  1. If we beat forest and Newcastle it’s game on. Really is.
  2. He doesn’t look as piss weak on the ball as time goes by under Emery . Physically stronger ? Hardly. He just looks so much more tactically aware, picking the ball up in space and not trying to do too much. Think the price tag weighed on him a bit and Smith and Gerrard had neither the man management or tactical acumen to take that pressure off him. He’s improved no end.
  3. Think when you have a spell of games where you are running on adrenaline and emotion and get a few good results ( Gerrard coming in ) you can’t sustain that because it’s basically just dust - nothing of real substance their and novelty can’t be maintained. That goes, and then what do you have. What we are seeing now is seriously professional coaching and incredible detail. That does last and you can sustain it .

If he wanted to sign 5 Leyton orient players in the summer i wouldn’t question it. He’s unreal.
  5. I don’t think he’s injured as such. If he genuinely was when it looked like he tweeked his ankle again - he wouldn’t of played the rest of the half. Agree with above, he just looked leggy and had a poor first half. Can happen. Emery sending out the message that any of you can be hooked. The team is the main priority.
  6. Would be unlikely. I’m not sure Warren and Hearn have ever co promoted a fight. They don’t get on great. Whyte was a matchroom fighter when he fought Fury on BT but Warren won that purse bid and was the sole promoter. Joyce way too risky for Joshua. Has no belt, dangerous - guys that have been in with him don’t tend to come right in fights after it.
  7. Khan vibes off Joshua. Khan started with Oliver Harrison. Then went with Roach after the Prescott KO. Every defeat bought a new trainer and with it a purported new style. Virgil Hunter, Joe Goosen, BoMac. They were all going to be “ the one “ Joshua will go on a similar trajectory. Without been offensive he’s like Khan in the sense, he’s too dim to take new stuff on board and will always revert to type.
  8. He’s had his eye on this one to come back around for a while. That defeat still rankles with him.
  9. He was running all over the gaff under Gerrard, getting nowhere and looked kinda pissed off. Looks a very happy player now.
  10. I read it like a poem then got to the end and realised it wasn’t.
  11. I’ll take that. Kamara looks miles off it.
  12. What a player Ramsey would be if he could get his head up
  13. That should be Plant done at the top level. He’s came up well short in both his losses. Had Benevidez winning this comfortably.
  14. Can see why Hearn didn’t want to over pay on Okolie. Horrible fighter. Awful to watch.

A mark of the imprint he leaves mentally on a player too i think . He knew they were struggling a bit at home, were pandering to the crowd a bit and rushing their work. He’s took the sting out of that and got them to be far more relaxed.

Same. By far the most enjoyable. The 3 consecutive 6th places ( i think ) under O’Neill was a great achievement but the football wasn’t half turgid.
  17. Literally will feel like a new signing, he essentially is. Wrap him up in cotton wool. We aren’t getting relegated and realistically i don’t think we’ll get europe.

I know it’s a nice graphic but think we should park this stuff - only end up tormenting yourself. Bring on Chelsea !!

Totally agree also tells me it is a dressing room without ego and good spirit. There is no “ star “ player who feels he’s above work and what a sense of team is about. Sense that Emery nips this stuff out.

I don’t have this naive expectancy that we will win every week, and that’s ok but under Gerrard, Smith ( not been harsh ), Bruce , we literally asked the question on here “ What are they doing Monday to Friday “ That doesn’t enter my head with this guy. If we lose, i can concede that maybe the opposition have just been better on the day but with Emery im never left in any doubt that the prep has been anything but thorough. There is a great level of comfort in that as a supporter.

It’s a testament to the level he’s at though in fairness. A manager chopping and changing every window never sits well with me and it shows their limitations as a coach.
  22. Don’t want to pour piss on Smith’s time here but he literally had no TEAM plan when Grealish was out. Kamara out and we were highly functional and effective as a collective today. That’s very impressive.
