Stourbridge OS has a confirmation of subs and goal times for both teams: PDF Downloadable Team Sheet
  16. Got my third jab last weekend. Crazy to think some folks haven't had one at all.
  17. 1-2 FT Not a bad game to watch. Sloppiness at the back was our major downfall, lost count of how many times we gave the ball away in dangerous areas. Looked good on the break, just couldn’t get the final pass away. Very noticeable how deep Caleb got second half in order to get in the game. Thorndike was the stand out for me (unlucky to hit the post with a free kick), closely followed by Feeney. Caleb’s goal was jammy, just a closed down the goalie and deflected off him into the net. Theirs were a pen and a direct free kick. They should have had a couple more second half. Team: Zych, Ealing, Patterson (sub Barber), Zito, Feeney, Lindley, Firth, Hart (sub O’Reilly), Chukwuemeka, Thorndike, Goodridge (sub Afoka). Unsed Subs: Alcock, Wright. Note on the attendance, 1946, which is Stourbridge’s highest by some way this season.
  18. Tonight is Stourbridge in the second round of the BSC. It will be the 5th encounter between the two clubs in this competition. The previous four: 1990-91 Lost 1-4 scorers: Yorke 1989-90 Won 5-2 scorers: Williams, Blake, Mooney 1984-85 Won 6-0 scorers: Kerr 3, Birch, Walker 1912-13 Won 9-0 scorers: Hall 3, Doncaster 3, Strugnell 2, Watson
  19. Well if it is to be Gerrard, his first job will be to ask Boateng if he can have his studs back from out of his knee cap.
  20. The BSC second round draws been made. We're at Stourbridge. Awesome!
  21. Right then, the first round results are in for the Birmingham Senior Cup, so keep an eye out on the Birmingham FA twitter for the draw for the next round. 22. Thank you very much BOF & Chris Nee. Very much appreciated.
  23. Awesome. I’ve put some feelers out, but haven’t seen anything yet for a proper line-up/subs/scorers. If you know the subbed players aswell then just give us a quick shout please. Thanks. I had planned to go but West Midland Trains had other ideas!
  24. I’m clinically vulnerable as I take tablets for my arse aids, so I will be wearing a mask. On my face not my arse.
