  1. Our players aren't great, sure. But someone with some tactical knowhow at this level gives us a fighting chance. As we are with Smith, we have absolutely zero chance. We have to take a gamble now, surely. Sure, like others, I'm annoyed it's come to the point of having to most likely bring in an old school fire fighter, but it is what it is. The board cannot just sit back and accept relegation when there's still a chance that a change can turn our fortunes around. Purslow, etc. Act now!
  2. **** that... talk about frying pan into the fire. If we're going to make a change, bring in an experienced head who knows what they're doing.
  3. Gutless, pathetic cowardly display. Really didn't want to say it but I think we need to roll the dice now.... Its our only hope. He has to be sacked now if we want even a slither of a chance.
  4. Leicester have been shit for weeks now. Got to be targetting at least a point here surely
  5. That's what I'm clinging to as well. It would be totally typical if we pulled it out the bag on the big occasion after being totally dogshit all season long.
  6. Results today really haven't gone our way, but if some **** how we could pull off a miracle tomorrow... imagine the morale boost that would give everyone. Who expected Watford to beat Liverpool? Nobody. As I said before, it'll be touch and go all the way to the last game of the season.
  7. I've said from day 1 that I expected a tough season. We're roughly around where I expected to be at this point considering the upheaval in the summer. However, what has taken me by surprise is the sheer lack of fight at times, particularly away from home. I really thought we'd seen the last of that when Bruce left and the years before that when we finished rock bottom. That performance on Saturday was nothing short of disgusting. I'm a big Smith fan and wanted him to get the job. However, this season he has shown a complete lack of ability to change a game tactically and, judging on his comments, can't seem to motivate them either. This is a huge worry going into the last third of the season - we have seen the same repeated patterns pretty from from the beginning of the season. Very good football at times, followed by a turd half arsed performance the next. As much as I like Smith, he's not learning from his mistakes and this brand of football will take us down, we are far far far too open and he's changing nothing. My own thoughts are that regretably we should be sounding out a manager now to come in and save us, I just don't see it happening with Smith at all. Fwiw if we're thrashed on Sunday with another gutless display I think they'll pull the trigger anyway.
  8. A horrendous shower of shit. However, I'm taking consolation in that everyone around us is just as shit as we are and it'd be so like us to scab it on the final day despite being awful for the majority of the season. The Spurs performance still gives me hope we can just do it. Not looking forward to Wembley next week however, today was hide behind the sofa stuff **** knows what next week will be typically knowing this team we'll turn up next week and give it a good go because it's a big game and a final. Yet this shower cant be arsed for the bread and butter against the sides around us. Shambolic
  9. Our attacking play was excellent, our defence atrocious. But even with Mings, our defending is still atrocious, just less so! Performance was good but vulnerable at the back and 0 points to show for it. It'll be touch and go all the way to the last game folks, strap yourselves in...
  10. Looks like we've hit on a formula makijg us more solid at least. Stick to 3 at the back
  11. Anyone saying Poch, Rafa etc get your head out the **** clouds. The whole 'we're Aston Villa' arrogance rose tinted glasses are on again. Know our place, we are a side fighting relegation with a championship side. We ain't getting no top manager. The likes of Big fat Sam and Pulis is what we'd be looking at until the end of the season should Smith go, whether people like it or not. Pure delusion.
  12. That was a truly desperate performance. Much more of that and we'll have to be sounding out managers (if we aren't already). I expected a struggle, but when there's no fight then the manager's days are numbered, regardless of the contract situation. This is a poor side make no mistake, but surely they are better than this. Something drastically wrong with the coaching. What do we do in training? Off the ball we are clueless. What the **** do O'kelly and Terry do? Not a fat lot by the looks of it. Serious questions need to be asked of the whole coaching setup
  13. Very fortunate win but I'll take it. It's all about points
  14. I'm a big Smith fan, and commented earlier in the season that it was always going to be a battle this season, we'd have tough periods and we'll have to ride it out. However, even as a Smith fan, there are some seriously worrying trends currently. Starting halves slowly, the lack of intensity with and without the ball, the lack of running, the lack of closing down. The opposition have acres of space and so much time to do what they want against us it's ridiculous! Many of us myself included blamed Bruce when he was here for exactly what Smith is doing now - stubbornly playing the same way, having a lack of a game plan and making poor use of subs. At the moment, I really cannot fathom what our game plan is, and without Grealish we have nothing going forwards. What the absolute **** do we do on the training ground with that defence? Our defending at the moment is absolutely shambolic, yes Mings is out but even with him in the side we've been suspect. What input does JT have? As good a job as Smith did last season, as many have said, the timing of this contract extension is debatable at best. I'd like to think over the next few games he'll turn it around and we pick up some results to save us a potentially awkward decision to make, however I won't hold my breath. Really don't know what the answer is. On one hand, we stick with him and hope we ride out this rough patch and give him funds in January which are much needed, or we start sounding out candidates. This poor run can't go on regardless of the contract situation. If it's me I'd stick for now and give him the next 3 games. Fingers crossed we pick up in these games and we'll not be talking of manager change.. can't lie though I'm worried like many of you on here.
  15. Absolutely abysmal. Totally outfought and outplayed from start to finish, 2-1 hugely flattered us and a better side would have punished us more heavily. Dreadful
  16. You're right in respect it's the idiots on social media on both sides shouting the loudest. Your European exploits surely help us, not to mention your poor record against sides nearer the bottom.
  17. Tough game but one we're more than capable of getting something from. Their Thursday night game helps us.
  18. Various reports and Wolves local rag expecting a lot of their kids to be given game time. If so, surely we have to take advantage.
  19. By the sounds of it Wolves are going to go extremely weak. There for the taking for sure, hopefully we take it seriously.
  20. Complete charlatan. Thank the **** lord for Wes and Naseff.. Looking where we are today my god think what position we were in just over a year ago... could've been so much different for the worse.
  21. Managed to catch the 2nd half while on holiday in the States. Rode our luck at times but fabulous result, glad to get the first win
  22. It was only to highlight that we need to give the team and manager time and have a lot of improvement to do and hopefully we learn from disappointing results like this.
  23. Not really sure what some were expecting. This is a new side, that's going to take time to gel. A Spurs side missing key individuals and Bournemouth are still levels above us. It was always going to be a battle this year, this talk of comfortable midtable finishing is folly. This team will take 10 games or so before they start resembling a team. PATIENCE is required. Yes, it's been 2 disappointing results, but for god's sake. Look where we were a year ago, it's a miracle we are where we are today. Back the team and back the manager and give them some time FFS they're going to need our support it's a tough season ahead.
  24. And let's not forget, Bournemouth have a very poor away record and the 3rd worst defence last season. From that POV, extremely disappointing.
  25. Mixed feelings after that. Had a lot of the ball, played better 2nd half however stupid mistakes are costly and you can't give teams a 2 goal head start at this level. The team need to learn very quickly that this ain't the championship anymore, can't be losing concentration so easily. Slightly concerned at the lack of bite at the top end of the pitch, however. I think it'll be a while before we see anything resembling a cohesive unit with all the new faces bedding in. I expected a tough season and that's what we're going to get. All those predicting a comfortable midtable finish are in cloud cuckoo land I'm afraid. Oh, and a special mention the ref was absolutely **** awful how Billing didn't see red was baffling.
