  1. To me this ties in with reports that it would initially be a controlling stake......presumably to get cash into the club immediately. Which will then lead to a full takeover. Really can't see any reason to be sceptical yet
  2. Erm...I'd say it was more to do with him having no cash to put into the club!
  3. Has 38.3k followers.....a lot of people would appear to trust what he says. Think some journos follow him too. Gut feeling is credible source....but been wrong before ?
  4. Apparently Xia told him no.....He wanted a larger than 20% stake. Minted he is aswell. Owns the Fruit & Veg shop at the Pelham!
  5. I personally don't give a rats ass where a new owner comes from.....heck, I'd even accept a scotsman.......but for crying out loud, can we please have an owner that a) gives a shit b) knows what the hell they are doing c) appoints people in key roles that also know what they are doing!
  6. Well his track record suggests he gets his 'news' from Twitter! I would say without doubt he has no idea what is happening....I mean, who is gonna be telling him? If there is an NDA in place, nobody will be telling that moron anything.
  7. So did China two years ago.....doh!
  8. I don't know if he's right or not...only time will tell. His tweets have often tied up with what other people seem to think too, so I wouldn't quosh it immediately. If you look through his timeline, 90% of his tweets are politics related. He doesn't put much stuff out about Villa...perhaps he knows somebody that knows?
  9. Don't worry, I've worked it all out......linking several recent rumours....it all makes perfect sense! Rumour of current interest by a group that have previously been linked with a take over = RED BULL Current Head of Global Football for Red Bull = GERARD HOULLIER - Previous manager of Aston Villa THIERRY HENRY - Played for New York Red Bulls in MLS So obvious, can't believe Gregg Evans hasn't sussed it yet! Sorted! ?
  10. With Round getting the bullet then I would say this is another huge sign that there are major things going on behind the scenes. I fully anticipate a sale to be very close. It's the only thing that makes sense to me given the events of the last 6 weeks.
  11. Is this the pre-cursor to a bigger announcement? Let's all pray!
  12. Because we could be about to be taken over?....like imminently maybe (hopefully)? New prospective owners may be able to plug the cashflow problems so as to avoid a firesale. Sure, players will go this summer....but perhaps (hopefully) a new owner with a new vision and a sensible plan can avoid us having to get rid of everyone? If there are ongoing talks, like proper advanced talks then surely player sales/purchases would be on hold until it all went through?
  13. Playing devil's advocate....I don't recall anyone saying there will be announcement....ever, never mind today! My reading of it was.....there could well be 'news' coming from somewhere today....so presumable this could be an official announcement from the club, a tweet from the man himself, a story leaked to a trusted journo....anything. Also, there may be no news whatsoever, as the poster stressed several times. This is a discussion forum is it not? People write stuff, others read it. You either agree with it, challenge it or ignore it. Sarcastic piss taking is a bit boring in all honesty! ?
  14. "Now incredibly the repercussions of tensions between the two nations has stretched as far as Villa Park". - Does he actually get paid to write this nonsense?
  15. This scenario makes perfect sense in the real world....but I fear Xia lives in some parallel universe. We can only guess what's going on in his head at the moment!
  16. Well there is more than a strong rumour that Fosun wanted Villa before they moved for Wolves. If that's true then it's just Villa all over isn't it!
  17. 'HE' isn't losing though is he....it's the club that is losing out. Future revenues, property, players etc....Xia is gonna hold on to get his money back from his initial purchase plus anything he has put in since (not much I wouldn't of thought). My worry is he turns to another shadowy chinese consortium like TTA up the road!
  18. If we are calling in £750k due to us in January, I think it's quite obvious we have called in every penny we can get already....whether it's in the public domain or not! I mean, how desperate must we be to collect £1m last week when we were due it next week anyway....and then call in a poultry £750k due in January 2019? Not forgetting both of these fees will incorporate some sort of charge presumable, so we probably won't even collect the full £1.75m.......We seriously do not have a pot to piss in at the moment. I find it staggering that people are still in denial over the position the club are clearly in!
  19. Bit like the owners CV then ? Gu Yanfang has been around a while. She was appointed as a director to Aston Villa Football Club in November 2016. I think she has replaced Wyness on the board of all the related companies he sat on, and she never!
  20. TONY XIA IN TALKS TO SELL CLUB MAIL EXCLUSIVE! https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/exclusive-tony-xia-talks-sell-14833584 "Aston Villa’s precarious future could soon be resolved as Tony Xia discusses takeover bids with two interested parties. BirminghamLive understands that Xia rejected a 51 per-cent offer from a European bidder yesterday. A financial package that would have met Xia’s requirements of up to £40million of investment was put forward - but he knocked it back. Negotiations with two other serious bidders are now planned as the Chinese owner tries to find a way out of the current mess."
  21. As @WaccoeOnline said yesterday, cashing in a measly £1m last week when we were due to receive it next week anyway is possibly the biggest indicator of the mess we are in. Forgetting everything else, this alone should be setting alarm bells off left, right and center!
