Its just Kate with a thin face because she's lost weight due to her illness / operation whatever it was

Which is why she isn't seen up close in public

Which is why they photoshopped the picture etc

She'll be back in the public eye giving us value for her weekly benefits giro when she doesn't look anorexic

She was very thin to begin with. That carrier bag she was carrying was probably to stop her blowing away.

Had a chat to a transgender lady at work a few months back. Basically that person is dead to them. Asking questions like "what was your name before?" Should not be asked etc.

But asking to destroy family photos is quite an extreme and agree you'd hope a compromise would be possible

Yeah, I think I got that the previous person would be viewed as dead but not that they'd want to be erased if that makes sense.

My son is my son, he is who he is, if he later decides to become a her or whoever, then that's upto him. But he'll always be my kid and I want to be able to cherish the time with him when he's little and photo's help with that. I already look back at baby pics.

The thread on reddit even went further than I aluded to. The mum had got rid of all photo's except one which was up in the hallway as it had the Dad in it. However the Dad had a tattoo on his arm of the kid's previous name and this was visible.in the photo and the child objected to this. I think the child had some issues with the Dad before he died (he wasn't accepting of the change) and this added to it.

Was an interesting and thought provoking read.

  3. Was browsing Reddit over the weekend and saw a thread where a mum had been asked by their child to destroy every photo of them before they'd transitioned as they were painful reminders. An added complexity in this was that some of them contained pictures of the father who is now deceased.

It's a side that I hadn't even considered as I'd always seen it as something going forwards in time and not reaching back. Whilst I hope that I would support my son if he ever went through this (it's their life to do so as they wish), I'm not sure how I'd feel getting rid of 20 odd years worth of family photo's to try and support.

It'd be like getting rid of 20 year's of my own life and my own history. Photo's and videos of our family holidays are some of my most precious items and memories.

Would have to hope that some sort of compromise could be reached.

Cool, I might look into that myself 👍

Looks like it's similar to the GoHenry app that launched year's ago and was really good. However they started charging a monthly fee and I'm not sure it was justified.

    It's called Starling Kite.

    https://www.starlingbank.com/current-account/kite-debit-card-for-kids/

"Starling Kite: digital banking for young people aged 6-15.

It’s like a child bank account, but built seamlessly into your account for better visibility and control. Once it’s set up, transfer money into their Kite Space in seconds and help them learn money skills for life.

Kids get their own version of the app, where they can track their spending, start budgeting, and save for goals. You’ll be able to keep an eye on things from your own app, and set limits if you want to. It’s simple, secure and convenient banking for kids. Plus, Kite customers get a free kids meal at the National Trust!"

Sounds great but no ideas if it actually is.

Starling sounds a lot like Chase, another option to consider. Great to use when travelling without incurring any fees.

Its the free kid's account/app that I'm most interested in. Teach him the basics of saving, banking, send him pocket money, etc

But against that 'even one' that might recant, the vast majority will simply harden their views. Especially the way this stuff is presented in the sort of newspapers that they tend to read. The message that comes across isn't "These people are making a serious point, we should think about it", it's "These people are dangerous and deluded vandals, we should lock them up".

The message lands better with younger generations and they're more likely to change their views as they're less entrenched.

Their actions get publicity and get people talking.

Several pages of this thread have now been dedicated to it confirms this point.

They want attention and we're all giving it to them.

  8. To clarify the above post.

I'm not championing the environmentalists or what they've done.

Just trying to explain why I think they've done it and why it's been successful for them.

It's the same as when they glue themselves to things or block roads. If everyone ignored it then they'd stop and try something else.

Growing up in the countryside, then living in cities and now being semi urban in a relatively wealthy suburb. There are way more of these types of vehicles about nowadays and they don't get used the same way as they did 20 or 30 years ago. They're not off road vehicles or used for pulling caravans or horseboxes, they're used on the school run or to go shopping. I can't go a hundred yards down the road without seeing multiple shiny white rangerovers or other 4x4s and speaking to the parents at my sons school they all think we're nuts for going camping or doing outside activities.

  9. They've done what they intended to do by letting out the tyres.

Targeting premium brands also gets more awareness than going after other vehicles. Nobody would care and it wouldn't be news if they went after cheap brands or old cars.

They've raised awareness by doing something quick and easy.

The government are not going to do anything until the public on mass demands it.

So they're targeting the public to raise awareness and they've been successful.

They've got all of you talking about it and keeping the issue being spoken about.

If even one of you takes a step back and thinks that maybe they could be more environmentally conscious in how they do things, it's a success for them, and all it cost was letting some tyres down.

Yep. Losing those 4kg is a bad thing, though. I was at my ideal weight and all I’ve lost is muscle mass.

4kg of muscle mass is a lot to lose in only a few months, there's probably some water/fat in there too. I'm assuming that you're not completely inactive and you're still up and about?

The muscle should come back pretty quickly when you start lifting again. If it's just one hand with damaged fingers, try jumping on machines and just using the good hand.

A few tips and journals are linked in the below if anyone is interested:

    https://jeffnippard.com/blogs/news/how-fast-do-you-lose-muscle-when-you-stop-working-out-how-to-avoid-it

"You can prevent muscle loss through training (even minimal bodyweight workouts) and diet (eating at maintenance calories and consuming sufficient protein)"

Are you just looking for the summer months?  I just spent a week in Tenerife and it was 20-25 degrees and the flights were dirt cheap.  The airport is pretty close to all the resorts, Costa Adeje is only about 15 minutes away and a pretty lively, family-friendly area.  The only problem is it's about 4 hours flight, I don't have kids but there was a family with a baby and toddler in front of me and they were no trouble.

Canary Islands are great for kids.

We took our son to Lanzarote when he was 2 and Gran Canaria when he was 4 and he absolutely loved it. He says he wants to go back again.

Warm but not too hot for a little one. Plenty to do, great food and beaches and not to expensive.  We were able to get a private villa with a pool both times and he was swimming multiple times every day.

We're heading to Madiera (apparently very similar) in May so hoping more of the same.

This man disrespects Brentford in every single interview, and yet their fans were pissed at Ollie for having a go at an individual fan 😂

Delusional git, thinking a club like Madrid would be interested in him.

I'm 45 this year and 55 is my absolute max regardless. I don't think my body would last another 20 years in full time work! I won't be able to claim my work pension until 57 due to the upcoming changes, so need to be able to self fund myself for a while.

I'd like to retire around 55 too. Possibly semi-retire and do something low stress just to keep my mind active. However, my son will potentially be at uni around then so suspect I might need to keep working to support him through that. I've got a decent pension through work so who knows.

The reason many of us say  he shouldn't be on the Ballot is because The USA used to take democracy seriously and out itself forward as the leader of the democratic world.

That Trump is a candidate  after everything he has done and after more ir less confirming he would allow a putin do as he pleases causes us alarm and shows the decline of the USA as leader of the free world.

The US is not a democracy, it's a Republic.

Yep and it's been allowed to be established as the norm and everyone that deviates from the desire to fully commit and partake is ostracised and berated.

If I happen to find any way to retire I am absolutely doing it.

I'm now in my 40s, but realistically still have another 20 year's of being stuck at work. If I'm really lucky that might drop to 15, if I'm unlucky that could be 30 plus.

    Absolute joke.

    @T-Dog

So because I have absolutely nothing better to do other than work (yuk) I've ran the following 10 years worth of Rumbles.

Some scary numbers in there and over a third of 1995 field are now deceased.  Even 2000 trumps 1993's total.

            Year      Deaths
    1994 7
    1995 11
    1996 5
    1997 6
    1998 3
    1999 7
    2000 7
    2001 3
    2002 3
    2003 4

My next task is to find the most recent Rumble with all 30 participants still alive.

I'm kinda surprised Hulk Hogan is still going based off his 'vitamins' usage,  lifestyle and health issues.

Entry for next year's deadpool if I ever partake.

  17. Being worried and annoyed about how other men make you look and if they give you a bad name, doesn't suggest masculinity to me, it suggests insecurity and a lack of confidence. Which is ironic as they would traditionally be the opposite of supposed manly traits.

I don't understand how there are people who voted for him in 2020, then watched him try to destroy the democracy their country was founded on, plus the odd criminal case, and now say they are still voting for him. According to the charts above he's retained nearly all of his base from prior to the Treason.

I dont understand why he is even able to run for office. He should be in prison.
