  1. I think he is just what we need at the back. Old head with bags of experience to talk the new players through games and see things out when they are tight in a match. He has played at the top level in the past and that experience isn't something we have much of - although the skipper has well - so having those two at the back will give the whole team confidence and great for the new lads to learn from. If we get Adebayor I think this has been an excellent transfer window and top work from the manager and back room staff. Some of the new lads are already looking like class acts.
  2. Time for Gabby to be benched for a while and let some of the new lads get match time. He hasn't been at the races this season, and hasn't been at his best for a good few years. Fluffing the chances against Palace showed his confidence has gone and we need to be sticking those away in tight games when we are on top. Interested to see who starts up front today as I think there will be a lot of chances created so hopefully someone can get amongst the goals. I want to see more of Ayew as I think he could be a decent player given a run in the team.
  3. I heard he got sacked from Chelsea for having it away with a brass #legend
  4. Gil has only played 6 games for us, and a couple of those were as a sub. Not sure why there is so much chat about him being the creative force we need. I am more excited about Vertout. Granted Gil did score a screamer but the jury is still out as far as I am concerned. Defo worth giving him more game time, and the same with Grealish, but I think both are far from the finished article. I would start with Grealish over Gil when both are fit as it stands.
  5. Lennon is decent, good pace, struggles with end product. I would rather the money was spent on a new experienced CB for competition and cover. As much as I like Richards, if he gets a knock as he has in the past, Inam not sure Clarke and Okore/ Baker are up to the task of running the defence
  6. I am guessing he will get a run in the team for 5-6 games while others are finding their feet and getting match fit (Ayew, Gestede, Gil, Grealish etc). If he hasn't done enough in these games, his place is rightly up for grabs. I wouldn't mind seeing the team set up without him as he goes missing too many times, and goals per game ratio is dreadful, but with more competition, it could bring him back to his best. TS won't be afraid to drop him though.
  7. He's a villa legend in the making. We have needed a proper leader at the back since Laursen and given time, I think he will be that player. Give him time to develop his game at CB and we will reap the rewards. He has all the attributes to be a top CB and villa captain
  8. First post!! He would be a good signing as an old head amongst a young set up. On his day, better than what we have got and the TS factor would only help. I hope it goes through. Only sticking point I can see would relate to clauses on extending the deal after this season. Adebayor and Rudi up front could be a naughty little combo...
  9. Hi, I am a villa fan living in London. Got a season ticket for the first time this year and can't wait for the season to start. Looking to get involved in the chat on here. Cheers Joe
