  1. Thought we'd see a lot of the on loan older players- Nakamba / Sanson / Davis etc go, but with needing almost 2 teams next season, could be reason to keep them, at least until we sign replacements. You only have to look at the bench yesterday to see how short we are in attacking options.
  2. Superb today. Amazing what happens when you have a system which lets footballers play football.
  3. I'd keep Emery over any of the players. Emi is gone in the Summer anyway.
  4. Obviously hope we sign the right players if available. Getting rid of deadwood is still part of a successful window.
  5. Thought it was really clever to put Cash on r midfield. Nullified sessegnon, and gave us a good outlet.
  6. For me Bruce - when hourihane equalised with a last gasp free kick (Bolton?), and he didn't move an inch. DOL we won at blues and he ignored the fans and went to where Ellis was sitting. I may have got games wrong they all blur into one
  7. I think it's really proactive getting ready for the championship this early.
  8. "Jas said", really? Do you have a view yourself, or are you just filtering the negative from twitter?
  9. Don't let the score confuse the issue. That could have been embarrassing in the first half. We came into it when they stopped pressing. We scored, they pressed they scored again!
  10. Spot on. I'm not defending mcginn etc because they're not playing well but the formation really puts players in unnatural positions.
  11. On a different day we win this? What's that based on? We aren't in danger of relegation.Really? We really are, awful tactics upset players, creating nothing. That's relegation.
  12. Don't blame the players. You can tell he's lost them Stevie time to go.
  13. Read my post again. I never said he wasn't welcomed, I actually said he was welcomed, but for a particular reason. Smith's approach wasn't working, everyone, even those like myself, who were massive fans of his. SGs style and set up at Rangers was different, it isn't working out, but it offered a different approach modelled on Liverpool. He was a capable manager / coach. It hasn't worked out, but it doesn't make him, shit, clueless or a clown. All words used ( not necessarily by you), to describe him on this forum. It's these extreme reactions which make the discussions pointless. It's the same with some of the players. There can be shades of grey. So he won then? I agree, but there's no way a Champions League manager is coming to a club who haven't played in Europe in the last 2 decades. Fwiw, I'm not a fan of SG. I see no pattern/ plan. I think the football is negative and boring to watch. I think unless there's massive recruitment, or a change in tactics, we are massively in trouble this year.
  14. What's this got to do with "they" wanting a big name. How do you know "they" would have moaned at either of the others you name? There's a danger that 1 viewpoint gets conflated with another. I don't think anyone who has watched Villa under SG is impressed. I don't think anyone necessarily wants a big name, but if anyone on this forum is asked an opinion on a coach it's invariably going to be based on a well known coach because that's who we know about. Gérard wasn't "welcomed" by fans because he was a name, it's because he offered a different approach to a manager (who I loved), but had clearly lost his way. If you wanted Poch or Potter would you be guilty of wanting a big name?
  15. I wouldn't judge humour on my response - I'm notorious for things going over my head!
  16. Yes. When people are saying that they are gutted that the opposition didn't equalise. Gérard says mings was injured not dropped, people still disputing it. Perhaps I was wrong in comparing it to the matrix, more the conspiracy theories in the later X files.
